You calling people stupid and posting in the wrong forum is irony, I strongly urge you to go there if you actually care about getting any help.
-
Don't flatter yourself. As for why I am here my last few posts have been directing you to the right forum, I am trying to be helpful (and also pointing out the irony). You are simply more likely to get better help directly aimed toward your connection issues, surely that's what you want.
-
It's just ironic, this thread shouldn't even be in this thread if it's about fixing connection issues that most people don't seem to be having. Samuri_Bake_Pie also had a point in that you were warned to expect things like this before you even bought the game, I quote: "WARNING: THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS ALPHA. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME FUNCTIONING." Jog on and get your smart-arse to Troubleshooting.

Fall damage is disabled on stable branch, I believe it has been re-enabled with a new damage model on experimental.

You keep calling us stupid but you're still posting in the wrong forum.
-
Did you go and make a thread in Troubleshooting yet?

Give 2 choices for logout timer: "wait" and "exit now"
DarkwaveDomina replied to knar33's topic in Suggestions
Check before you log out. ;) -
I'm sorry to tell you Rocket has already indicated his enthusiasm for such systems in videos prior to the release of Standalone, if I remember right he was talking about players getting better at things like administering medical aid and repairing items/vehicles at the time when those things are developed more.
-
I have had mixed experiences with other players on hardcore servers, some have been legitimately friendly, some have been hostile (but not KoS) and some have tried to kill me on sight. That, however, is an improvement over my experiences on regular servers where 100% of players I have encountered tried to kill me on sight.

POLL Should The Timeout Timer be Increased, Untouched, Reduced or Removed?
DarkwaveDomina replied to leefriendfield's topic in General Discussion
Increase it. The maximum of five minutes is a good start but I am sure there are server hoppers out there who only find it to be an inconvenience compared to the time they might otherwise have to spend looking for gear legitimately, I say allow it to go all the way up to an hour or more with persistent server-hopping behaviour. -
I don't see any of that, but hey if at first you can't succeed then dream up a conspiracy theory and insult the developers! And you call me childish. :D

I always liked the idea of an indirect 'reward' for surviving, like certain passive abilities being slightly (and I mean slightly) improved until your death. Rocket himself has suggested that such systems might be implemented in the future and I look forward to it, so long as they are balanced. The usual example is cardio. Currently the speed at which you walk, jog, run, or sprint has no effect on your energy or hydration but eventually they probably will, it would be nice if being alive a long time and covering a lot of distance very slightly decreased this or allowed you to run a few metres farther. It wouldn't be enough to give you a real advantage over other players, but would be something you might miss if you had to respawn.

Like I said earlier, I have never had the "please wait 30-300 seconds to log in" message after being legitimately disconnected from the server if the fault was server-side and not client-side, the only time I have seen those messages is when I died or changed servers within 30 minutes of joining one. You're telling me you had 90 minutes worth of those messages, something sounds suspicious to me. If you genuinely believe you're simply a victim of technology then they might be able to help you in the Troubleshooting forum, otherwise I stand by what I said.

So did the crying for the combat logging/server hopping start yet?
DarkwaveDomina replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Seen a few one-post-wonders who registered today just to voice their "complaints" about the system being broken. -
I just find it extremely amusing that lots of one-post-wonders are crawling out of the woodwork, today of all days, making complaints about the new protections. It's almost like they're working.
-
In that case I go back to not being nice to you any more because I have never had a login timer after legitimately disconnecting, see my first response: "I see a lot of people creating accounts today to whine about the anti-combat logger and anti-server hopper protections. ;) " It must suck not being able to farm gear like you used to, try not server-hopping so much and you won't get told to wait for 90 minutes.
-
You should only get the login timer if you disconnected from a server or died within 30 minutes of joining it. That timer has a maximum limit of 5 minutes. If it was the "Please wait..." screen without a countdown that usually only occurs at server restart but I guess it could be a glitch, in which case you just need to reconnect. P.S. You didn't even try pressing escape to go back to the server browser and reconnect? Not once in 90 minutes? I don't know how flaky it is, but so far the 3-4 times I have been disconnected from the server end and not my (client) end I have been able to reconnect without having to wait. Yes this is definitely something I experience, I would recommend staying still for a while before logging out. I usually just try to feel out 30 seconds, that way I log back in precisely where I logged out.
-
Nice try but the maximum time is five minutes. I see a lot of people creating accounts today to whine about the anti-combat logger and anti-server hopper protections. ;) If it was the plain "Please wait..." screen and not the login timer then you should have just tried to reconnect, I don't get the countdown when I have been disconnected legitimately by a flaky server.

It goes up to a maximum of five minutes, currently. Work in progress/alpha. They shouldn't be able to unless they found some sort of work-around. Again, work in progress/alpha. I don't think epinephrine works yet, defib unit should work but it's dependant on the patient's shock and blood levels. Otherwise work in progress/alpha. This was disabled for testing. Again, work in progress/alpha. I believe it has been or will be re-enabled on experimental. Do you routinely stand still for a whole four minutes after seeing a player? It's kind of darling though, that you made an account on this forum to make these complaints and the first one was about the combat logging/hopper protection. :)
-
I'd feel bad about it but I'd leave them. The player will learn a valuable lesson about running in to buildings with only one exit.
-
This was my first thought. I think by default the inventories should be hidden and a button available for you to show your whole inventory if you choose to do so.

I started wearing motorcycle helmets because I realised zombies always aim at your head, if you're wearing protective headgear you can avoid having to bandage. I know some people will now want to remind me zombies aren't a threat and that I should be killing them easily without taking a hit, but we all get unlucky sometimes. I usually put on the ballistic helmet if I find one in pristine condition, one saved me from a Mosin round just last night so I have a new-found respect for them.
-
You haven't told us why. You said you're worried about being killed while sitting down for 30 seconds but we told you that it's nothing to worry about if you find a sensible place to log out, like in trees. Maybe the guy above is right, maybe you're just mad that you can't server hop or ghost any more.
-
Are you listening? 30 seconds won't get you killed if you log out somewhere sensible, what is your problem?
