when you have pressed "/" use the up and down arrows to change, Direct is for people near you and (some servers use) Side chat that's a globally used channel. you can use " , " and " . " to change it aswell :P

Back in the day when you spawned with a makarov, and side chat was enabled. I took out 3 people in cherno with a makarov before the even knew i was there lol They were typing in "omg we got killed by a noob spawn" "he wiped us clean with a makarov" oh lols were had. and i think its Bohemia Interactive that sorts out the damage per gun.
