As I see it the "fear or changes", and the "need to change" will be at a deadlock, unless a third party (Rocket/ dev.team) hits somewhere in the middle. If the third party doesn't hit the "sweetspot", it will leave a great deal of people unhappy. This would most likely be an oportunity for a someone else to make something they wan't. It might just be a mod to the stand-alone DayZ. Who knows? -
As the game (mod) is now you should be able to do it your self. With just about everyone Shooting at everyone, it's almost impossible to get a transfusion from someone. Unless you go "outside" the game and get friends/medics on the forum to help you. If the KoS were to reduce, beeing two is the best way to promote aliances created in-game. IMO

This is way of topic, I know. But isn't it a posibility that you can "save" the alpha or beta version if/when the game evolves into something the PvP or the PvP+PvE community doesn't like. Keep up servers that support that version?. Of course with many of the bugs we all hate fixed. I know little about programming and such, so I am actually asking. Surely this would be in BiS's interrest to? This might be stupid and impossible, but I think it would be an idea. -

The real life argument just isn't valid (to me atleast). First of, there are already many more "zombies" than humans, wich must mean that the real threat is in fact them. Second, would every man alive, the last 10%-ish of the population have/find a gun? Military weapens/ high powered rifles and the likes? How many would even be able to use a weapon effectively. I would say a very small percentage of the 10%. That would to make me more scared of the "zombies" It isen't situated in USA with guns in every house (exaturated i know). It's in small area in (a fiktive part) of Russia -

One of the big problems is that almost every one (I think), goes from what Rocket has said about this game: Sandbox (every one can do what they want), and that's happening right now. This suits the many who want's it to be pure PvP. An Anti-game (a game that's not like all the others), that's not what we have right now, we have an Almost pure PvP. And as I already said before, I do like the game, but It can (and most certainly will) be a great game. It's not that we don't want PvP, but we want it to be more than that. It is just sad, that those of you who love the game as is, can't/won't see it. -

Empathy my friend, empathy. A Game or not, you do somthing to someone who you know it upsets, and for no apparent reason. That's pretty cold. I play it as a game to, but a different game than you play. Hope I don't sound like an ass, not my native language. If I do, I apologise. -

Agreed! This really isn't the case. Yes we need bandits of course, or the game would be borring. What we don't need is people who is only interrested in shooting every one. That's what has created this KoS attitude. Imagine the paranoia of not knowing if the guy you're looking at is going to shoot you? As it is now, you know what he'll do... Shoot you. -

The thing is, everybody (with very few excceptions) who thinks "I would kill on site, no questions asked" they wouldn't. Even in a post-apocalypse world you would be better of with other people. Survival is not just here and now, it's also repopulation. It's in our genes. And the fact that you risk almost nothing by enter a gunfight in this game, is what started this KoS trend. Where it doesn't come close to being accurate, is the human behavier. I don't think any game will ever be able to. -
Hmmm... I think you gain way more, in terms of senses from 3rd person, than you loose with 1st person. Neither are very realistic, but I would say that 1st person comes much closer to realism. Just my opinion though...

Raising Gamma/Brightness an Exploit?

It is an exploit, but it would be hard to do enything about it. I usually stay away from nighttime because it seems like most people do this, and I don't want to do it myself. It makes a very uneven battleground. I do however understand why people do it. -
Out of ammo, "serpentining"(spelling?), bullets flying round your ears and in 1st person with head-bobbing on. That is the greatest sence of panic/thrill i've had in this game. 3rd person takes away the immersion for me, and that gives everyone else (who use 3rd person) a big advantage. Unfortunately 3dp=off servers are rare, so I often have to bite the bullit and play against 3rd person players.

Agreed! Surprised to read 3 pages before someone said this. (Personally I would go even further, and remove all tents all together. Not gonna happen though, but thats my opinion)

That is not true. It would take an extreme sociopath to kill someone with little or no reason. Killing is very traumatic, with few exceptions. Ps. Sorry to hear you have those real life exp. -

Legit or not, this does look a bit fishy. I would wait for some confirmation by a more credible user (longer time on this forum/ more posts).
