    Post Your Gear So Far

Didn't lose my character during the patch but did lose a day or so worth of kit which ripped the campstove, cookpot, and kitchen knife away from me but I've found a hacksaw frame and blade as well as a rifle cleaning kit and a weaponlight for my pistol. Found some spray paint and tried it on my rifle, could only paint the buttstock. Saddened that I couldn't use the rest of the can on my rucksack.

Base Building - What would you like to see?

It sounds like you want to be able to homestead which sounds pretty interesting. Being a bowhunter myself I'd be keen on seeing pack-able tree-stands introduced which could be used for hunting as well as in an observation post role.

Spend most of my time hiding in the woods at a little camp I have to stay away from whatever it is that made those poor people sick like that. I don't know if was something in the air but I found this mask and having it puts me at ease so I wear it. Staying in the woods helps protect me from those maniacs that shoot at anything that moves. I only slip into town when I get low on supplies and can't do without any longer.

    Question about raw meat

Before killing animals for food you will need the "hunting knife" item in your inventory. Once you have that and are kneeling before a fresh kill you will be provided with a "gut animal" action menu option in your "wheel mouse" scroll menu. Once completed with gutting the animal an appropriate amount of "raw meat" items will appear for you to add to your inventory. To cook the meat so that you or your mates can consume it you will need fire. You can use the fire barrels found in different places around Chernarus or you can use the "box of matches" that is hopefully in your inventory and in a flat obstruction free area you can create a fire to which will allow you to then cook the meat so that it can be consumed. As stated earlier, you will have to "extinguish the fire" if you plan to create another later when you plan to cook more raw meat.

    What's a bandit look like?

They are the BLUFOR KSK units and they look like this in game.
  6. Subo, If either of you have the "map" item in your game inventory you can use this very handy tip to help with your "link-up." Open the map by pressing the "M" button and then move your cursor to the place that you plan to travel to or meet up at, press and hold the "left shift" button and "left click" on that place. Close the map and look in the direction that you intend to travel and in game you will now see a personal waypoint with a small arrow and your distance from that position on the horizon. This will assist you in getting to where you want to be and also allow you to sort out an alternative route but still continue to move in the correct direction if natural, zombie, or bandit type obstacles appear in your path. To delete the personal waypoint you simply have to hold your cursor over that waypoint marker on the map and press your "delete" key. You will only be able to have one of these personal waypoints on the map at one time but you can create, delete, and recreate them as often as you please. This is not a feature native to the Day Z mod but the default ArmA 2 engine itself. Hopefully that will help you get linked up and working together very soon.
