As of now, the degrading feature isn't a huge "feature". However, they've laid the backbone and once more clothing items make it into the game, it'll mean a lot more. The general idea is that if you are wearing a military helmet, it will protect you from headshots better than a beanie. Be patient, when the system is working as it should, it will make swapping out clothes a much bigger deal when it comes to survival (and realism).

You can also backpack in a backpack in a backpack in a... you get the idea. I'm sure they'll fix it up in the near future.

Light of all kind not working (lamp light - daylight etc.)
resin_ replied to mrdirtydeedz's topic in Troubleshooting
There are daylight servers out there, but most of it comes down to keeping an eye on the server's time zone. DayZ has a 24 hour day-night cycle. Also, try community servers, a lot of them stick to day. -
1. There is 1 map, its on all servers. 2. Jump through some servers. Some are night, some are day. 3. Find a melee weapon, more effective. 4. Painkillers. 5. What you assume is correct. Max is still 40 for the time being, will increase as time goes on.

Sounds like an issue on your end (bandwidth) if it's happening across all servers. Edit: Seems your not the only one having this issue.

Hmm, tough one. Do you have a keyboard that was bundled with software?
-
Check your drivers, make sure their up to date. Then verify the game's cache by right-clicking it in steam and going to properties; the option is in there. Good luck!

Yes, my buddy has managed to play with HD4000 on his Asus laptop (while traveling), but expect some hiccups even on low.

I noticed the same thing on my first trip up there (mainly that death road that looks like an earthquake hit it lol). I would assume so, we are still in alpha, and they have a lot of roads placed up there, which I'm pretty sure has to be done separately than buildings when making Arma maps.

Forum Question: How do I move threads I've created?
resin_ replied to fig0451's topic in Troubleshooting
Typically (in IPB), this would have to be done by the moderation staff. -
The DayZ Epoch site has all the files and instructions you need, start there ;) http://dayzepoch.com/

I'd say this hotfix was more of a crowd pleaser than anything. Now you can choose whether or not you want the new items on your server. Worst this patch is going to do is confuse those who do not read the changelogs. I think I'll keep my server on 1.7.6 for the time being :)

While I agree we could have done without the new food/drink variations; the releases seem like they are picking up. I think a lot of people choose not to grasp the idea of a community-run mod. Just because they've added something you might not like, doesn't mean that they "wasted their time". There are multiple people, each with a different skill set, working on this now. They contribute what they can, and they do it for free.

Pending Update: Build 1.7.3 (community edition)
resin_ replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
This is a great move; the community's chance to "test" their great ideas, and maybe see it ported to the standalone. Awesome there's so much interest in contributing as well, wish I could find more people to help in Source development! :) -
It's great to see a post from Rocket, I haven't been here in a while. Thanks for the update, you've fixed the everything I could have asked for, and congratz to Smasht on the "moderator" position, he deserves it B)

Typically in these situations, I run at the person screaming "I'm an enemy I'm an enemy!" Leaves them pretty confused most of the time.

Sit back, relax, uninstall Arma, and sip a refreshing Hitler Did Nothing Wrong.

Furious at the Dayz Versions right now
resin_ replied to Ajvkorn's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
When patched to 1.7.2.5, connecting to servers running older revisions will cause long load times and potential respawns. -
Hunter is not one to insult. He is oblivious to maintaining servers as well, see his recent posts. Don't be afraid to ask questions here, lets keep this mod alive :D
-
Not trying to defend them, but you clearly have no idea how servers work. Each node has multiple servers sharing an IP, each with a different port. Changing your server's IP would also change the IP of the other servers sharing your node. Thus, why it's taking so long; they need to move you to a different node.
-
From what I've seen recently, no.
-
Smasht is right there, I would suggest trying new servers frequently to find a good community. Lower populated servers seems to have less trouble with script kiddies as well.

I'm dead.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say wait.
