You can also check the difficulty of the server, it should be displayed in the info at the bottom of the server browser. Veteran servers tend to be first person and Regular are usually third person. Veteran servers also never have crosshairs, as far as I've seen, whereas they sometimes appear on Regular ones. -

EU4 Day/Night Cycle Tampering

Heya, I'm the EU4 admin, thought I'd clear a few things up. The server used to be permanent day, but the method we used (Changing the server's clock while DayZ was down), had nothing to do with the aforementioned hacks that are causing rocket server problems. We cleared that up with him separately, and hopefully he's alright with us now. We now run a few hours out of sync with real time, which is perfectly allowed by the rules and won't break anything. The server time is just saying we're in America, while the server is in Europe. This is just because me and my clan tend to only be able to play in the evening/at night, and don't really enjoy the play during night time. This just keeps us from bogging down US servers and messing things up with our poor pings. I'll agree with SixPackAbs when he says the other thing is likely desync, exactly the same thing has happened to me, strangely enough, just with zombies instead of another survivor! Desync isn't always lag related, the server consumes a lot of bandwidth, especially with the rampant connection spamming that goes on, and that can sometimes be an issue. Hope you haven't been put off too much and consider coming back to us, and if you have any more issues please don't hesitate to get in touch! -

Right-o , I'll just leave it on reverse time, then. There'll be one last time change, to get it in a decent place, then it'll be left alone, I guess. Just to clarify, no exploits were involved, I was simply changing the server's local time, only while the DayZ server was down, it was never changed while connected to the database or running the mission, nor have I edited any part of the mod, or run any scripts to interfere with the way the server runs. I understand that you might be upset at a lot of people with they way they have managed this issue, but I assure you, I'm one of the good guys :) However, I'm more than happy to leave it on reverse time, saves me a lot of effort. We're now running at UTC-6! -

Once I've fixed our stability issues, you're also very welcome on EU4. Same setup as EU5, from the looks of things, and we have Permaday running (When I remember to set it!) -

Been having a few problems with server crashes, everything seems to be ok now, so hopefully we'll be stable for a bit longer! -
Can we get a warning before servers restart please?

If I'm doing a manual restart, I will always send people a warning via admin chat, but sometimes the server will crash, and I know some servers have automatic restarts to keep scripts (Like zombie spawning or looting, as mentioned) from breaking. I'd like to think most admins make some attempt to warn people, but a lot of time it's unavoidable. -

It is indeed 50 slot, and I might be upping that in a day or two, going to see how we do at peak times. The server itself lives in Germany, so it should get decent ping to all of Europe *fingers crossed*. You would be perfectly welcome, as long as you aren't bandits ;-). -
