    Well that's nice...

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Except with zombies that are blind as bats and made of glass, that are easy to escape with any bushes or corners to run around, and with a hatchet, basically are barely a threat anymore, why team up anymore? Becomes easier to just kill each other before the other turns on you. Just my personal opinion. Love the game as is, but you want people to team up more and not just kill on sight? Give people a real reason to stick together. Make zombies a real threat in this game, not just a side hazard for new players. It is called DayZ for a reason. Z. Zombie. Except zombies here are a side show, footnote in the book that is DayZ. Which in my opinion is dumb. Again love the game, just love for an improvement on the zombie mechanic. Make people wanna team up more.
  2. I found a hatchet, some basic supplies. In the end just a hatchet as a weapon. I moved to Komarovo and fought some zombies. As luck has it with zombies in this game, random hit, leg breaks. But, I decide to go on a personal quest, a mission. I only had some food and a matchbox, so really really basic just spawned gear basically. I decided to crawl all teh way to Cherno and find morphine in a hospital to save myself. Heh, I did it earlier today finally. I crawled all the way from Komarovo to Cherno. Fighting zombies, got to the hospital, and saved myself. Took like an hour or two to crawl all that way. Did I need to do that? Nope dying would have been faster and easier probably. Am I glad I did this? Heck ya. And for someone like me, with less then 24 hours of playing this game, was epic.
  3. The thing for me with the Enfield, is I let the zombies get close before shooting. It is so slow firing, you do not have time shooting a bunch and missing. Just shoot them when they get close, barely have to aim. But yeah... It is loud. But I think it is dual purpose. You may not be hunting players, but if a bandit attacks you, you now have a fairly nice rifle to fight them back. Killed my first bandit before they killed me with an Enfield. Ambushed me and friends and everything, killed everyone but me. I was practically dead cause I reacted very poorly to the ambush, but even though they had some kind of semi or fully automatic assault rifle, I killed them with that slow fire rate before I was killed by some other bandits after a bit. So yeah, do not be afraid of it if you see it. I say take it if it is the only thing you can get, if you can get more newb friendly guns, go for it.
  4. Speaking of military objects... The graphical glitches I was getting was close to Balota or whatever the place is called Airstrip, bunch of jeeps, barbwire, etc there. And crazy graphical glitches all over the place.
  5. I am having it too. Really frustrating, cannot see if there are zombies or players about when a giant freaking polygon appears in my face and acts like a wall. And it just started after the last update today.

    Worth it?

They were terrible. He had a group with him, but solo attacked us. If we had more guns he would have died faster, but only one rifle to fight back with. Not sure why, I am sure there had to be at least three or four guys there, but I really never saw more then one. I just know more were there with how many bullets hit me.
  7. Why do they run so freaking fast? No no, hear me out please. I will assume the most common answer here is they are too easy to kill and such if they move slow, so must move at the very least as fast as you. Anyone ever watch any zombie movie pre- 28 Days Later? Or watch Walking Dead? So.... Nah, we know shambler zombies are still good. They attack in packs and hordes, and while you run and run, eventually tiring out, they are still moving as a single unit of destruction and death. Just imagine running into Cherno, shoot zombie you saw, and hear the drone, and out of every street corner twenty zombies pop up shambling to you. You move around, trying to dodge them, opening fire on them, all the while they slowly close in on you. I dunno, sounds more interesting then one zombie chasing you for twenty minutes, right on your tail, and as soon as you drop in a bush you magically become invisible to the zombie. Please do not get me wrong. I am having a lot of fun with DayZ right now. Zombie broke my leg in Komarovo. I crawled all the way to Cherno, and actually saved myself, believe it or not. Got a ton of morphine, blood bags, etc, found canteens, and made it out. Took forever, but like a personal achievement I crawled and did all of that. Lucky hatchet kept the zombies back. But honestly... I think this game could do with some refining of the actual zombie mechanic. I know the zombies were not meant as the focus of this game, but they should be. Otherwise all you have is zombies made of glass, then run as fast as you, can get a lucky hit and break a leg for no obvious reason, and then you die like that, unless you can save yourself or get help. All it is is a giant fragfest with a thirst and hunger meter, and a couple of glass zombies. I like the idea of zombies being an unstoppable force, that players are almost forced to work together, or group up in gangs and such, fighting each other for resources, the resources here being spawn areas for items. This is not really a complaint... Just... Curious why they went with fast zombies like that, when slow zombies work just as well with the proper mechanic changes, swarm/mob behavior, things would be dangerous. And a second note. Only headshots killing zombies. Zombies would become ten times more dangerous and lethal right there. I dunno, maybe it is just me. I mean I still am having fun with the game so not like "DERP CHANGE OR I QUIT" just would be nice for zombies to get a little more spotlight in this game. I have been waiting for a game like this for a loooooong time, and was happy to see someone FINALLY picked up on this survival concept, with zombies no less. But the zombies are barely a focus here, be nice if they were not so frustrating, but more lethal and dangerous so even people with end-game gear, so to speak, would have to still be weary of zombies. Otherwise this is just gonna turn into like, Black Ops, but NPC zombies to kill newbies and break your legs randomly, but provide no problems to any players with any good skills or good gear. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. You make zombies more lethal, but not just plain more frustrating, players end up teaming up, or going solo and just leaving each other alone. We the survivors need a common enemy, so we can then team up more, not just shoot on sight cause everyone is in a self destructing cycle of paranoia. I dunno, just my two cents. Will still be playing the game so I am not raging, just giving some thoughts on stuff I think could really improve the game experience. I did not put this in suggestions cause not really suggesting, as much as curious why the things are like this right now. Why DayZ is talked about as a zombie survival simulator, when really it is just a human survival simulator, with some zombies on the side. Okay I guess I am suggesting a little lol, I will move it if I need to, or a mod can or whatevs.

