Its actually an Asus ROG Crosshair V. Like I said, I tried shutting it down, but thanks for the advice, as I usually leave it open; I may have to address that :)

Alrighty, was browsing around the forums, found a few useful posts in this area, but nothing recent, and I tried all solutions contained therein. Issue in a nutshell: I played Day Z for months, took a break waiting for 1.7.3 - it finally released, yay! So back into DayZ I go Load up Day Z commander, update everything, and start joining servers; everything is working great, lobby ping = between 25 and 65 depending on server, let's get this show on the road! But Wait! BattleEye Kicked: Ping too high (900+). Wtf!? I live in Alberta, Canada - and I have tried every single server thats using latest versions and shows pings < 100 in DZC and I get the same result from all of them. As I said, I then browsed around the hinternets looking for a solution, and have tried all of them -Playing with router settings (firewalling, shit I even tried DMZ'ing it) : Check -Pinging servers independently in the background outside DayZ : Check - also the independent server pinging nearly always lined up with DZC pings -Join server located as close as possible geographically to your location : Check -Restart Router: Check -Restart Computer: Check -Re-Install all ARMA2 software and DayZ: Check -Try joining servers from inside game interface, six launcher, as well as DZC: Check I custom built my comp and my MB came with Connection monitoring software that lets you prioritize processes as well as settings to maximize ping vs bandwidth; I used that software to give DayZ max priority as well as favor ping. I also, for the sake of covering all bases, disabled that software. No improvement. I have a 50mb/s connection (6MB/s max dl, 2MB/s max ul). I play wow, eve online, CS:GO, CS:S, and several other online games regularly and have not encountered anything remotely like this at all, ever. Please tell me this is an ARMA2 problem or something, because It cannot possibly be my connection. Thanks for any help. P.S. The people who respond to people in "Troubleshooting" in an unhelpful manner and derail threads are doing a great deal of harm, specifically to people who are trying to look up solutions to their problems. There was a thread where someone was having the same issue as me and mentioned that "they paid 20$ for DayZ". The immediate response from several people was the canned "derp, no, you paid 20$ for arma2". While true, it had no bearing on the issue - and while the individual posting the thread should have left that off to avoid derailing, it became the entire focus of the thread (although there were a few helpful responses which I tried and didn't alleviate my issues).

Just an observation, and very short (promise) emo rage. Anyone else finding that servers you have been playing on for a while have been vanishing lately? with the newest patch you cant store in tents after the initial save. So, I made 6 camps in the same location across 6 servers, each with similar gear. In the last 2 weeks every single one of those servers is no longer available. Oh well, GW2 is out now; here's hoping for a new patch soon. Chin up, gentlemen, we're in for heavy weather.

Hero achieved, wearing ghillie suit
Nick_Nac replied to Anarchyihdi's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Posting from work :) Nice to see other people pushing for heroic awesomeness - on a side note, there should be a distinguishing feature between hero and bandit regardless of skin (slightly off colored ghillies for humanity status maybe? standard for -5000 to 5000, darker green for hero brown-ish for bandit - something like that that maintains the difference between hero and bandit but still functions as awesome camo.) The bug that drops you to 0 every now and then is indeed temporary, but it is disconcerting when you're trying to push it up (or down, I guess, if you play for the other team). Hero or not, you're a fool if you pass up a ghillie, the advantages of being nigh invisible in the right circumstances drastically outweigh the advantages of cruising around in a plaid shirt that screams "shoot me"; even if the latter makes you (slightly) more likely to be engaged as a friendly. Context: I am a Ghillie-suited, SVD camo wielding, L85 toting, m9 SD zombie blastin Hero, pushing 31k humanity. Woot Heroes Representin'! -
Totally healthy man or woman, Trips on a rock. Breaks ankle. Injects dose of morphine, Leg *ankle* is no longer broken. Edit: lol, legs arent ankles, silly. - Arguing based on realism vs non realism is silly, its purely a question of what I (and apparently others) view as a silly game mechanic. Havent had the pleasure of a door breaking my legs, so that will be fun to look forward to. Side idea, Random bone breaks: how about breaking it down to 4 limbs, if you break one leg, you can limp slightly slower than walking. Break both legs, crawl. Break left arm, cant use 2 handed guns, break right arm and your aim is drastically less precise (and you're using your left hand). This pie in the sky idea might not be possible; but it would be a hell of a lot better than randomly breaking both legs. Edit: Also, just thought of it, break both arms... turns you into a hilarious piece of zombie bait, who will either die or very quickly learn about losing zombie in buildings with two entrances. Also, logically, you wont be able to vault. And of course, Morphine will still cure AIDS... I mean Cancer... I mean... yeah, morphine will still cure everything :)

Sorry, I'm at work with an aircard, I use the internet for like a few minutes at a time (load up a shitload of forums posts/articles, shut down aircard due to... monitored bandwidth usage - they dont see what I do, just how much data is uses). Didnt want to spend the time searching for threads Also; had to share my personal tragedy.

So, I've been playing the game for a couple weeks now. As an eve player, I'm absolutely jazzed to find a fun F/TPS with a genuine death penalty. I finally managed to put together a survival kit (hatchet, knife, matches), flashlight shottie, ALICE pack, etc... I manage to trudge my way to the NW airbase (finally!). I had been at like 1300 blood upon leaving elektro (pvp hurts, yo). Through hunting on my way up I had 12000 blood, absolutely full. So I hike out onto the airbase, pull a couple zombies into a hangar, blast them, ONE zombie hit me ONCE. BAM - broken leg. I'm familiar with the HTFU mentality (eve player, regular eve PVP'er) I'm familiar with loss; and its what makes this mod awesome. However - 12000 blood, one hit, broken leg? just... wow. Thats my primary issue is the notion of randomly getting a broken bone when at 12000, I would think the chance should be 0 at 12000, and increase on a linear scale (capping out at an arbitrary % at an arbitrary blood amount; e.g. 50% bone break chance at 1000 blood maybe?) Therein ends the primary content of my post; call it a begrudging bitch, I'm used to loss; I've lost 1.5 billion ISK strategic cruisers, faction battleships, countless smaller ships in EVE - its the nature of the game. INB4 posts about medics/morphine: You're right about morphine, I didnt have any. I did call out for a medic, got one to come all the way to NW base. I logged on - night time server, 7 people logged onto server, as soon as I spawned *BANG BANG BANG* "You Are Dead" Just feels like bullshit is all. Thanks for reading. TL;DR - 1 Zombie hit @ 12k blood should not a broken bone make - EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER. /rant

Attempted rescue by RaidenBrayden He made it all the way to the NW airbase hangar for me, unfortunately a no good dirty pirate (eve speak) decided to pop me just as he arrived at the hangars. Kudos to the attempt, fast turnaround considering my location -
