I think the implication is that the deathmatching types and the immature types seem less common on hardcore servers, maybe because they find them too hard.

To be fair the current inventory is only a place-holder. I believe Rocket posted some concept piece a long time ago and it looked good.

Not at all, I just want to know why you care so much. I see this issue brought up quite a lot and I don't understand why people are so bothered. Personally I think the game could use a lot more dead bodies, I mean there should at least be some bones around even if we try to rationalise that a lot of time has passed since the outbreak. Of course, I think dead bodies should be treated as an exceptionally low (or non-)priority when I think about what else needs fixing, just like I think caring about if newspawns suicide is a total non-issue. I just don't see why people care, at least not yet.

It looks impressive, but "smokes and mirrors" comes to mind. It's probably a great engine for single player games but I doubt it's actually rendering anywhere near as much as that trailer seems to be implying. At the beginning it looked pre-rendered, the Manhattan skyline ended up looking like a skybox during the gameplay sequence. -

But why do you care if people do this? How does it affect you in any way if someone spawns in Stary Sobor and would rather spawn somewhere like Berezino?

I am bumping this thread. I have tried adding M4 and FNX flashlights to my hotbar and it doesn't seem to work, and going in to the inventory and right-clicking on them twice a minute is very awkward when you're trying to go undetected. I would really, really like a hotkey to switch weapon flashlights on and off. Edit: Never mind, this came up with a Google search and I didn't realise it was in the mod suggestion forum. It was intended for Standalone. -

I don't know if it's something unique to hardcore servers, but last night I ran in to two friendly German(?) guys at NWAF. I fucked up, bad, and they not only saved my life but after a brief chat they gave me 20 rounds of 7.62 (which is why I was at the NWAF anyway). Edit for Plot Twist: I actually had the chance to try gambling on taking them both out with my revolver while they were preoccupied, chose not to.

In another thread weren't you just going on about how you'd stick something to your screen if they got rid of crosshair? Do you even play on hardcore servers?

You're right in saying that's not hip-fire, but it's not firing properly either. It's inbetween. If you want accurate fire look down your sight instead of playing arcade mode.

I like the idea of skills that improve in some small way and reset upon death, but I don't like the idea of classes at all. This isn't TF2.

Nobody in DayZ in unarmed, you can knock a fully geared player unconscious with one or two well-placed punches and enough bambis have tried it on me that I now shoot any that come within 20 feet of me. -
OP the very trailer for the game depicts a suicide. I'm sorry to tell you this but if the events of DayZ really happened a lot of people would choose to opt out, there's nothing at all unrealistic about suicide. Now, to tackle this issue from the perspective of pure gameplay, I don't kill myself just to get a better spawn, but there have been times I have wanted my character to die for other reasons. If I want to I should be able to, it's a sandbox. It also doesn't affect me at all if someone kills themselves for a better spawn, I just don't care, why do you care so much?

If you found a server with military tents spawning loot then it's the proverbial white whale, nobody else seems to be finding them and that's why I suspect loot has been disabled in the tents while they work on them. I have noticed that, since the last patch, loot now spawns in red-roofed houses barns and has seemingly stopped spawning in the grey garage/sheds. I imagine they are tweaking loot in the sheds because you used to find 1-3 crash helmets in every single one.

Yep, that's what I said too. Even if you took all the bullets away people would be trying to kill with shovels and fists.

There will be plenty of people who will try to KoS even if they only have one bullet. It's an aspect of DayZ that will never go away, and even though I don't KoS I hope it never does.

You found "a server with loot on it", or a server with loot in the military tents? You could be misunderstanding me here in a big way. I, nor anyone I have had contact with, has seen any loot in military tents since the update. Prior to this update loot only spawned in the tents with two doors, now it seems to spawn in none. It's probably intentional. They didn't mention in the patch notes that red-roofed barns now spawn loot, people have found plenty of stuff since the last patch that was not mentioned in the notes.

I find it kind of funny that he says the engine and/or controls were the thing he hated most about OFP, ArmA, ArmA2, and DayZ Mod yet he says he was surprised to find that DayZ SA has the same engine and/or controls. Surely that would have been something anyone else would Google before spending £20 if it were such a pressing issue. I wonder how much money he makes for essentially saying water is wet and that alphas are buggy and messy. I could do that.

Guys they are probably disabling the loot spawns in those types of building while they tweak them, this is probably why red-roofed barns didn't spawn anything prior to the new patch as well.
