Think back now...is it possible that guy was the hacker??? Because you can't trigger a satchel inside a vehicle...you must place it on the ground then detonate it. He may have been your hacker doing something awesome all along.

Bandits beware Cody Lundin is not as easy a target as you may think. I hear he has a silent protector.

Alright people should do a little ARMA research before they say the engine is bad. They are just nit picking because this is a mod in alpha that has bugs.....While they are at it they should research alpha as well. If BF or COD is so much better...then why the fuck you playing DayZ?

Yeah I'm a west coast American and I speak very little German. Like a couple words and I think those "Hitler Reaction Videos" are f***in stupid.

Finding weapons is far too easy. It should be much harder to find them and when you do, ammunition should be scarce.
-
Sorry I didn't explain enough. Here watch this Rocket talks about it a bit. Right around 6:10 As far a as "Bandit" goes I believe there should be no visual indication that a person is a "Bandit" Whatever Rocket decides is best after all it's his creation.

The mechanics already in the making. Over time a player will grow out hair his/her clothes will become more dirty and ripped. Jeffrey Dahmer didn't have a black mask over his head so the police could see that guy is killing people. The way the game is to work is human interaction and puzzle solving...puzzle meaning situations not blocks and switches damnit

Anyone at anytime should always have the ability to shoot someone in the back. It's realistic. "People shoot on site - no questions asked - no attempt to open dialogue." You sir have lost hope in humanity.

I haven't heard that one yet and it's so simple that's actually not a bad idea. Just a couple basic phrases for those how don't have a mic. Half of the time someone is killed during a confrontation is due to the inability to respond.

Ok, so friendly fire will never be turned off. Earlier versions of the mod I believe had a visual indication that someone was a bandit. But it was removed to provide more realism. The player must trust his instincts to survive. I do believe that there is one thing though, if you put your cross hair over a person at close range a heart beat sound can be faintly heard telling you he has killed before. But don't be too quick to judge many players have acquired a murder or two protecting themselves or a friend. No server set teams will ever be in place. It is all player created. Rocket is making the best game in the world and we are helping shape it. If it were easy. It would have a title including words like "Call" or "Duty" No one is going to hold your hand in the wasteland. Unless you have a big gun and a can of beans.

American currency is worthless in South Zagoria, especially since the beginning of the apocalypse.I think there is a new Left 4 Dead game coming out, maybe you would be happier over there!? -
New players don't want a negative experience of Dayz!

Logging in and finding yourself on a beach alone in the dark with a bandage some painkillers and a flashlight, finding your way into town to find out that the inhabitants are severely infected with an unknown rage inducing sickness. Running for your life and possibly being shot by someone who just wanted to take that can of beans you found. Then logging out in anger and going to the dresser to change your pants. Yeah I think that's pretty much the first class DayZ first time experience. I don't see anything wrong with it. -
Uh, whats the damn music from it's driving me crazy!!!

Although it may not be worth anything to most of you, all of my group consider it a luck charm. Well all but one, he was cursed by the Holy Dew for thinking blasphemous thoughts. He openly spoke of consuming The Dew. Not moments later an unseen force pushed him from the castle walls. The Holy Dew of The Mountain protects us, brings us game and shelter. But The Dew can also breathe death upon those who wish to misuse it's otherworldly contents.

Yeah Lite uses the low res textures only. How good it "pretty good"??. ARMA 2 is one of those games that you can always use better hardware. With enough power it can be downright F***ING BEAUTIFUL!

All your hacking problems are due to this and NOT the DayZ dev team....
Kykle replied to Dirty Rotten Scoundrel's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The engine isn't restricted to them, they have full control. The problem is with this engine everyone has control. ARMA 2 is meant to be changed by adding a script. The problem is that the game ARMA 2 isn't restricted so the Mod suffers due to the huge amount of people that play it. Before the DayZ mod the ARMA community was pretty straight forward honest simulation players for the most part. But with this horde of people pouring in thinking its a new zombie first person action shooter....it attracts the kiddies and the kiddies like to cheat. I don't literally mean kids. This GAME isn't a game. It's a mod, it isn't a game yet it isn't complete. It's still in Alpha. so by the time it gets to the status of GAME. Most of these problems will be gone. -
Yes, you and Josh were forced to shoot a fleeing woman who didn't have have a firearm multiple times. Waited for her to wake up then shot her twice in the head. To get her beans, if that isn't a bandit I don't know what is. lol

Change in Blood Levels, due to new Beta Patch.
Kykle replied to Zeromentor's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Wouldn't it make more sense for the weapon damage values to just be readjusted??? I want to use the .45 Revolver so bad, but putting 4 rounds in Lala's chest and 2 in his face.....then him shooting me changed my mind. -
Ever thought of this? We are using TV's and monitors to see in game. There are only so many pixels. The distance you can see detail on, lets say a 28" monitor without zooming is unrealistic. The human eye can see far more detail over distance than a small box that is displaying a picture of which the resolution is far smaller than what the human eye can see. Zooming is used to compensate for that lack of detail. ARMA 2 alone is a military simulator, zooming is there for a reason. Your suggestion is similar to people wanting to remove all HUD from DayZ. But not having a visual indicator of hunger and thirst (a feeling) would make it less realistic.

Finally found this type of suggestion. A friend and I talked about it a bunch. The ARMA 2 mission editor already contains the ability to do most of the work for this kind of alteration. Problem is that because of the shear amount of buildings in Chernarus, this could be quite taxing on a server. But this is our version of this idea. Individual or small groups of buildings outside of towns and cities could be affected directly as where in a city it should work by sections. When near a building the already set number of infected spawn, when that amount is exterminated while a player is within the vicinity of the building, it becomes lets call it "player controlled". (Not to be confused with "owned") No more infected will spawn until the player/s leave the vicinity. Also to protect DayZ, no visual or audio indications should be given. Naturally the player is required to decide if it is safe. So in a city it would be groups of buildings. Large groups, to the point that it is pointless to try unless you have a large team capable of protecting the cleansed district. We like this idea because it makes it more possible to manually create a "Safe Zone" or whatever you want to call it. Without the the problem of Infected spawning inside a secured perimeter. Server control can do this, I believe that is how locations such as Freetown and GMSRadio are possible. But smaller scale and natural on the fly secured locations would be nice.
