  1. right good patch indeed! brings back the good old survivalism feeling zombie knockdown feels a bit fishy and no as50's are some changes that bug me but compared to the vast changes of everything else its forgiveable good job keep it up ps.if you find the time pls pm me the reason behind banning the .50 cals im still curious :)
  2. Its like playing poker - you can call the BF3 blind and live for the flop, folding with 90% chips left but when a player goes dayz and your pair of queens scream "call" your pulse is about to skyrocket. Floxer

    DMR can be found at firestations(3), airport control centers(3), hangars(12), military tents(21), military buildings(4), baracks(2) and heli crash sites(3-6) so there are a total of 48-51 places to find a DMR AS50 can be found at heli crash sites - total of 3-6 places M107 can be found at baracks, heli crash sites - total of 5-8 places chances of finding a DMR mag is 3-4% per military loot chances of finding a M107 mag is below 1% " chances of finding a AS50 mag is as high as finding the gun itself - it doesnt spawn without the gun you still compare apples with water melons

    look gews i dont want to do this but i turn your arguement with the enterprise upside down If the as50 is gone the DMR is superior to all other weapons in the game reasons: - fully auto 20 shots - deadly accuracy close quarters - nightvision - best optics (okay maybe the m40 is better =)) - ammo is easy to find - highest dmg you want to ban this too? i bet so and about you trizzo - you re living in a dream world ..... the very reason these guns exist in real world and in dayz is not thats becoming harder to kill someone - no its becoming easier we dont send our troops to fight with high grade weapons to give them a challenge... if you want to shoot a target far away you can either practice with a smaller caliber and compensate more or you take a higher caliber and compensate less thats physics i turned your ass upside down - you are arguing against realism now ... you got it? i mean i came here to the forums seeing that your only argumentation to ban as50's was realism. and you dare to tell me i got no arguements... bla bla bla blalance ... i teach you a lesson of balance you compare guns in dayz like you find as50 as easy as any other gun but there are only 2 ways to get such a gun and its not crawling up a deerstand and collecting it you either shoot and loot a player that got this gun - and when you accomplished that - i mean you won vs. the absolute OP-ness out there - shouldnt you get those rewards the same way? i mean you are the next king of the hill - Balance man or you took your time surviving and took your chances at heli crash sites - and yes plural - the drop chance is low - you spend so much time getting this baby i think it takes you about fifty times longer to find an as50 than a lee enfield - so you need 50% less bullets to kill some ... balance Floxer

    i came here not to discuss on realism - i came here because im very disappointed about the upcoming patchchange regarding the as50/m107 reading the pages i found out that the arguementation towards this decision is based on realism. now i dont agree with that completly - dont get me wrong there are flaws in these guns - but its true for any other gun aswell (lack of wind, lack of weight, lack of blowback) i have recogniced that a vast majority of the players is unhappy with the end game snipers and i respect that - a change in something should be done to keep everyone happy but your reaction to this problem is nuts ... you totally ignore the players who are pro as50/m107 - you ban them in 1.7.7 - and why is that? you are unable to find a solution that fits every one and go with the majority now you can be cynical and call this democracy but i for one would rather like to see a tradeoff and there are plenty of options within the current state of the game to get an approach to this reducing the rarity, increasing the recoil zoomed out - are some ways to work on this problem @barry yea you are correct in the game there is a way to indicate range with mildot system - but i was on the realism-train - in rl however not, cause you dont know the target size :P 1 shot foot kills the same - realism 14kg running star - realism i have shown many pros to keep this gun ingame - i described which atmosphere this gun brings to the game atleast for me and some others (adrenalin pumping) i connect very satisfying and absolute hatred with this gun but this discussion itself is only on the level of game correction aka balance so far Floxer

