While I do agree with you that it kind of ruins the "surprise", I'm going to quote myself from yesterday. I think it's mostly in place just to make people more aware of who they are approaching. As of right now it means nothing because it's bugged, but in the future it will be nice to see who is worth trying to help/befriend.

If all the files needed to play DayZ are up to date and assuming you purchased Arma II & OA through Steam, try: "Validating the integrity of your game cache". Open your library, right click OA, and go to properties. It's in there somewhere.

Bad Version, Server rejected connection. Wierd Case.

By reinstalls, does that mean Arma II and OA? If not, (assuming you purchased through Steam) open his games library and right click OA. Then select properties, and try "validating the integrity of the game cache". After that is done, launch OA once, and exit it. Now try to connect! -
This has happened to me before as well, they can script gear "on to you". At first I was pissed but when I noticed I had a HOLO on my M4 and an AS50 in my bag, I wasn't as mad for some reason... :P

This occurs from upgrading to 1.7.2.5, then joining a server running 1.7.2.4; it happened to me as well when I first patched up. -
That's a strange one! I'm assuming you dropped your gear from swimming but the teleport thing is... odd?

Make sure your joining a server on the same DayZ and Arma II beta patch as your client, that happens to me when I try to connect to 1.7.2.4 servers. (Try DayZ Commander if you haven't already)

While ingame, I don't believe there is an afk time; there is for the lobby though.

Direct chat has a range, I'm assuming its about 20 meters like the ingame voice chat. I've heard the voice chat is going to be bumped up to 40 meters though.

Your Arma beta version (95948) should not matter, since it is backwards compatible. (Assuming you're having connection issues) -
I'm pretty sure it's be cause of the desync (connection between other players & the server). If not, its because the engine doesn't have "proper" physics.

I'm a firm believer that this mod sets itself apart by not having features such as this, no offense obviously. I truly hope that Rocket & Bohemia keep the gameplay and atmosphere exactly how it is.

No Six Updater Love - The end?

It's because the patch isn't considered stable. I would however, recommend using DayZ Commander. It offers a couple more cool features than Six Launcher, and also lets you manage the DayZ and Arma II Beta patches manually. -
Assuming your running 1.7.2.5, it is because you are joining servers running an older version of DayZ.

It's a bummer a small percentage of the population ruin the mod for such a large amount of people. I just hope you keep a calm head unlike so many others on this forum, and continue to enjoy the mod as much as I do! People do tend to forget we are testers at times ;P -
