One of the things that made dayz popular was the lack of balance. It should stay that way so we don't have to deal with stupid buffs and nerfs along with whinning. It's realistic so it's perfectly fine, if you do not think so you are in the minority,

There. Are already serves with a different time zone so they are day. Play on them.

The things I like are: 1. Look outside your window, if it's dark or will be dark soon, it's dark in game. (Same for light) 2. Weapons are really hard to find. It's not a stupid death match anymore! 3. No stupid protected trading zones or other handicap features. 4. No squad up, you have to meet up or find your friends. 5. Loot is scarce like a real apocalypse makes surviving a much larger part of the game and encourages more teamwork and less stupid death match gameplay. I fear the moment we get private servers, we will be back to the really stupid unlimited vehicles with easy weapons for death matches along with 24/7 day servers. I really like the current 24 hour day cycle. Let's you feel like your really there! Those easy mode private servers ruined the mod. I hope helicopter come backs on but be extremely rare so the people who have it treat it well and you really shit yourself when one comes in guns a blazing! The current spawn system for loot and zombies is awesome. Walking through areas finding what people missed or looking were others don't. Killing all the zombies in a town is also fun.

Why does everyone assume to change the day and night time rather than the server location? There are already servers doing this.

I find m4's and ammo in every barracks basically. People don't check every hiding spot or even what's above them. There's too much loot when you realize this. But also some loot is glitched and spawns below buildings.The loot system works well for those who actually thoroughly search.

This^ The problem is left to it's own devices, the community member who host servers and have power will generally dumbed down the game and go for the non hardcore PvP ideology leaving few actual hardcore survival servers. We are stuck with mods of the mod now that feature safe trading zones and other features that make the game easier and cater to PvP players. They have the mod for that. The standalone is supposed to be the ideology of the original mod not to convoluted mess it is now. If you like those mods, then go play them on the mod, the standalone while being open to modding needs to prevent certain types like dumbing down and stuff catering to the COD PvP demographic.

The night and day cycle is perfect. Just give us servers that have different time zones in our areas please. No need for night and day to be sped up. -
So VOIP is supposed to be a way to communicate between players when they are close. But people like to mute players so they aren't distracted on their PvP fun time. This can really hurt gameplay interactions. What could be done about this? 1. Servers with that do not allow muting.

Even Arma wasn't spared. They have people screaming against realism now. The very vocal people who want a game to appeal to as many as possible and be as easy as possible and not have any learning or practice involved.

Because then there are no hardcore servers left. Play on a sever with a time set to where it would be day when you play.

Here's how the day night system works. Look outside your house. If it is dark or will be soon, then it's likely dark in game. If it's light outside or will be soon, then it's likely light in game. It's not that hard of a concept, stop crying because your easy mode servers are not in standalone. Night and day are on a 24 hour cycle, live with it and play around that knowledge and use it to your advantage.

They are just hidden. Thoroughly search and you will see a lot of hidden loot that you may not have seen before.

Arma 3 "sharring" Dayz's Chernarus Plus terrain?

What I mean by "sharing" is for Arma 3 to be able to acess the Chernarus Plus terrain if the player has both games purchased. Chernarus Plus would be first and foremost Dayz's map. Players in Arma 3 would be able to enjoy the updated Chernarus map only if they purchase Dayz Standalone. What do you guys and gals think? -

It would allow Chernarus Plus to be played on by both Dayz players and by players looking for a realistic Milsim like gameplay. Many Arma 3 player miss Chernarus and Dayz has a visually updated version.I went about it this way because players would have to own Dayz to be able to use the Chernarus Plus map. -
Just a curious thought that could go both ways for boths games. But for example people have requested a medical system like Dayz's medical system for years for Arma. Now when you think about it, Arma 3 may be lacking an advanced medical system because of dayz and the potential to mod dayz into Arma 3 causes this. Other things too like proper body armor and things like handcuffs. This issue could go both ways and prevent both games from being the best they can be.

You should see some of the post release hints for Arma 3. Like a rain system that scared the programmers and the A3 developers do want to give Arma 3 a much better medical system. But why wouldn't Dayz want the better water that Arma 3 has? Also have you guys seen what exactly the clouds are from? This post seems like someone who thinks of dayz as a fps deathmatch game. It is not, it's a realistic survival sim. -
I see people whining about how realism needs to take a back seat for "balance". Dayz was very successful without balance and that's why I liked it and many others did too. Before guns became so plentiful I always loved those moments when you heard an anti material rifle and shit yourself. The dayz mod was intended to be a highly realistic zombie survival sim and I am all for increased realism but not for "balancing weapons" like a boring triple a shooter does. I would really not like this to become a "insert this weapons needs nerf" game like so many others. Face it, when you thought of we're to survive a zombie apocalypse, you thought Russia or near Russia due to the amount of guns and Militery items you could acquire. Why take this away and nerf weapons until we have a MLG fps game? Just my two cents and from what I can tell rocket thinks similarly to this.

You forget that due to the high militerized nature of the area, formor Militery person could easily common place, and for the weight issue: doesn't the Militery Carry all the extra ammo and weapons in vehicles around rather than carrying them? And for the damage system, dayz is its own game now and can be made with a better damage system. -
