Regular vs Hardcore: Why do you play?

I play both but I enjoy hardcore more because you need better situational awareness and planning. I play regular when I want to mess around. I don't even watch videos of regular any more because 90% of it is waggling behind walls, I never really realised how boring and unchallenging it is. -
You took the time to make an account for this but couldn't even be bothered shopping out the white background? And why the spellcheck lines? I give you a 2/10.

Personally? Five hours sounds fine for this. If you were including military grade weapons, body armour, and so forth I would have voted 20.

If you're talking about DayZ (not DayZ Mod) then you don't need DayZ Commander, Six Launcher, ArmA II, Operation Arrowhead or anything like that. If you're talking about DayZ mod install ArmA II and OA, then DayZ Commander if you want to use it for a server browser. -

Despite being myself the kind of person who thinks I know too much about computers to use something like Geforce Experience, I do keep an eye on it. I think it's a fantastic tool for people who can't or don't want to mess around with settings and I'm glad DayZ is now supported. With that said and done, the settings it tells me are "optimal" are utter horse shit. :lol: -

I actually agree with your post, but not this point. I think it's casuals who want lots of sniper rifles because it was the easiest way to kill people in the mod.

I don't recall this issue being in the mod but I have experienced it a lot in the standalone. As Karmaterror said I think it's probably related to desync, the devs have told us quite a few times recently that the game has serious bandwidth issues, it's using a lot more than it should be, but they're planning a fix (Guaranteed Network Messages). -

UK is dark at that time in winter. Even now we're in to March sunset is 17:53 today where I live. Too much FoV and KoS IMHO. -

Why would anyone wear a skirt in a zombie apocalypse? If I couldn't find thick pants I'd probably wrap them in layers upon layers of tape, wearing a skirt is just asking for a normally-preventable infection that will kill you with a shortage of antibiotics and antiviral medicines.

If you want to remove 'hide body', fine, but not until there's an option to drag a body. If I have to kill somebody, something I don't tend to seek out, I certainly am not going to leave the body there so passers through after me can be extra alert and/or try to hunt me down, I'd want to leave it in the long grass or in some trees. -

What hook? The game page practically tells people not to buy it because it's in a state. If, in a year or two, the game has not made a major improvement and patches are non-existent you can put it on all the hooks you want. -
I have managed 200 hours of play for £19.99 and that statistic will only increase as more of my friends join me on the game and more patches are published. I would have an enormously inflated sense of self-entitlement to say that I haven't had my money's worth already.

This. I don't mind 3PP servers existing, but hiding behind a door with a shotty in complete safety is not what I would call "action". Try that on a 1PP server and your pulse might actually raise above resting.

If I'm on a CZ or PL or something server, no. The problem is that all but one eastern European I have met on British servers seemed to only be there to troll. I'm sorry but I don't make eastern Europeans come to British servers to troll, interacting with them on British servers simply is not worth the risk to me any more. If you just have a vague accent on certain letters that probably doesn't even mean you're a foreigner, Britain itself is full of accents and there are some British accents I will shoot as soon as I hear, but if you sound like you're clearly from an eastern European country and on a British server with me I'm afraid I will shoot you. -
They're not hackers, they're kids using cheat programs. And don't worry, plenty of these kids do get banned by BattleEye/VAC. Every game has cheaters, hopefully the folks at BattleEye will keep on top of it because it's much easier in this game than the DayZ mod.