    damn you u r right i wrote in a style that reffers you the "anti" side as victims - well thanks to clear my mind - sorry about that :o however dont you feel the need for an easy kill weapon? i think its mandatory for this kind of game its like the bfg of doom - i dislike the idea of getting things completly out of the game - tweaking its rarity wouldn't kill the problems it brings with it - but it worked until now and it would reduce the amount of players ever carrying such a gun ... i mean the sound alone lets my hands shake and my heart race. arent these reactions more valuable than balance? combat situations are like a rollercoaster in terms of adrenalin pumping and an as50 is the looping...     unfortunatly my friend i do need it i need it like i needed the good old l85a2 this game is going in the wrong direction by trying to "balance" something ... this game is not competetive - it never was and never will be there are weapons out there who surpasses other kind of weapons simply by the fact that their ammunition size is greater or their firepower is higher - and i want them all in - with different rarity - and a wide varity of special and common attachments like thermal view - every kind of zoomoptic god kno.. erm sorry hall knows what has happend before the zombie outbreak - looks like some spartans forgot their as50's f. that blatant bragging about being killed - you are dead and dead people dont talk live by the rules of the jungle i have survived the flood of the hackers and i will survive the snipers and im still asking you are you friendly .... not everyone who is positve about as50 m107 is a camper or cherno sniper - tired of these assumptions im a f. hero man getting shot in the face point blank on a medic mission with an m107 hip fired - even possible in reality but thats the deal you make decisions - some work, you make friends - some dont, you're on a mission of revenge Floxer

    look trizzo i wanted to point out that it takes quite a while to get an as50 or m107 - which is not the case for a makarov. and yea its daring to shoot .50 cal - you could be on the receiving end one day. so living in a world with snipers to kill you with just one shot is more daring to live in a world without them. well as far as i experienced the as50/m107 it is quite on par with the other snipers you gave me the example to compare makarov and as50 - i found it suiting :) or are you a makarov player hunter? im not uptodate on the dmg numbers - but i know that as50 is able to take out everything with one hit - this is one of the main reasons i like this game ... you know the constant fear of getting shot - instantly - nowhere safe - easy to kill hard to survive - as long as i played dayz all my friends and i shared this joy for fear. and its now on the verge of getting outruled by majority of players who dont like the constant fear - who dislike the tension of an as50 and render it op. i can only hope and pray that this call for security is torn apart before more weapons are gone l85a2 gone as50 m107 next on the list - i bet dmr will be discussed next

    as matter of fact there is need for an anti material weapon... why? because there are cars to blow up and helis to be downed with it besides shooting holes in players why shouldnt there be such a gun in chernarus? the more content of guns there are the better - i like choosing between many guns the recoil of the as50 aswell as of the m107 is not neglegtible if you are not convinced check out the sniper rifle guide: compare the accurate firerate of sniper rifles and you will come to the conclusion that the as50 and m107 are about average in total of all snipers when it comes to optics - well the optics of the as50 and m107 are zeroable - so there is no need to compensate for bullet drop if you can estimate the exact distance to your target. as there is no range finding indicator attached to the optics, like the svd has, you will need a range finder or gps to track the distance and set your zeroing correct. Seems pretty fair to me and yeah you are correct barry there is absolutly no skill involved to shoot a stastionary target... the same is correct for any other sniper too except for the range. but the range of as50 m107 is legit - these kind of weapons are designed to hit targets on such long distances yet again you can only run short distances with these guns in reality but as there is no weight in game - to NO WEAPON AT ALL - there is no arguement to ban as50 and m107 here... for example an loaded m249 with 200 rounds weight 22lb and as50 loaded with 5 rounds 27lb - no big difference here shooting .50 cal hip is possible - till this day as50 and m107 are still in the game and i see absolutly no reason for a ban besides a majority of players complaining about them - which is still a proof for me that you are in denial of the fact that you simply want this gun banned without any real tradeoff within the current state of the game Floxer

