To take it or not, that is the question.

You should have kept the NVGs, everything else is easy to get. -
Wow. I can't believe this shit.

Even when disagree with someone it doesn't help anyone to be rude. Politely say "No thanks, not the way I play the game" and hightail it to the woods. You had an opportunity to encourage his behavior, ignore his behavior or put another chip on the "be a jerk" side of the scales. In his mind he tried to do something nice. Misguided? Yes, but being hostile to him only discourages this type of behavior; it does not encourage him to play the game as intended. Would you rather he teleported you into the sky, broke your legs or started dropping mortars on you? -
Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

The good news is you can run back to where you were before logging out and your body should still be there. The bad news is that this is normally caused when you log between servers with different versions, so no real fix for it. -
Trading for Satchel Charges

So that's where my gear has been going on server reset. No joke, like an idiot I keep tossing items into a tent on one server, and it keeps going poof every reset. Then again almost all of my loot after making it North comes from poorly placed map edge duper tents so big whoop. -
1. Don't go to NWAF until you have a silenced weapon 2. To get a silenced weapon either run around to the deer stand locations or run the edge of the map looting from all the camps there. Of course if you run around looting camps then you won't need to go to NWAF for loot. In fact I've spent the last three days siphoning loot off of a very well stocked camp, almost faster than some other rat is stealing from me.

About the thunderdome...
Dante Inferno replied to -SA-Vanguard's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You think I don't know the law? Wasn't it me who wrote it? And I say that this man has broken the law. Right or wrong, we had a deal. And the law says: bust a deal and face the wheel! Not a fan of hackers, but in my opinion the individual or group who came up with Thunderdome should be hired on to script custom events for DayZ. -
I have started to like playing while it is night time

Lower server population is always a good sign. Welcome to the dark side. -
Just yesterday I was sad that I had spawned in Elektro, it usually means trouble. Scouting through the apartment house with a trusty axe I came across a terribly sad scene. Two fresh corpses; armed and decent starting kit on both of them. Looking into the room where must have started their squabble I see a tent, such a sad thing to die over. Another for my growing tent city, whoop-it-di-do. Must have been terrible for them, both spawned and grouped up, stocking up on common items then... Ohh shiny.

Discuss: Your Spawning Strategy
Dante Inferno replied to Silodiloz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Attitude depends on sever population and spawn point. Respawn: Scavenge on my way to my restocking camp. Anything I can do to reduce the impact of stripping gear out of the tent/possibly duping items is fair game. Elek/Cherno - run in and grab what I can, everywhere else find industrial/farm for an axe then start working my way inland. Now is the perfect time to hit a Supermarket or Airfield; very little to lose. Loot priority: 1. Axe and Hunting Knife - use these to restock meat supply at camp 2. Common primary weapon 3. New Tent (to house the rare items I keep away from my fairly visible restocking camp), more on this below 4. Defensive items; wire, traps, etc 5. Canteens; can never have too many 6. Backpack 7. Ammo, any and all types Once I get to my restocking area I clean out the pile of current inventory, cook up meat I've collected along the way, setup any new defensive items then start the run to my much better hidden rare item tent. Check for anything I can afford to use and if I found a new tent move the items over then start to my re-stocking circuit. Restocking versus Rare Tents: The trick after you've built a restocking area is not keeping all your eggs in one basket. Sure they may clean it out or flatten your tents, but anything that you can't replace in a couple circuits should be kept offsite, better hidden and more than just out of the way. Throw down defensive items and make your primary tent cluster seem well defended. Nothing is going to keep it secure since they can just log over to another server to avoid the traps and get into your secure zone. Circuit Running: Figure out the direction most other players will use to hit the maximum amount of spawn areas and make sure you skip or alternate some, don't be the most efficient. Your circuit is going to overlap in areas; remember that if you're cleaning out in front of them they'll be coming up behind you at a faster rate; and they'll be peeved they're hitting empty on their spawn spots. Never take the ammo but not the gun at a fixed spawn location, forget this rule for Helicopters; get in get out. This is a dead giveaway to someone following behind you that there is someone cleaning out ahead of them. This rule is double for food cans at supermarkets; always leave a couple to reduce suspicion. Follow your rules, mine are: See an area where the zombies are already spawned and distributed? Stay away. Know your route in and out before taking a step Don’t ever kill a player anywhere near your camp; they’ll come back If your camp was raided; burn it to the ground and move on; rats come back If you feel like you’ve been in an area for a long time you’ve been there too long Never leave a gun but no ammo, pick it up and ditch it in the woods Don’t over pack, you need inventory room to move things around Don’t carry anything you don’t want to lose to an area where there are other players The map is smaller than it looks Always follow your rules, when you don’t you’ll end up back on the beach -
First couple lives I ran into Cherno or Elek to grab basic gear and get out. First time; dead by a sniper, Second time chewed up by walkers, third time thought I was Superman and tried to jump a couple body lengths off a roof... did not end well. Next plan was to scrounge barns and larger buildings in the middle third of the map, still feels like a good idea. If I can get to a barn most of the time I can get a weapon... usually a double barrel shotgun, but they keep me from feeling too alone... too vulnerable. Axes stay on my belt, if I have to kill a walker on the way into town I've already lost my chance at gear. I can predict which way the one in front of me is going, but the two who appear behind me may see me, ruin my day. Barns and Warehouses are my friend; in one door out the other, no horde pushing me into a corner. Yesterday, my week anniversary of playing I was feeling confident, I had made a loop of Black Mountain and I was hunkered down in the Farm in Rogovo. The Walkers were quiet, shambling around the sides when I decided to zip around to the storage shed. In the near side and around the back. Against my instincts I snuck into the single door garage, close the door and rooted around the piles of loot for more magazines, more food. After psyching myself up I open the doors, Crawler right ahead of me across the parking lot. He spots me and howls. I unload into him at maybe 50 yards with my Winchester. He drops and I get ready to bolt back to the farm when instantly in front of me is a pack of ten walkers. They’re blocking each-other so I can line up my shots, but the horde keeps growing, first 15 shots empty, I’m bleeding from a lucky few who got far enough into the door to swipe at me. Next 15 shots; empty. I open my bag to pull out the AK-74 Kobra to rain fire from heaven on the pack of Zeds that is completely obscuring the front side of the building, but one too many swipes and I’m knocked out. I woke up on the coast and started dashing back to Rogovo, managed to get my body back. The Winchester I left, this time I’m keeping my Kobra in my hands. I ask myself, is it ever worth going into a one door room again? No, but then that church is just down the hill.
