    Ruining ARMA 2?

DayZ and the arma what original community plays are different games. True fact is, that DayZ brought to arma the kind of people that never were there, but then again these people will never play arma, they'll play DayZ. You won't see them in organised units of 30 people playing hour long ops with ACE+ACRE where you can usually meet people 20yrs+. DayZ is now popular and popularity draws all kinds of people, including braindead point'n'click kiddies, spamming their incomprehensible moaning over mic, probably trying to pronounce "your mother", makarov blazing in elektro, absolutely immune to any kind of reasoning, negotiating or teamwork. Its the same kind of people that will play as the fifth sniper in TF2, who can't do sh*t besides killing people who are taunting/derping around for fun and that's something they won't understand... Just wait, they'll get bored and leave. Or just kill them, that works too.
  2. My only gripe with this is how fast they respawn in the exact place I just cleared. I kill 20-40 zombies only to have them back before I can pick up my beans. I mostly just sneak past them but when you have a heavily armed group and you're commited to clear a part of town of zombies and loot without having your face in the dirt all the time, you're just wasting ammo. The numbers in which they (re)spawn are good, they just should not respawn so fast or atleast not on your head/in the area where you just killed 30 of them. Also I know their pathfinding is not perfect and they have to be sped up as needed to keep up with the player. But having zeds with their speed and animations sometimes insanely sped up absolutely eliminates chance of getting some distance between them and you, no matter what obstacles you come up with. So it comes down to the good ol' exploiting of their causal walking pace when in most buildings where you can kill them by hundreds if you have the ammo. IMO they should be sped up to keep up with you but this boost should have some cooldown, meaning they will be always at your tail but sometimes you'll get some breathing space, can turn around and do something before the children of sonic and speedy gonzales on crack will zigzag infront of you at speed higher than the speed at which you can move your gun, which is pretty rigid no matter the fps.
  3. GMT+1, currently at Devil's castle, have some blood bags, plenty of AK mags and stuff. Looking for someone to team up with :)
  4. Was in Elektro, picking up stuff in the three floor building before going north and some stupid bandit scratched me with 2 handgun shots through window and then started spamming his AK, I crawled under the windows to other room, patched myself up, crawled down the hallway so he wont see me repositioning and then I waited with my 1911. After a while he ran up the stairs, didnt even check his back and was headed straight to the room where he hit me. Instead of my loot, he got full 1911 clip in his back emptied veery quickly :D Took his stuff and announced his death. Turns out he was terrorizing the town for a long time and everybody celebrated his death :D

    The PvP Discussion Thread

Being cautious is ok with me, but simply shooting everything in sight is not the best approach and definitely not one to brag about. Seeing everybody as a possible threat is normal, but having RoE of a lunatic not much. I simply shoot only those who pose immediate threat, most likely because they know about me or are going to spot me any second. But if you see some newbie running around with flares and you are sneaking through the area, there is no sane reason to open fire on him as you'll likely gain nothing, loose ammo and draw attention to yourself. Even if its not a newb, its better to leave people alone. In total darkness I nearly bumped into a guy in some forest. He had survivor skin, definitely some good stuff on him, but he didnt know about me. I had more than enough stuff to keep me going to next areas with loot and I choose to not shoot him becase: A. I'm not an a-hole and most importantly B. as I said, you never know who's around. Guess what, I took cover and watched, shortly after another guy who's been probably working with him showed up and I'd be dead/fighting by that time if I had killed the first guy. I fire only in selfdefense, sneak and avoid all contact except with well known friends and I can easily outlive any triggerhappy bandit. Oh and there's a small exception to my RoE: 1. See a bandit skin? 2. Unload whole mag if possible, if not call him out to whole server, grab some beer and watch him getting gangbanged.
