Need Help With Graphics Settings (PC Specs)
DarkwaveDomina replied to blunce's topic in General Discussion
Unless his cooler is packed with dust it's not that, the 580 runs cooler than the "housefire" 480. -
Post your PC specs, in game settings and FPS here
DarkwaveDomina replied to Caboose187 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I'm guessing 30 more often than 50, well done your ridiculously expensive rig is as good as mine on DayZ. :D (I'm normally not mean like that but you clearly only came here to show off.) -

Specs in signature, with overclocks my CPU is at 4GHz (from 3.3) and my RAM is at 1600MHz (from 1333) but that had no effect on my framerate. Video: Rendering Resolution 2560x1440 / VSYNC disabled Textures: Video Memory - 2048MB/Auto / Texture Detail High / Texture Filtering High Quality: Objects Very Low / Terrain High / Clouds High / Shadows High Rendering: AA High / AtoC - All Trees + Grass / Edge Smoothing None / HDR Quality - Very Low / Ambient Occlusion - Disabled / PP - Disabled In the wild I get up to 50-70 FPS, in the worst cities 28-32, if I turn object detail up to normal or higher I only get 18-22 FPS in the same cities. Note 1: If I turn all my settings up to max I get 40+ FPS in the wild but still exactly the same frames in bad cities depending on object detail. Likewise in cities the game doesn't even give a flying fuck if I turn all my settings down to minimum, the only thing it cares about whatsoever is object detail. Note 2: I have temporarily had to switch out my 760 for my older 580, performance is exactly the same no matter what. Note 3: I don't use any .cfg file tweaks currently, I only use startup flags for memory and CPU cores etc. -
Purple is the best.

It might if your grandparents or parents lived through or died in something like that.

Need Help With Graphics Settings (PC Specs)
DarkwaveDomina replied to blunce's topic in General Discussion
I am currently running on a 580 too, the only thing that helps in cities for me is turning Object Detail down to Low or Very Low. No other settingin the entire game seems to have any affect on my framerate in big towns, positively or negatively, but lowering that one got me from 18-24 FPS up to 32 FPS in Vybor. You can also try the .cfg tweaks people always talk about but they tend to make your game look more like Operation Flashpoint. -
If you really don't see why people might get wound up by that I feel sorry for you.

Will We Ever Be Able To Have At Least 40 FPS In Cities and Everywhere
DarkwaveDomina replied to 360Nation's topic in General Discussion
I only bothered going from 3.3 to 4.0 (21%) and left it there. Yeah it still suffers the same GPU utilisation problem according to that link. -

Overclocking did sod all for me unfortunately, and does SLi even work yet in DayZ? -
I thought stable went up a version while experimental got .42, I could be mistaken of course. If not then just trust me, you're not missing much.
-
Why are people so upset about there being no update, don't you stable people only get one every two (or four) weeks? There was one last week. I know experimental updates a lot more often, but stable simply doesn't get an update every week as far as I am aware. Also the current version on experimental is an utter catastrophe, you don't even want it on stable trust me.

Farming Suggestions/Possible Implementations
DarkwaveDomina replied to Nitrotaker's topic in General Discussion
If we ever get any sort of persistence on servers between restarts I don't see the harm in adding basic farming, in fact I've kinda' fancied it for a long time. It would be neat to be able to plant potatoes or something in some relatively hidden area and come back to harvest them, not to mention the possibility of players defending an area of land or a village because it's got stuff growing in it. -

I can't wait for all the people with minimal settings in .cfg files to show up telling us how they get 80fps in Cherno. -
anti-hopping or why it's useless for the moment.

You're upset because you can't find a Magnum and some ammo in 30 minutes? Wow. -
Dayz - In real life (how would you act)
DarkwaveDomina replied to Meenos's topic in General Discussion
I wish I knew why people rush to reply without even reading the OP, where it states you can only use things currently in DayZ. That said I don't think it would be very long before I decided the guy on page one had a good idea, with regards to jumping off something really high. -
I play hardcore and while I think 3PP is a joke I too get tired of people slinging around the words "exploit" and "cheat" on this forum for things that don't even remotely meet the definition. See: People who call VOIP software cheating, referring to it as "Cheatspeak" and so on, there are no words honestly.

Pending Changelog: Experimental Branch: 0.42.116002
DarkwaveDomina replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
I agree and that's the risk we run playing on experimental, but this patch is going to need a ton of polish before it's ready for stable. -
I'd love a trade interface but the idea of a currency being used instead of a barter system in DayZ is not remotely realistic.
-
This guy really thinks the dev responsible for painting axes is taking time out from working on more important things, everybody point and laugh.

Pending Changelog: Experimental Branch: 0.42.116002
DarkwaveDomina replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
I can see why they didn't want to release this patch, it must be one of the worst yet. Everything somehow feels clunkier and my performance is all over the place, even worse than before, desync and lag are completely through the roof, and zombies insta-respawning right in front of me all the time is beyond a joke when they still see and run through walls. I am really not sure how they have broken so much in a single patch without actually fixing any of the important things that already were broken. I didn't get chance to test the new weapons, they look great but this is the first time since standalone launched that I really was not in the mood to play this game. I'm sure this stuff will get fixed down the line, but blimey, this was a really bad patch and the increasing severity of problems is really taking the fun out of it. -
You guys need to read the poll. This isn't about how long it takes you, it's about how long it should take in your opinion.
-
Clearly you missed the point of this thread and poll, it's about how long you think it should take to gear up, not how long it takes you in the current game. I don't see the problem, you can finish allegedly AAA-rated games in 5 hours nowadays and not everyone even wants to go for a full military gear loadout (which should be more rare anyway, and the devs clearly agree). As it stands now it's simply far too quick and easy to get armed and armoured to the teeth and it takes a lot out of the survival experience, people who want to be fully geared almost right away make me wonder why they're even playing this game when games that spawn you in camo and body armour with an assault rifle are ten a penny.
-
I'm slightly disappointed with the patch notes today but this is just over the line. Shut up dude.
-
Which part didn't you understand? Loot is not actually random. Each loot spawn has a table of what loot it can produce and the percent chance for that item to be produced, to make an item appear to take a certain amount of time to spawn you just fiddle with the percent chance until you get a good average.

It was a shit joke mate, we have standards around here. Make fun of Dean all you want but put your back in to it.
