I only read the OP, but I have to add my 2 cents: before this patch, the game pushed WAY too far towards the PvP side. I'm excited to see if the PvP actually does decrease a bit.

Hey all, I'm looking for people who want to group up for an authentic DayZ experience. I really can't get into any of the other maps besides Chernarus, and private hives always give BS starting gear or are chock full of vehicles or have some pay to win donation thing going on. 28 Days Later was the real kick off of the modern zombie phenomenon, and the zombies of DayZ behave much more like the zombies of 28 Days Later than the zombies of The Walking Dead, so if you're going to partially credit any movie/TV show with the success of DayZ it should be 28 Days Later. Even the title DayZ was probably at least subconsciously inspired by 28 Days Later.

Let me start off by saying I think the ability to be killed at any time by other players is one of the things that makes DayZ so amazing and intense. However, it pisses me off that 90% of players shoot survivors on sight. In a real zombie apocalypse, I don't think MOST people would do that. So a suggestion I have on how to limit this for people who want ultra-realism and still maintain things the way they are for those who just want a PVP game is to label some servers as RP servers. In these servers, players would be expected to treat their characters as they would act in real life, i.e. caring about the survival of the human species, recognizing strength in numbers, etc. Obviously this needs more fleshing out if it were to actually be implemented, but I think it could be a good direction to create a better experience for those who want more of an RPG instead of an FPS deathmatch.

I'm a fairly seasoned player, but am happy to play with newbies. Just looking for a group to have some fun with, maybe find some vehicles, set up a camp, kill some bandits. Add me on Steam and message me if interested. Name there is The Black Smoke.

I'm in Berezino on US 3218. Got trolled hard here. The hacker has since been kicked. If someone could bring me an epi-pen, I'd be forever grateful.

I am currently logged on US 3218, and the time is 1:52 PM EST. These events started about 15 minutes ago. While I was minding my own business looting Berezino, a window similar to the old debug monitor popped up on my screen with the words "Monky Monitor". It displayed everything the old debug monitor had: bandit kills, murders, blood, etc. People started talking about it on side chat, and a guy named Nathan admitted he loaded it, and that it was "only helping us" and that it was some form of anti-hack. About a minute later BattleEye kicked me from the server (presumably because this script was loaded to my character). Well I rejoined and told the guy his script was not helping. A few minutes later a message came up at the bottom of the screen where the location is displayed when you log in saying a player named Nick was kicked by "Monk Anti-Hax" for having a hacked item. About 2 minutes later Nick rejoins and asks what happened, saying that he just opened a tent and got kicked. I replied that Nathan was running a hack that was responsible for him getting kicked. A few seconds later, my character falls to the ground unconscious, and the timer is not going down. I relogged, but I am still unconscious, and the timer is decreasing VERY slowly. It's now been over 10 minutes, and the timer is still at about 90%. At one point while writing this post, I alt+tabbed back into the game and saw that Nathan was kicked for teleporting. So is there any way I could get my character back up without waiting hours to play again?

Well since I made this post, I went out to get some food while leaving the game on so that maybe the timer would go down. When I got back, the screen was all black with a message in the middle that said "yo bitch suck my monky". I could not do anything except close the game by ctrl+alt+delete. So I joined the server again and the timer was all the way full again. A few minutes later, Nathan killed the whole server. At least I can play now, but this guy deserves a global ban.

Having a vehicle will make it easy to travel back to this location to equip new members and re-equip anyone who dies Build up supplies of weapons and vehicles Set up tents at strategic points along the coast Start taking out bandits at Cherno/Elektro. The tents set up along the coast will make this possible Build ranks, do it all over again on a new server, etc. This is open to all ages and all experience levels with or without a mic. How is that proof of anything?

From my current experience, there are 3 methods of losing aggro: Run inside a building Run up a hill Run through bushes/trees/around buildings Number 3 is good in theory, but numbers 1 and 2 are way too easy and unrealistic. I also feel that number 3 is harder to execute than it should be. The problem with numbers 1 and 2 is that they are too tedious and also too reliable, making the game too easy. All of these issues boil down to zombie movement speed. They are too easy when they're slow, and too difficult when they're fast. Slowing down the outdoor speed and speeding up the indoor/on a hill speed would give players more interesting and fun options for how to ditch aggro, as well as increase realism.
