No, it's not, but frankly you sound bitter. Very bitter. Deleting the context of the statement makes it most apparent. I was not saying "I want to play on servers with people of my skill level", I am not even that good at the game, go ahead and quote it if that's what I said. What I was saying is that when some one does kill me I don't want it to be because they saw my name in the forest 200m away and decided to run up to me blasting in third-person mode without even looking down their sights. I want it to be because they spotted me by being vigilant of their surroundings, stayed calm, and decided to pursue me until they could take a good shot. That's funny considering how many "l33t PK sniping camper" videos I see are by people on servers with crosshairs and nametags on, to make player killing easier. I simply prefer to know that anyone who kills me can actually be aware of their surroundings and shoot properly.

If you switch to DayZ Commander, which is a far superior server browser in my opinion, it shows you what those difficulties mean. There is a difficulty setting for certain combinations of the following server options: Third person. Tracer rounds. Nameplates. Crosshairs. DeathMessages. As far as I'm aware damage done to and by players or zombies is completely unaffected. Edit: I'd almost forgotten about things like map markers, thanks leeds2007.

I'm with you killingwillum. Being alpha, I can tolerate bugs as long as they're recognised as a known issue and are being worked on, I think many people are confused as to the definition of an alpha stage in software development. The alpha stage is essentially building the game, the beta phase usually starts when the game is considered feature complete. Beta phase is where the primary focus switches to fixing bugs and such, so we're kind of lucky that Rocket & Co. do fix really crippling bugs (e.g. the texture bug they're currently working on). Hackers isn't even really Rocket & Co's problem, BattlEye get paid to provide adequate protection against malicious scripts.

They do seem a lot more sensitive to agro lately, and this really would not bother me if not for the fact they teleport around me when I'm trying to get a headshot. Don't care that they're faster than Usain Bolt, but the teleportation is annoying. :P

This is why I found it ironic that he responded positively to the post on page one that basically said "it's all the COD kids leaving". The OP is glad all the COD kids are leaving? Okay, fair enough, then I'll be glad if people who cry "RIP" over player numbers left too.

I just hope dogs are rare enough that not everyone I see is running around like it's Fallout 3, or like Mel Gibson in Mad Max 2. I also hope we never see zombie dogs. Not ever. If you think the Usain Bolt zombies are annoying enough you just wait until there are ones that make a smaller target, with superhuman hearing and smell to boot.

There's some kind of obsession with player numbers, I don't know if it started with World of Warcraft or what, but do you really think everyone who bought that game played it yesterday? I didn't play it yesterday, does that mean I don't like it? As long as there is a single server up I'll be a fan, it just does not matter to me how popular something is. Fun first. We don't know how low player numbers would have to be to make Rocket give up and call the whole thing off, only he knows, but one thing we do know is that the success of this mod has been higher than he could have possibly imagined. Okay, assuming that "PvE option" means consensual PvP and safe zones etc. I chose I don't think there should be a PvE option, that's not DayZ.

Before I answer, I need to ask someting... This is a sandbox game, but I already consider myself a "primarily PvE" player. By which I mean I don't expect there to be safe zones or quests, or any daft crap like that, I just avoid Cherno/Elektro and try not to get in to engagements with players unless one is in my way. I'm simply a survivor and don't believe in "consensual PvP" in this particular game, I like PvP being a persistent threat. So, what option do I choose? I don't want PvP to be impeded by any sort of mechanics at all, it's avoidable as is, but I don't see an option there that seems to fit my point of view.

They sent their appeals and got unbanned, why couldn't they just discuss the issue amongst themselves without all the abuse? It's crazy how far you're bending over backwards to justify being a complete douche to people just because you assume they were guilty.

The bandit skins were removed before I started playing. I'm not sure exactly how the humanity system works now, but when I shot someone who killed my friend I got a bandit kill instead of a murder. That same friend has since murdered so many people that he has a really loud heartbeat on him at all times. I don't know if everyone who kills him would get a bandit kill, or if they'd only get a bandit kill if he recently murdered someone.

The main page says one of the game requirements is balls. If you can't attempt to survive without spawning items using cheats, that is distinctly lacking in balls.

You get a bandit kill if you shoot someone who recently committed murders. If you shoot someone who's not recently committed murders, you just get a murder.

A friend of mine spawned under a building and he crawled to the stairs, they killed him. Try that so you can re-spawn.

I've only seen one myself, in about three weeks of playing. I was turned in to a sheep and Thunderdomed once. Edit: Sorry, a cow. I was turned in to a cow. It was actually funny for about five seconds.

Pointing out the intention of my message makes me a troll? My message, by the way, was intended to give someone a happy gift for producing entertaining content. I don't see why anyone who claims to enjoy fun and happiness would be opposed.

Did it say you were banned from the server, or did it specifically say "global ban"?
