Aladinsane

So new player, I did a little reading, finally got the mod working and logged into a quiet UK server. I spawn next to the coast (suprise!) and figure im just west of cherno so i head into the town on my belly. Some time later Ive changed my controls and graphic settings, i spy what looks like a super market and head on over, weaving amongst the undead like a trooper. I get into the pre glasnost quik save and there is a load of items all over the floor, looks like beans and shotgun shells and pistol ammo. Paydirt I think and then try to pick them up, for some reason the green weapon icon wont display, no matter how much i try I cant get the items to activate, I slink into the back room to find a crossbow on the floor, mocking me as i fail to pick it up. I figure I will try a different server and log out here. back into the game on a fresh server I can pick up some beans and matches and ammo but alas no weapons:/ Now i notice a nice zombie cliping through the wall and flailing at me so i figure time to make like a tree and leaf. I swan dive into the grass like a balletic ferret and make for a close by house. Yay in the front room, is a nice shiny crowbar, I scoop it up and figure out how to "load" it and use it, yeah zombie infected fear me now I am the next door neighbour of Grodon Freeman! I decide to head for the hills with my new shiney weapon, thinking to find a barn or deer stand I hear so much about and maybe "gasp" a gun. Following some power cables up the hill I spot a likely farmstead with a small barn. Crawling in I hear the groans of a zombie, but hey I ive got a crowabr and beans so I bundle in ready for trouble. Inside I find three farmer zombies, flat caps, barber jackets and green wellies, the groan "getttt orrffff moi lannnnd" as I swing into them with my crowbar. Now at this point I realise maybe i should have tried the weapon out on a single zombie as my swings do very little, and im soon down on the ground with a broken leg, as i try to get away i see a winchester in the corner of the barn "fffufuuuuu111" as I im knocked out and pull into pieces by the rabid rural ramblers. well better luck next time :/ (coming soon death by othordox priest)
