any news on this? does BI have any plan or idea for the mod or do they just not care anymore? the mod is so great right now. where to throw my money at? anything else i could do? thx for anyone still fighting for this.

so, just to be clear, you say there is no new or updated EULA at all? nothing changed there? damned sure i do not trust BE or any other company to not misuse any private data they can get their hands on. btw i am not a shady individual with an agenda besides world peace and general freedom. it is very poor to attack vaild concerns about privacy in general with such a statement.

absolutely, just the other way around then you might think. when VAC was "protecting" CS after a short time it did not make any difference if you play on a VAC secured server or not. you wont stop terrorists... ahem... hackers through cutting in my privacy. nor should anybody be alllowed to do that without a REASONABLE SUSPICION.

yeah OK. but i will not agree to this terms. what can i do? I uninstall the game now because of that. can you point me to the place where i can get my refund? instead of trying to explain what is all wrong with this kind of approach i will just quote somebody who did all that in one sentence in one of his songs. a couple of days ago i played the mod and had a nice little experience. i came from cherno, had a cobra with 1 1/2 a 1911 with half a mag and some supplies (medical, food and stuff) but no melee weapon. on the server were around 20 people (2 i saw in cherno before i left). so i went to balota to look for some ammo and maybe a better backpack. it did not work out like i wanted it at balota, was hit one time when passing one which is my fault. did not find much besides a lot of Zs but i found some mags and left the airfiled with 2 1/2 mags for my kobra and still healthy. so l left a bit shaken through all the action there and went the small dirt way to the hills directon bor. i wanted to go to zelenogorsk next but thought of stopping in between to look for food and drinks (which can get really urgent fast). the first small house on the hill to the right i did not get closer after seeing a bunch Zs already tumbling through the fields. i did not want to shoot again so close so i made my way. the dirtroad ended at a small house in the woods. i was around 30-40 meters away and thought what a beautiful scenerie this is and if i could find something there. a Z came tumbling around the corner and i figured there could be something. covered in the woods i would risk a few bullets and make a quick check then go on to zele. a second Z came around but i knew that there is never only one so i killed the first one with a clean shot and went for the second. the sceaming from more Zs sounded not to good but i stayed and fired. my fire was getting more and more unaccurate with each Z getting closer. i sprayed 2 close to me down which i thought might be the last ones. a scream to my ear, i turn left and have on of those beasts hitting me right away. luckily not bleeding i backed up and killed him. just to notice that 4 or 5 more are coming my way i fled through the woods. i killed around 5 to 6 on the spot and was chased by another bunch. i wasted a whole mag and did not even check for loot. and after i lost them in the trees i felt no wish to go back there. i went on to zele and logged out in a tree a couple of minutes later. it was smiling and happy. it felt like in a movie. a small peacefull scenery with a geared survivor. what could go wrong? the stituation escalated so fast it was great. my reactions were emotional (run for your life) in the end and i was not prepared for the sheer amount of Zs on such a lonely spot. i really love this small scenes in the game and the mod delivers. i want the hive back this mod is worth it.

right. additionally there were some bike spawns nearby. this dayz was great.

nobody said that maradonna is an example of sportsmanship. where did you get that from? the whole point is that it was bad sportsmanship but is accepted/tolerated. maradonna is an idol where i come from in spite of the Hand of God. far mor so than pele or even beckenbauer (at least for the generation born in the 70ies/80ies; maybe because they saw him in his prime and the others not). your milage may differ.

i guess you are not living in germany than. disclaimer: i do not hate the 3 lions. i do not have any strong opinion about the falkland war besides war sucks. i do not think that wembley '66 can be revenged with anything not a final we (germany) win vs the 3 lions (not that it is very probable to see such a final in the near future). well, that is EXACTLY what this post was about and what the situation of the OP was (he was not in the mood for a fight). some guys tried to hijack the topic to make useless cases of "troll logging" and "hacker logging" or whatever.

like the post but you said something bad about dayz (mod) and so i just boo you. *boohhhh* dayz (mod) has gone a long way and is right now so great in regards of immersion and intensity. i am not sure if SA will catch up to it ever. to sad that the hyve went over board the moment dayz reached absolute greatness. not quite sure what you mean with details that are missing in dayz (mod). a million helmets and hats might be very detailed still does not make the game better for me. maybe you can elaborate a bit that i get the point?

yesterday i fired the longhorn and my buddy could only hear it when in front of me. he stood 10 m behind me and did not here anything when i shot. i hope that not only do the bugs get fixed (whenever it makes sense) but i want some more ambient sound. it is atumn. we have deers. sooo... ; ) some of the gunshots sounds are so terrible. reminds me of my childhood when we used toy guns with the red stripes as ammo. "knallplaettchen" in german. did not find an english word for it.

either i am dead or they are or i can run would cover 99% of all KoS contacts for me. sure there could be situations in the game (or any other) where you will log out for whatever reasons are enough for you (i do it to get away from trolls for instance). it always depends on the situation. while i would leave a server when i know a hacker is on i had a few hilarious experiences in dayz with hackers which i would not like to miss. did not play enough SA to meet one and am not eager to do so. lets not forget the topic started with a certain event/story. so the extreme examples are not the real topic i think. the general in game coward who combat logs to cover his in game faults or in game laziness is a lazy in game coward.

