    So what about Land of the Dead, which exists within the Canon of Romero Zombie Fantasy and has zombies that run, AND zombies that use guns. Just because you and the OP have only seen 2 movies, that doesn't mean the games zombies aren't "correct".

    I actually went north of Balota and found a boar, then cut him up. I didnt grab the steaks off the body, and that pissed me off. Then I got lost again, because I have 0 sense of direction, and I went to ear Spaghetti. But the original way I presented the story flowed better.

    Anyone can get those guns, they just need to get there and find them. And the guns still do enough damage, I think the people in this thread are a little too upset that you cant kill zombies with one hit using any weapon. Especially since a lot of them are also clamoring for "tougher zombies".

    Clearly everyone quit Call of Duty after 3 days. You need to accept that Day Z is a shooter mod and not a story based RPG.

    I wouldn't mind seeing zombie hordes spawn in the winderness though. It's too easy to retreat to safety.

    I still don't understand how shooting people in a first person shooter is considered pvp. Do people want quests in Day Z now too?
  10. I don't ever go onto any other first person shooter and meet random new people and play with them WoW style. There is no way that they can force people to not want to take each other's stuff. It's this same carebear crap that ruined MMOs and killed Ultima Online.

    Snipers wouldn't be a problem if the rifles were rare. Thanks to server hopping and script hacking, Every bandit has one.

    He is complaining that the zombies aren't mmo monsters. I believe he wants there to be more rpg elements. This isn't dead island.

    I stopped going to Elektro because there are always dead bodies there filled with scripted in items. Defeats the purpose of the game when you find a dead body with every survival item and a G36 on it.

    How can a mod of a finished game be in alpha? The bugs don't bother me because this is a mod. I don't expect a small team of indie guys to make a technically perfect game. The core concept is there and its fun. And Free. So hey, what's to complain about?
  17. This. This game obviously isn't a PVE shooter, or there would be dungeons and I wouldn't be playing it. This isn't Battlefield 3, or I'd have to wear a uniform and I wouldn't be playing it. Giving bandits a skin that lets everyone know they are bandits breaks immersion completely. Also, it wouldn't even fix the issue of people who trick you into shooting at them so they get the kill without being a bandit. People need to stop acting like this is a 150 million dollar shooter and accept that it is an ARMA 2 mod, and then they will be much more impressed with the product that is being presented.

    No one else here is aware of how ludicrous it is tho assume people (mainstream people) will spend money to play a game where all of the survival items are glued to the floor and 90 percent of the houses are identical with no interiors? Come on guys. Lets be realistic.

    I think people are expecting the guns in this game to be tiered like weapons in modern RPGs. This is a sandbox, playing for longer shouldn't = stronger avatar.
  22. If there is ever a zombie apocalypse I will murder anyone who hinders my ability to survive and ensure that I continue living. People who think there is a place in an animalistic world for sentiment and emotional attachment get killed in a crisis with insurmountable odds. The fact that you need others for social interaction is a weakness in a situation such as this. You will do anything to see them survive, and you become dependent.

    Even if he gets investors, I don't think this game can be a standalone for at least 3-4 years. Have you ever noticed how the Arma 2 items are fairly decent looking, and every custom texture in the game looks really bad? That's because ARMA is professionally made, and Day Z is an indie game.

    If this game gets a stand alone game it wont be for 3 more years at this pace. Seems like BI does more development for Day Z with Arma 2 patches than the Day Z team does.

    Also, you guys are aware that a lot of guns "do the same damage" in real life because they have similar rounds and firing technologies. Guns aren't like swords from World of Warcraft. Finding a rarer gun doesn't let you kill people faster.
