If the backpack is floating you need to pick up everything else under it first. Also check the gear screen to see if the backpack is listed at the bottom and equip it that way. Hope that helps.

Not trying to sound like a dick or anything but have you tried *not* standing in the way of doors? Its not like they change the direction they open or anything. I still remember when deer stands and ladders were deathtraps if you didn't have a pistol equipped... good times.

Welcome to Dayz (I mean that in the best way, stick around - the only way to go from here is up!) Unfortunately, as there is currently no downside at all to shooting everyone you see, most players are either products of John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory (http://art.penny-arc...8_8pSZr-L-2.jpg) crossed with "Kid-with-a-magnifying-glass-and-an-anthill-on-a-sunny-day syndrome" or are victims of such people that have been forced to change their playstyle dramatically in order to get anywhere in this mod. Your best bet is play with friends you know from RL and get far away from the coast/cities pronto. Good luck!

Made an account to back this up. I was the third party, lurking by the barracks. After you two got ventilated and assploded by my cohort and the server restarted, I stole you're magically repaired truck and took it into the woods. You took some potshots at me through the windscreen and failed miserably to kill me, you then seemed to decide that this was all just a bit too much for you and closed the server for the night. I got up on a different server and walked that shit off. Bring it.