    legs breaking randomly?

Physics engine is partly to blame as well. I crawled down a deer stand, then went prone cause of a zombie nearby. The engine no clipped me INTO a leg of the deer stand, and I instantly got a broken arm. A friend of mine saw a tent, he was new, and thought you had to crawl inside of it to get stuff from it. Well he crawled up to it, no clipped into the tent, and instantly died. Part of the problem I have seen is randomly glitching and no clipping into stuff, then the engine picking up you being crushed and crap. So make sure you stay away from walls before crouching or going prone, sometimes you no clip into it and take mysterious damage and broken bones.

    Worth it?

They are smiling when a newb with a newb weapon killed their already good "quality" geared up bud? Suuuure if you say so lol. Same reason I can smile about it, I killed the guy that shot me before he killed me, and he was effectively waaaaay ahead of me in gear, guns, etc. And I still spanked him, as it were lol.

    Worth it?

Me and a few friends were moving across the North of Cherno. I have only played like.... less then six hours of this game at least, same with some friends of mine. We finally met our first bandits. We were in the city, but so far north the forest was not too far away. We were fighting some zombies, one of us had a hatchet, and I had a Lee Enfield I found in a barn. Well, needless to say, we finally met some bandits around there. We heard gunshots but could not figure out from where, but eventually we were basically gunned down by one person with some kind of assault rifle. Really high rate of fire. Still getting used to the game, at least two of us are gunned down or bleed to death in a few seconds. Me and a friend are on the ground prone. I dunno about him, but my arm and legs were broken, so I could not get up and run or anything, was bleeding out, no bandages, and the person ran back a distance, but every so often we could hear gunfire from their position. I took a few shots before I was basically drilled into the ground, but the Enfield's rate of fire is so small, plus the chaos of someone just jumping in front of you and blasting you makes it hard to hit them. Everyone is dead except me now. I know I am gonna die, so I am on last stand mode, I am gonna do as much damage as I can. I crawl over this hill top and move towards this building, I see the person standing there, again opening fire on me. A few bullets hit me, they had to, I iron sighted up, took one shot. Two shots. I think it was three shots, then bam they fall to the ground. I crawl up, seeing if I can get their weapon, and they are loaded with food and supplies, not sure why they just sat there shooting at me like that. Well they had like three or four buddies that popped the corner and killed me, but I was like dead anyways, almost instantly going to -7000+ blood. Overkill to the extreme. So, here I am, smiling basically. They wasted how much rare ammunition, and even lost a guy, to some newb with a rifle he can barely use. Your prize bandits? One Lee Enfield, practically the most common assault rifle in the game, some mags, and the most basic of just spawned in gear. Even though I know that person got all their stuff back, cause their buddies were there, was still a glorious moment. Even if I died, really did not lose anything, was only a two hour game session, and most of it was finding each other, us friends, not even pure gearing up. Is nice to say the first bandit I met, I killed before they killed me. Makes me also respect the Enfield, I thought it was some dinky rifle, but it is not half bad lol. Ah, this is what makes DayZ glorious. Even dying, even though annoying, still had fun. Except when I killed a friend earlier with that rifle by accident..... Hey, I told you, some newb with a rifle he can barely use. Does it help he was being chased by a zombie, and as I swung to shoot the zombie, I accidentally hit his leg? Eh whatevs. :P
