DayZ: A neat game with no endgame

TL:DR OP wants to play Dead Island.
  3. A. Yes you just referenced that this is an ARMA 2 mod and not a big budget RPG. Cool. I already said that. B. This isn't an RPG. IDK why people expect Rocket to put in pve monster hunting. There are other, better games about fighting monsters. C. Can you give me an actual Zombie Attack as a reference for how people act during zombie outbreaks?

    DayZ standalone game.

I remember when Age of Chivalry was going to be a stand alone game using Unreal 3 engine. They announced it 4 years ago or so. Then, it became really obvious that the guys who made the mod weren't actually game developers (shocker there am I right?) and as of 4 years development, their latest build has people skating around on the ground and can't handle for than 5 people on screen at a time. Enjoy the mod, but enjoy it for what it is. A mod.
  5. List of games that aren't perfect and never will be, but are still extremely fun when you don't expect them to be. 1. Day Z
  6. As opposed to meeting new people, then grouping up to shoot zombies and find loot. Dude I think people are really expecting too much from this mod. There is no such thing as a video game that stays fun when you play it for 8 hours a day for a month. An ARMA 2 mod isn't going to be the first one that does.
  7. You seem to vastly underestimate how hard developing a mod is. Especially for a game as crappy as Arma 2 is to begin with. This isn't an MMORPG. You aren't supposed to be hunting for loot and flying around on dragons. It is a survival simulator. in the real world the strong survive. Not the ones who beg for life to be easier.
  8. I think this game is what Rocket wants it to be. It's his game. I'm sure he will change it accordingly. But this game isn't being made by Infinity Ward, so its not going to get weekly patches that fix everything.
  9. Not just that, but without the bandits, this game is really thin on stuff to do. Once you find matches and a knife, you are fairly set outside of getting sniped.
  10. The lack of learning curve is what is making this game popular. The scripting of weapons is causing this sniper problem. I can deal with a lot of bugs and issues. It's a free mod for god's sake. People around here act like this is Guild Wars 2.

    Law to Lawless Lands

    Lol raiding. MMO terms go.
  12. I don't believe this guy has been playing for that long without getting teleported and killed by a hacker. And even then the fun of this game is the beginning, not the pvp at the end. If you consider shooting each other in Elektro the meta for this game, then obviously it won't satisfy you. I stay away from Elektro because every time i go there i find a dead body with all the items on it. There's no fun in that.
  13. So this dude is upset because he played an FPS mod for 500+ hours and he is bored? This isn't an MMO. The fact that an FPS mod made by a small team of independents kept you busy for 500 hours is a testament to how talented Rocket's team is. SWTOR (recent 60 dollar MMO) barely has 500 hours of total content for a hardcore player. This game (ARMA 2 mod) held you for longer than most modern professional titles. I'll tell you what you do now. You send Rocket a thank you letter for 2 weeks worth of nonstop free entertainment.