    Hey thanks for accompanying me zev atleast some daredevils are with me ;) your understanding of "fixing" something trizzo is somewhat disturbing to me you feel satisfied with the solution to rule out the gun completly but the truth is the as50 and its brother in law m107 are fine as they are - there is nothing unbalanced in them my concern about realism, when i was talking about these guns, is that there is no wind in this game which makes it not as real as it would be in reality and of course the weight problem. weight itself is not implemented in dayz which makes it hard to begin with just the as50 or m107.... both the as50 and the m107 have recoil and you have to center your target again before you can take your next shot - and firing it in close quarter from hip is possible even in real life shooting a target from over 1000m+ takes either great skill or a target which is not moving mastering makarov is easy - aim for zombie head(stay in a building so they dont move that fast) and fire - mission accomplished makarov mastered finding heli crash site 1 hour finding as50 on crash site 3-5hours finding prey 1 hour killing 2 survivors running in the fields 500 yards away by predicting their movement - priceless but skill itself is arguable - some are natural born talents and some struggle - it is not a factor to render something unbalanced - cause your definition of unbalanced is majority of player nothing more... if you get me wind in this game im in it to support you, cause any kind of realism is cool and adds to the atmosphere but in my eyes the whole talk about as50 m107 right now is not about fixing the real issuses, it is way more about selfish players getting rid of something they dont like Floxer

    tired of reading all this nonsense about realism there is not a single topic about realism when it comes down to carry 6 engine parts and being able to run like bolt but dodging bullets with an AS50 at close range and shooting it from hip seems to be a REAL problem .... its not the fact you got killed by it (what makes you angry - searing desperatly for something to mark it "OP") no its the realism whats going through your head running a flashlight 24/7 with just one battery, chopping off 300 logs of wood from a single tree which stands in the forest you know..., taking a shot form 1,1km distance with little eff..- WAIT what did you just say!? thats fucking non realistic stuff which needs to be banned out of the game! ohh god its sooo cheap... and no this game is not a sniper duell simulation with the as50 and you wont change anything in that matter if you remove it simply because a dmr or nearly any other sniper is as good as the as50 - like 80-90% of my deaths by an as50 could have been done with another sniper - in fact i f. uped my position but those 10-20% - when you sit in a car or hovering over a village in a heli - those really nervous moments when you spot a player wielding a gun that matches the size of those guns which name you shouldnt say - those sounds of impendable doom - will all be gone ... disappearing in the nothingness of gaming hell - castet away cause their terror was unbearable for those who wandered across the plains of dayz. The first step to disenchant the threatening and terrifying atmosphere of dayz will be moment when they come for our guns and i can see that the AS50 wont be the only gun banned under the restriction of "OP". No in due time people of Chernarus will arm themselves with waterpistols - boiled of course ..... poor dayz Floxer

    First Run to NWAF; Tips?

    My first trip to NWAF was a mess but i can still provide some information. As you can see on the map the airport got 2 major loot sides. The eastern barracks with one addional minor military spawn and the western barracks, atc tower, firestation and several hangars. make sure you get vision of the places you want to loot outside of zombie spawn range first, you can avoid camping players this way or at least be aware that someone is there (i go all paranoid if i see zombs there and leave directly =) i cant handle stress that well). in my opinion you have to approach each side from the woods and sneak your way in. Never cross the airfield directly (died so many times doing this). when you enter the barracks i suggest you loot everything in there as fast as possible while lying on the ground all the time. too many windows in this building and you cant even see well enought through these windows to tell if players are coming. acctually the first time in there i got so frightened that i didnt left the building cause i thought someone was aiming at the entrance. BE CALM! in there. If you plan on visiting the ATC tower - well let me tell you that the entrance is blocked by some structure - it is a bit tricky to enter. i usually go prone and got in with holding L-SHIFT... it some works best for me. Successefully or not i always left the airport as fast as possible ;) Ah silenced weapons help alot too. You feel more stealthy with them less paranoid :D Floxer

    Okay let me get this... You can be shot down, eaten alive, die of hunger/thirst or bleed to death usually one of these reasons apply when you die the average survival time is 45 mins why in gods name do you think about lung cancer or smoking addiction? you are in a freakin zombie-apocalypse i mean even if there are negative or positve features to smoking i wouldnt care - cause laying down with a broken leg, waiting for a horde of zombies storming your way and just one bullet left isnt enough - the cigarette turns you into a badass ;) They need to be in the game
