It looks fantastic but if it's got no multiplayer then it looks like you lot are stuck with me for a while longer. I do hope Rocket takes some "inspiration" from that mod, though. The zombie movement is great, the visual effect also adds a lot.

The hatchet is pretty much the best weapon in the game if you get the drop on someone, I'm not even slightly joking. If you're still using a Makarov against players since the ArmA2 nerf you're asking for a hatchet to the legs.

That's nothing, I saw some in Kamenka sprawled along the side of a shed and an outhouse so that you could only enter them by vaulting a fence. I don't understand the point in that, something tells me it was randomly spawned.

Yes, if you Alt+F4 immediately the script kiddie (or other thunderdomed players) cannot kill you. I don't think people survive the thunderdome unless they Alt+F4/abort.

They're basically the same gun but one has an aimpoint and one has a high powered scope. If you have room in your backpack why not take one for sniping and one for CQ? They use the same ammo. Stats: http://dayzdb.com/database/weapon-comparison

It was a script kiddie (somewhat inaccurately referred to as a 'hacker' on these forums). If you ever get teleported again, or turned in to an animal, or anything like that just Alt+F4 or abort really fast.

Actually, ignore my ghillie + DMR moment in my prior post, my Christmas moment actually happened just last night... It was after finding the ghillie and DMR that I went to the NWAF with a friend on a night server, and he'd just logged out for the night. I'd found a pretty nice gun at the barracks (M4A1 CCO) and stuck it in my backpack to replace the Remington w/ flashlight I was keeping for CQ, but I decided I wasn't done yet so I went to do some heli hunting. I didn't find anything at the first heli, but I really wanted some NVGs so I thought I'd camp the spot and kill pilot zombies while nobody was around. Unfortunately I was really tired and caught up in what I was doing so I didn't realise how much time had passed, nor had I been paying attention to my UI, so I didn't notice my hunger warning was flashing and my blood was going down. I ran off until I found a sheep and I shot it, only to realise I'd not got any matches, so I started running for the nearest sign of civilisation (which at this point was Novy Sobor). At the rate my blood was running out from hunger I knew that was going to be the place I died, so I ran in to the farm house and almost wept with joy when the first loot pile I came across contained a can of sardines. I've never been so excited to eat a virtual can of sardines in my life, I hate sardines. That was the best Christmas present ever. It's just a shame I died the next time I decided to play, a pilot zombie broke my legs and knocked me out. :(

My Christmas moment was the first time I found a ghillie suit and a DMR together, but that pales in comparison to my friend's recent find. He was going to the NWAF solo when he found some dude's badly hidden tent with a fully functional dirtbike next to it. He took the dirtbike and also the M4A1 Camo SD, ghillie suit, NVGs, rangefinder, and GPS that were in the tent. I believe he left the guy some AK ammo and sardines for his trouble. I can only imagine how enraged that guy was, but it's his fault for leaving the tent in such an obvious place.

I'm not positive, but I think that's just the game being glitchy as opposed to hacking.

Well, if you want to compare content and development cycle, then Minecraft was a buggy alpha with little content (compared to its beta and release versions) from May 17th, 2009 until December 20th, 2010. It was not released as a finished product until the end of 2011. How long has DayZ been available to the public again? Addition: You can still play Minecraft Classic (v0.30) free on the official site, how about everyone goes to look at it while you tell us more about the many treasures of depth and amazing features it has?
