    DayZ-the movie

Most of the elements, if not all, in DayZ already exist in zombie/infection outbreak films I.E gathering supplies, meeting survivors, fighting bandits, stumbling across military bases. A lot of people may just see it as "another zombie film". DayZ is great to play, but i doubt it would be the same as a movie.

    Favorite DayZ map?

I haven't played lingor enough to say it's my favourite, although i did enjoy it a lot more than chernerus (mainly because pretty much every building is accessible. I've never played takistan, but i'm going to give it a try soon. Seeing as i've only used an online map once, i still find chernerus fun to play :D

How about a map with snow weather

find footprints in the snow Tracks them for hours Realises you've been tracking your own footprints... *facepalm*
  4. When i imagine a situation like this happening in real life, I would imagine a lot of people will be murdering eachother for simple things such as food, water or even weapons. You're trying to survive. Politely saying "hello!" to every armed person you meet is going to severely decrease your chance of survival. Example: You're starving, thirsty and only have a few bullets left in your weapon. You see a person with a bag filled with everything you need and they have not seen you yet. You would have 3 choices in this situation: 1) Say hi to the person and hope they offer you their food (this could lead to death) 2) Shoot them before they have a chance to turn around and loot them (low chance of death) or 3) Go in the other direction and hope to find this stuff somewhere else (could easily lead to death)
  5. My character was probably on his 15th day (not long for some haha) of survival. I decided to try out lingor island just to see how it was. I thought it was good but i wanted to get back to the original map because of my gear. I was doing the usual, making silly noises at the "wait a moment..." screen, screaming at the "loading..." screen for taking too long, when all of a sudden "please choose your gender" appeared..... My instant reaction: "WHAT THE FUCK HAS HAPPENED I BETTER NOT HAVE LOST ALL MY STUFF OMGOMGOMGOMG QQ" Next thought: "What if it's just glitched out?! I'm sure my character will still be there" My thought after i loaded into the game: "....DA....FUQ?!??!!?" I suspect that playing on lingor island had caused my character to delete on the original map, but i read that it would not affect my original character. I also remember being near the north-east airfield. i laid down, logged out like normal, and that was it. I have two questions; 1) has anyone else experienced this after playing lingor island? 2) Are there any other possible explanations for it?

My thoughts on KoS and general PvP

I normally leave a survivor to their business if he/she hasn't seen me. if i see someone kill an unarmed player. I make sure a bullet goes into their head :)

    mental goings on!

Not long ago, i was with a couple of survivors that i had met and after a while two if them started arguing over bandages. One of the guys wanted his rifle back from the other guy and then everybody started arguing over different things. Trust had gone out of the window at this point... 4 men that used to trust eachother, now pointing their guns at one another. I knew how this was going to end so i said "i'm going this way". The arguing escalated and as i turned my back, all hell broke loose as everyone opened fire on eachother! i turned around to see 2 of my buddies lying face first in the mud. As one of the guys took aim at me, he dropped. Now it was just me and the other survivor. I was hoping that either we would go back to surviving or at least go our separate ways. I did not want to kill him so i asked that if i could just leave. "i can't let you leave with a weapon. If i turn around you'll just backstab like the rest of these bastards!". This was it. I knew that i wasn't getting out of here alive. He told me "You can leave, but you're dropping everything in your backpack!". I was so fair north that i din't want to risk dying. I dropped my stuff. "Ok, can i leave now?" i asked. he replied "one more thing" and before he could finish the sentence, he popped me in the leg with his AK. "Good luck out there". He walked off into the distance while i was left for dead. Slowly bleeding out with no bandages or morphine to save me. I crawled for a while but realised i was screwed. I was nowhere near a town to gather supplied and my blood was dropping extremely low. I laid there, waiting to die, when all of a sudden a voice came from the distance "Hey! you need help?". A passing survivor, in the middle of nowhere. This was truly a lucky day! He bandaged me up, gave me a blood transfusion and even gave me some supplies. It turns out he had been following us for a while and witnessed the massacre. After i was fully patched up and ready to move on, we went our separate ways. Thank you stranger, for saving my life! :D

How do I play now that i'm fully geared

Get friends. Jump in the truck. Find a survivor and force him to do whatever you say. When you get bored. Break his leg and take his gun :)
  9. So i replied to a topic in the off-topic suggestion about PvP and i wanted to share my thoughts on DayZ's PvP system. Many players complain about getting killed while offering to help others out, but if a zombie apocalypse happened in real life, would you give a guy the chance to grab his weapon and kill you for your supplies? I certainly wouldn't... PvP on this game is brilliant. It adds a sense of fear just to bump into another survivor. Not knowing whether they will offer help, or just blow a hole in your chest for your stuff. Also, it gives you a chance to do stuff you wouldn't do in real life. You start to wonder whether who is really your friend and who is the enemy. You get paranoid while walking around, wondering if that bush in the distance is a guy in a ghillie suit watching you, only to have the bush next to it blow your head off... I agree that KoS is becoming increasingly popular but like i said, if this was real, this would be a life or death situation. Your life, or theirs. Would you rather have the guy kill you later? or kill the bastard and know that you'll be safe for a little longer?

    The beans game!

Ok, i'm super bored and i remember playing this game on a different game forum. THE GAME The beans game is a simple game. You just have to get the beans off of the current person that has them using whatever means possible. RULES You can only use items/methods that exist in the DayZ mod (you can't fly down from the sky on your unicorn and impale the person with a javelin... You can add imagination to the story (i.e: I set the player on fire with a match) as long as it's nothing completely stupid :) EDIT: once you have been killed, you can't steal the beans for another 10 minutes (it takes time to get your gear back and hunt the player down you know!) EXAMPLE Joe has the beans. I sneak up to him with my axe and chop his arm off. I steal the beans and let a horde of zombies finish him off. now you know the game, let's start!!! I HAVE THE BEANS!

    Why punish bandits?

Oh hey, a completely original post about something that nobody has ever complained about before! #sarcasm

Admin abuse by BEDYR on US 2804

All i can say is this: You have some serious balls to come onto a forum and complain if you were hacking. If you weren't hacking, i'm sorry for your loss bro.

    Reallly?

Ok, i might aswell join in this crazy bitchfest! 1) I disagree with the OP in every way whatsoever. As soon as a forum admin says something "unprofessional", you get in a massive hissy fit about it? If you can't take criticism, don't dish it out... Rocket could easily take away his admin privileges but... oh, wait! He's too busy working on the hotfixes that crybabies like you demand to happen overnight! 2) You seem to think that rocket owes you something for testing a mod? If anything YOU owe him something. Firstly for making this an open alpha (very rare these days) and also for giving you almost double your subscribers on youtube. 3) made up statistics make me laugh. Please show us some charts that show REAL statistics. I would like proof to back up these pathetic claims. 4) This section of the forum is for general discussion of the DayZ mod. Not for boasting about your education. I don't care what qualifications you have, especially when you act like you're above the community because you have a piece of paper that says you know how to run a business. Please tell me the name of your company that has made you millions of dollars? 5) As many other people have already said on this post, if you are unhappy with the mod/forum admins attitude, then delete the game, remove this website from your favourites list and move on with your life. The majority of the replies of this post has been people disagreeing with you. Does that not say something?
