I think the point is that for a team that's supposedly meant to be bringing out the standalone version of this game in the not too distant future, to have a non working, none functioning or badly degraded service here and now on their site, simply doesn't instil any confidence in them getting the game up and running successfully and in a timely manner. In fact at this time, it looks like they don't know how to fix it due to the lack of any information regarding it, which to me also looks unprofessional.

It takes 35 seconds to do a page refresh (F5) and 40 to do a reload (CTRL+F5) over here in London on my 20Mb cable connection. It's been like this for a good couple of weeks now. I can't believe that this problem is known to the powers that be and that it hasn't been rectified yet and more glaringly, that there's been no official word about the problem put up. It really doesn't give me much faith for the future to be honest. Five minutes later it timed out :

If any of you had bothered to actually read it you might have gleaned that it was in fact a message to the devs about the state of the game. But don't feel too bad, the lack of an attention span of over five seconds is probably the average on these forums.

Thunderpimp, like Dancing.Russian.Man has said, you certainly seem to have evidence there but it's not conclusive. I myself could make a new game profile and call myself thunderpimp. No one would be the wiser as to whether it was you, me or someone else, regardless of how much circumstantial evidence there may be. Another point of course is that even if it's the same person, what makes you think that having their forum account and their game profile banned would actually bother them at all? If he is a hacker then I'm sure he'll be back doing his thing within 30 minutes or so anyway. Getting them banned would probably just make them more likely to try and find you in an effort to mess your game time up.

Bottom right of the top pic : Core 2 Duo e6850 @ 2833MHz. That's underclocked as it should be running @3GHz (333x9) as standard, but maybe speedstep kicked in.

This might work... Changing GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1 in my ArmA2OA.cfg got rid of this problem for me a few versions a go.

Well yes, with no AA, AF or Vsync pretty much anyone should be able to "run" this game, but going the full "function over form" route is not I'd guess what most people would be happy with, as they might feel it's got to look semi believable too as setting things like this breaks the immersion somewhat.

Grown men who like or pretend to like a program about cartoon ponies who also don't have any qualms about admitting this, should be placed in a very dark corner, but I guess an off topic section would be a start here at least. Personally speaking, if I lived next to any of you I'd be a little concerned that you'd run amok with a gun or a hatchet at some point. Get help before it's too late. seriously.

Not usually no, but it's not unheard of...and you didn't mention this originally. So with that extra knowledge now other possibilities are that it's your PSU (Power Supply Unit) that's at fault, but there's no software to test that or that your motherboard isn't supplying the correct voltages or indeed has simply gone bad. I'd therefore take it to a different PC shop this time and tell them that it hard locks after 2 minutes of game play. If they swap out the power supply and stress test it for a day or two and it doesn't lock up then you can pay them for it and their work. But that's only one possible scenario.

Although you said that you had it checked out, this either sounds like a CPU overheat primarily to me or possibly bad memory (which can go bad over time but would often give a blue screen error not a full lock up)... "Real Temp" : http://www.techpower...ealTemp_370.zip This will show you CPU's temperatures. Click on the "Settings" button and tick the box marked "Log File", then minimize it when you play a game. If your system crashes you'll then be able to see the temps that it got up to. If you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty, you could download "Memtest86" and burn it to a CD: http://www.memtest.org/#downiso - then test each stick separately, ie one in your system at a time. You'll need to run each test for say a couple of hours on each stick (don't skimp on this). Remove the power lead first too ;) If you don't want to test things yourself, take your system to a different place and tell them the problem. If they're worth their salt they should say that it sounds like a processor or possibly a memory problem and go from there to rectify it for you.

Ok, this is somewhat of a technical solution for Gigabyte Motherboard users, but should work for other motherboards too. I came across it on a Microsoft development forum when I too was searching for a cure to this problem. From the replies I noted in that forum it had a 100% success rate (for those who know how to get in their BIOS and understood the potential implications of being in there and changing some of those settings). Just so some people better understand this : Randomly changing your system's BIOS settings may cause halitosis, warts and/or more system instability and data loss. Ok, most modern Gigabyte motherboards have a group of features called CPU enhanced Halt, C3/C6 State Support & CPU EIST Function which depending on the CPU loading, will lower the CPU Voltage and CORE frequency to decrease average power consumption and heat production. These features are set to AUTO by default. Amongst other things these can effect the power regulation to the graphics card. These settings should be in the BIOS under : MB intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T) - > Advanced Frequency Settings - > Advanced CPU CORE features. Disable all these three features, save the BIOS settings and reboot. Job done (fingers crossed). Note 1 : This will not circumvent any badly installed or corrupted Graphics driver installs. For this you should get a copy of DriverSweeper (it's free) to fully clean out any residual graphics settings in between de-installing your graphics drivers and installing any new ones. Note 2 : Having personally had this error many times on my Nvidia GTX 560ti on an Asus P8Z68-V motherboard I simply updated my BIOS to the latest version from my motherboard's support site, when it finally came along and this fixed the issue for me. I have not therefore personally tested this procedure. Note 3 : As a pointer, on my motherboard these settings are partially covered by "Enhanced Intel Speedstep", so setting this to off may also resolve this problem. Note 4 : Remember to put back the settings you changed in your BIOS to their original values if this doesn't work! Good luck.

Both give exactly the same result and both will work fine with Dayz, so go with Combined Operations as it's cheaper.

Hmm...I wouldn't pay anything for any game while in Alpha or Beta, but if things get ironed out and improved upon then maybe up to £40 (that's 40 pounds) I guess.
