Because it's painfully obvious you have no idea what you're talking about. OP's idea separates bullets and magazines into two separate items. You have to load a magazine before it can be usable. You can find 7.62x39mm ammo lying around for use in your AKM, but unless you actually find an AKM magazine to load them into, they're not going to do you a damn lick of good. If you can only find one magazine, you will have to stop and refresh the magazine before it can be used again. This is a pretty great idea but probably beyond the ability of the game to handle - the damn thing doesn't even keep track of the mags you already have properly.

    HOTFIX 1.5.8.4 Rollng Update

    Just about died tonight due to some bugs. Fell from the top of a ladder (specifically, the ladder that leads to the top of the control tower at the NE Airfield). When I stepped off the ladder at the top, I was moved too far to the right and was clipped out of the area in which I could walk, causing me to fall. (For the record I had an M1014 in hand.) A friend saved me with medical supplies but only barely, as I had somehow clipped into the wall; he had to target my foot, which was the only part of me sticking out of the building, and dragged me away. I connected to the server at one point and despite not having sustained any injury and still having a modest amount of blood (8k), I was passed out and had to wait for the hourglass to dump before I could move. Still, I was stuck swimming in the earth and for some reason locked into my binoculars ("B" key wouldn't do anything). I was able to get free by using my mouse wheel to select a different weapon, then standing up and vaulting. I was also unable to gut animals for some reason. (Yes, I had a Hunting Knife, I know how it works.) The "Save old camping tent" contextual command would never leave the mouse wheel menu no matter how far away from the tent I went. I think that was all that I observed from tonight's playing.

    I did. Placed one today' date=' but only was able to do it in a middle of field. No objects, bla bla bla... No point in placing them as personal stuff saving point if you cant hide it. [/quote'] It took me a while to figure out. I can walk a short distance with the inventory still up. I spam clicked 'deploy tent' while walking around a little and it actually deployed a lot more easily. It then glitched out and i could place infinite tents. dumped it out of inventory and had like 6 show up on ground... grabbed 1 went somewhere else and set a new tent for my self. Trees were pretty close to it so I think it's just a matter of first click placement being buggy? Thanks for the tip, it actually worked - that being said, it still took about an hour of trying before it finally threw down.

    The CBA_MAIN is of no consequence, ignore it. As for the empty hills, it sounds like you've spawned outside of the bounds of the map. I've been told you can get back in the game area by going south until you hear the ocean (you won't see it though). Once you do that, hook to the east and eventually you should come back to Kamenka.

    I probably wouldn't mind the current system if everyone's name was locked to their GUID and unchangeable. So if some random user, Dmitry556 (a made up username) guns me down as the result of calling friendly and betraying my trust by blasting me in the head with a Makarov for my sweet sweet beans, I can personally hunt his ass down - or, even more appealing, getting a posse to go do it for me. With permanent naming individuals can garner a reputation, not through any kind of in game mechanic, but through word of mouth - "Dmitry556 is a known traitor", or "Dmitry556 is legit and will help you out if he can", and so on. Just a thought. A sure fire way to reduce PVP would be more helpful player interactions that require two or more people, similar to the blood transfusion and other medical mechanics. Until such a time, fuck you guys; I am killing every single one of you on sight. No hard feelings.

    Well. My first player interaction - well, the first one that wasn't randomly stumbling upon and shooting at each other - last night was going well. Someone hurt in a zombie infested area needed a blood transfusion, so despite my initial hesitation, I decided to be the better man and help him out. I figured he would be grateful for that enough to not murder us, but, of course, he did, as I was about to drop a spare compass, map, hunting knife and box of matches I had in my pack for him to use. I'm not upset by the loss of time (though it was my longest lived character by a long shot) or gear (I'm sure I can find it all again) but by the betrayal - also the fact my friend was killed who had been alive far longer than I was. The game is a deathmatch and I will treat it that way. If I can't even earn your trust by saving your life, there is no point to doing so; and when there are no consequences for murdering someone other than the missing round out of the magazine and the corpse that gets left behind, I'd far rather be the one still walking and talking rather than the one shaking his head and asking why.

  10. Prevent cheesing out of gunfights - force a disconnect timer of 10-20 seconds or so in which the character kneels down and is basically defenseless. Prevent teleportation due to server hopping - tweak where characters respawn. Nothing like sending them back to the coast, just bumping them a few dozen meters distance away from things like other players, loot, zombies, or even whole structures. Would also keep you from spawning and getting killed totally at random by someone who just happens to be around as a matter of coincidence (as happened to me earlier today - hope that guy enjoyed my M16A2 with no ammo and the revolver with a single bullet left, anyway). Cross server persistency needs to stay.
