    Your Shoot On Sight Threshold?

I KOS everyone except people without guns, if im on the beach with a vehicle however i will kill them anyway because of the risk that they steal gear/take the car.

    Multi-suggestion thread

@KnT47r I've seen videos of a 50 calibre barrett sniper rifle (M107 in dayz which is the military version) hit a human, their entire body is shredded into peices and most of their body is lifted into the air because of the sheer velocity and size of the round. The rangefinder does not have mildots or thermal. the DMR has no zeroing tool but a spotter with these optics would be able to tell the sniper how high to aim (because of the customizable optics of the spotter scope.) Aside from that, you don't commonly stumble across a pair of rangefinders and as i stated above it would create a teamwork element and also the chance to find these optics would be higher than rangefinders.

    Multi-suggestion thread

Hi everyone, before I list my suggestions I realise they may have been suggested before now but as I'm listing so many I really couldn't be bothered searching for them. These suggestions are things that I believe would make the game better. Before I begin I would like to say I absolutely love this mod and I realise It's in alpha and that the dev team are always learning new tricks to help improve the game, even if half of one of these suggestions is used by the time the game is released I'll be happy. The forest isn't threatening enough for a zombie survival game, in reality if a zombie apocalypse happened a few zombies would enter the forest searching for meat (people and animals) but obviously that could create a fairly bad climate for new players especially if zombies spawn in forests. so what i suggest is an immersion zombie, similar to The Slenderman, it never attacks you but appears occasionally at the edge of your vision, once you see it it will immediately dissapear. This creates an aura of foreboding around forests and makes it more immersive, perhaps call it a evolved Zed, or perhaps there's a town far north that was particularly badly affected (or affected normally but then an introduction of nuclear waste deformed the zombies) Something along those lines.. This also opens up the opportunity for experienced and well geared squads to explore that town getting higher than average loot with the exception of all food and drink because of the radiation, a possible addition of a gas mask item so that they can actually explore that town may be viable also. This idea is open to reconstruction. Im sure this one has been mentioned elsewhere but ill mention it here. I believe the dev team should immediately focus on zombie pathing and animations, im sure its a challenging task seeing as the arma 2 engine was never built for them but if its something to work on I reckon this should be a priority. Player animations, Specifically death animations to make it easier to see if someone has actually died. Different animations for standing and running/sprinting, walking. crouch running and walking etc etc. (This is more aimed at the fact when i head shot a person with a AS50 in the body they sort of just crumple and lie down instead of flying about 2 metres back from the force of the bullet (in reality there would be alot more gore but that's not really a good idea to implement) Death animations would be COOL but not NEEDED until end of production. Lag, im not sure why it's like this but alot of the time when you see a person (and zombies) running through a forest or town and you shoot at them they lag around because the bullet might be conflicting with their pathing. (On the servers i play i get 20-40 ms and the lag that i see on other players including my friends with a similar ping also lag around abit) This is abit immersion breaking but i understand its probably a hard problem to fix. Splints!!!!!! I cannot stress enough how much I would love to have splints in the game, Piece of wood, 1-2 bandages to wrap it tightly. I think morphine should allow you to run around for 15 minutes with a broken leg, but to actually heal it you need a splint with another 15 minute timer on it. while you have a splint on your leg you cannot run or stand up, you can only crouch and run/walk or prone. If you take morphine while you have a splint on it can either A. Speed the healing process up. B. Allow you to run and stand. C. completely heal the leg straight away. (personally i would like a small mix of A and B, maybe 5 minutes off the timer and allowing you to run.) The reason morphine would have a 15 minute timer is so that you have time to run off to a hospital where you can find Medical splints (they take 3 slots instead of the 2 that a homemade splint would take) that heal twice as fast, more morphine and bandages. You can also use it to find an axe or a pile of logs. More lootable buildings would be cool, Say a town has 2 lootable buildings with a 20% chance to spawn a can of food in each house. If you had 10 lootable buildings all with a 5% chance to spawn a can of food you are rewarded for searching every building available because you would need to search 4 buildings to have that 20% chance but if you looted all 10 you would be rewarded with an extra 10% chance. This creates more realism as all houses are enterable IRL, creates more opportunity for PvP and also PvE. All guns come as stock without sights or silencers, finding compatible silencers and sights for guns would allow more versitility within the game, If you find sights that fit on most if not all assault rifles (kobra for example) It would be cool to pick and choose which weapons you want to attach it to, this goes for silencers aswell. Portable spotter sights, these take up your main weapon and you must lay them on the ground to use them but allow you to accurately estimate the distance of the target (like the rangefinders, These should be much less rare seeing as it takes a second person to use them and they cannot use a main weapon themselves.) Pros- Accuracy for snipers and a teamwork element like real sniper spotter teams. (perhaps even give them night vision or thermal so that the spotter can quickly see a target, the sniper would be needed to be told EXACTLY where the enemy was if they were using thermal.) Cons- Main weapon taken up for the spotter, small setup time to place them down and its easier to see two people proning next to each other than just a sniper. Picture-http://www.google.co...94&tx=101&ty=49 More audio sounds for zombies and players alike. New skins for zombies, and ofcourse players aswell. with a large variety of basic clothing you can change within the character screen where you choose male or female it could help quickly identify a friend or foe. In real life this would be a technique used. These are all i can think of at the moment but ill probably add to it over time.