I would love to try the CZ-527 too but did not pick it up cause i have yet to see a mag for it. I used to carry a sportster due to abundance of ammo and mags i found. I can not rememeber where i found all the mags (i even dropped a 30 and 2x10 round mags to make some space) but you could be right i visited some mil loot spawns (office, police, barracks...). I found some arrows and finally a crossbow. Dropped my sportster for it. was quite surprised that i can not load the arrows into the crossbow (did not know that i may need bolts for it). and for my 1911 (was laying on the roof of a police car in vybor) i never saw a mag. so where can i find mags for the 1911 and bolts? only in mil? when the game will be balanced i hope that deer stands and 2 floor farms will get more interesting again. that were good places to loot for sneaky survivors in the mod. i still look at deer stands when i come around and hope that someday i will find gear there again.

i thought this is not possible anymore in the SA due to logout timer or whatever? combat logging is NOT OK. if i attack someone i fight it out or retreat. if i get surprised i give the opposition a fair chance to get their price. i now that panic and excitment can lead to weird decisions behind the keyboard but in general i stick to this. respect OP for coming back.

I disagree. First of all it is way more interesting for me to try to communicate with strangers over direct than with mates over TS. That is so obvious i feel ashamed to write it down. But it is important to understand that the contact to strangers is what is making this game different to a lot of other games. Although i have some very good experiences with staying friendly under stress and even found a gaming buddy (in the mod). Found him at the southern barracks NWAF at night. I had nightvision and was quite surprised to see someone lying in the barracks when i went there (heartbeat is going berzerc at contact in this kind of areas). I could barely keep my cool and did not fire at him but it paid off. We still play dayz together from time to time and tried some other games. Had similar experiences before but after a couple of weeks/sessions most of the time i stop contacting the people and so it runs dry. He was asking me to play SA again (i went back to the mod after the fantastic new version came out). I played on less populated servers (5-20) just for a couple of hours for the weekend. 1st stranger i met was in elektro power plant. I was running as with with a pretty fresh charakter (no weapon, no food) from 2 zeds into the hall of the firestation and got a shock when i saw someone with axe and sks sitting right under the stairs. So i was running straight back out when i heard the help screams from him. Well, I went back in. He was bleeding, broken leg, no ammo. But he had an axe. So i tried to lure the Zs to him which did work, he killed both. I dropped rags for him and he gave me his axe so i could get some sticks. I went outside to cut a bush for some sticks (never did that before). After the first bush the axe was ruined and i could not see the sticks. So i told him the situation and declared that i will not let him down and will search for sticks (i am not sure but i thought you can find them on the ground in woods?). I went to the Hershel farm to have a look where 2 Zs started to hunt me (still no weapon). So i went back to explain my difficulties when i noticed i have 3 sticks in my inventory (guess from the bush cutting). After he is fixed he decides to go to elektro with me to meet my buddy and mayebe even his group which should be on the way. Server restarts. Got kicked after few minutes everytime i try to join there now (damned clan servers). In the few hours i played i met 2 other strangers. A freshspawn in vybor (next to his dead friend?) and i gave him beanZ, soda and a morphine and rags (he was bleeding and had a broken leg). Protected him from Zs while he was bandaging and gave him some hints where in vybor were usefull stuff to loot (cause i just went through it). I did not give hime a pistol (which i do sometimes) because there was still something fishy with this guy so i moved fast out of town to a safe place to log out. Late at night i got the itch to just have a quick look at the military base for a mosin or a binocular. I choose an almost empty server (3 people besides me) cause i had enough contact and visuals for the few hours of game play (everytime i play i see someone which did not happen in the mod to me, maybe it is the longer view range or whatever). I ran to the first barracks (axe in hand) and see someone coming out of the second room just when i entered the building. Panic stricken i shout friendly don't shoot (around 3 a.m. germany, whatever my neighbours might have thought what is happening) while grabbing for the mic to check if it is muted (it was : ( did not expect to meet one tonight. boon error i know). All while he is aiming with his mosin point blank at me. In the end both of us kept cool and it was a really good contact. I gave him the scope for his mosin and he asked if i need somethig. I asked for mags for my 1911. He dropped down to mags for the amphibia. I think he did not notice that this were the wrong ones so i just said thank you to give him a good experience about a trade and we looted the area together and went our ways. That all happened in less then 6 hours playtime and my heart was beating like crazy in some of the moments. If i killed the guys my heart would barley notice after the shots were exchanged. It is still possible to have friendly or awkward contacts in dayz and i am quite happy about it. In an unreal amount of hours played in the mod i say the vast majority of contacts did not go this way (and that is cool with me, otherwise the tension would not be so high) and i bet that this were just lucky coincedences (for me and the strangers i met). But that is how i like it and why i almost always risk something to speak to people before i shoot or run. I never make a decision what to do at contact before the situation arises. A lot of friends of mine are like: "...but when we go there (NWAF...) we shoot on sight, no nonsense...", and i always say no. Do not give up cause of a bad streak of encounters. Try to learn if you could change something (behaviour, positioning, speech, voice...) to influnce the situation to your goals. Whatever makes you tick i guess.

Hi, after i tried the new patch (just for a couple of hours really) my first impressions are: IT IS REALLY GREAT! I noticed the thing with almost no restore when drinkin a soda. Was blinking red...drank a soda...blinking red a couple of seconds later again. I would agree that it feels to quick (to have to drink again) so maybe a bit of balancing would be good. All in all i am really impressed what the devs did here. Huge step in content and balancing and playabilty overall. I will play dayZ again and beat the drum for others to try it. Maybe this changes after more hours of playing but it felt like it is a game now which needs just a bit more tweaking. THX guys!

uhmm, never heard or saw something like that. does anyone have a link for boobs 'n gaming? sounds like a perfect combo to me. i never thought about it but the more i do the more i can see a business there. if i had boobs i might be rich is all i can think of now. maybe i could be a kind of pimp for "talented" female gamers. accepting applications per pm.

roll ftw crawling was always quite noisy. i do not even know...does rolling make sound in the SA?
