some servers have not been restarted for quite a while and if they also don't have players, that means none of the spawned items are picked up and it lags like fuck. Other than that try drivers, get a ssd and install arma 2 there(though you probably have already), shitty sli/crossfire support, try using 1 gpu.

Start the game via the beta shortcut in steam arrowhead folder.

I have a 6970 with I7 2600k, 8gb ddr3 and a ssd and i can run it fine for the most part, however if i wanna go to elektro and to cqb in the city i switch my details to low, cause 30 fps and pretty frequent lower fps spikes is not acceptable in close combat, as people who have been doing fps gaming for a longer time, especially on a competitive level should now. If you put all your shit to normal-ish you should run the game no problems i think. Also if i have my details set to highest then it also drops pretty drastically if i zoom in on the character view I really would not recommend anything under that for dayz personally. 30-40 fps the minimum that is acceptable to me. I will be getting a dual 680gtx setup with 16 gigs of ram next year, b4 crysis 3 comes out, so i think after that i will have no problems at all with performance :D

Dofazi what keyboard is that ? always wanted a low profile keyboard with lighting, but never found one. All the gaming keyboards seem to use those gay high profile keys.(atleast it seems to be low profile from the picture) Cheers

I either take some folded paper or whatever i can jam between the pressed down w button and unpressed s button, so the s button keeps the w button pushed down. Or you could use a keyboard or mouse with macro functions :P Made a little example using a euro cent, works great :)(atleast for low profile button keyboards)

Generally safer to do at night, since less chance of getting sniped. And whatever you do, do not go to crash sites marked on the map, 99% chance that a sniper is waiting :D

Yeah both beta and dayz version have to be the same on the server and the client.

1. Install the latest Beta patch(six updater should actually do it already, even though it doesnt update dayz yet.) If its not updated download and install it from http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php 2. Download latest DayZ patch You can just download it from the main page here if u want, there are many sites where u can download it. Depending on where you download it from it may come in packed or unpacked form. If its packed unpack it on ur desktop or somewhere. i use http://cdn.armafiles.../latest.torrent 3. Put the files (should be 14 of them if i recall) into (your steam folder)/steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead/@DayZ/addons/ and rewrite the old ones. For some reason sixlauncher resets it back to the older version it if you start it after doing this so what i do is start it via the Launch Arma2 OA Beta Patch shortcut in the operation arrowhead folder. 4. You may need to change the target of the shortcut or not. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash (you can add whatever other parameters u used such as cpu count, maxmem and so on) Mine for example looks like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion;D:\@DayZ" -nosplash -skipintro -cpuCount=4 -world=chernarus maxMem=2047 -noPause Just dont start sixlauncher after you install it manually, untill sixlauncher also gets the update, otherwise it will revert you back to the older version.

It's always been an issue so the first thing you do is make sure both YOU and the server you are joining are using the same version. If it still happens then welcome to the club.

Well if their buggy game isnt loading after 10 minutes and i restart the game, i dont think that qualifies as hopping.

Everyone is dude and obviously i don't mean spawning after u die.I waited 10 minutes stuck in the loading screen and then restarted the game to try again. And guess what i spawned on the coast with full gear and a pistol in my hand and like 4 ppl shooting around me.lol Some sort of reply would be nice to confirm that its a bug or whatever and thats its being worked on..
