This is how I feel. I could delete all my profiles folders so I don't have to worry about edited config files, but some people here are saying they didn't edit theirs and still got banned. I'm so tempted to err on the side of caution and simply not play until we hear some kind of official response from BattlEye and/or DayZ's dev team. Beans for making me laugh with proper application of one of my favourite memes.

I've not been banned, but in response to the part I've emphasised; I'm not trying to say you should believe everyone who says they're innocent, of course cheaters will say they are innocent (or sorry, only once they've been caught), I'm just trying to explain that there are individuals in this thread I feel are worth taking at their word. The fact that those individuals are, in my humble opinion, worth believing makes me inclined to think BattlEye have fucked up.

When I get bored I do something I don't usually do, typically out of my comfort zone. I'm an average-skilled player, so I find joining a night server or one with third person perspective disabled is always challenging.

I've not been on these forums long but there are people in this thread who I would personally consider recognisable, respectable posters. I am more than willing to give those individuals the benefit of the doubt if they say they have been globally banned for no reason, or at least for reasons they are not aware of. If you just want to assume everyone who has been banned is a script kiddie then fine, but as someone who plays this game I think it's cause for concern when a non-negligible amount of people are reporting that BattlEye went all SkyNet on them. I don't want this to happen to me, especially since the game is linked to my Steam account and that would mean re-buying the game on a different Steam account if BattlEye could/would not fix it. But you go on assuming everyone banned is guilty, I just hope you don't end up coming back here in a few hours or days crying about having a global ban and demanding answers.

Rocket is pleased by this kind of emergent gameplay that is a core part of the game. Maybe this is not the game for you.

If these global bans are also affecting legit players, and it happens to you, what are you going to post?

I didn't know it worked like this, I thought it was individual maps. Welp, will definitely be deleting the crashed helis on my favourite server from my map and simply writing down the co-ords instead. Though, the server will have restarted by now, rendering them useless, but I'll keep this in mind in the future.

I'm glad you're having fun, but seriously now, this thread is intended for legit players who are banned. Being a legit player myself, and having some empathy in me, I am hoping I don't join their ranks next time I play. As should you. If BattlEye have fucked up then this is a concern for all of us.

This is a fantastic solution until someone teams up with their DMR or AS50 with rangefinder, and can shoot more than one person as they try to figure out an escape route without knowing exactly where the shot is coming from.

I don't know if all servers allow the option, but individual maps seem to retain notes players have put on them.

I've heard of players having their legs broken by wayward empty Jack Daniel's bottles. My friend also made himself deaf using one to break a hospital window from the inside.

As far as I've seen, zombies don't actually see flashlights at all. I've shone them right in their faces before. Chemlights and flares are like bath salts to them, though.

I can't tell you if it's working as intended, but I saw this happening to some poor sod on a livestream yesterday.
