  1. Please sticky this thread, for the sake of us PC users. The more kids are using their Xbox controllers the easier it will be to murder them.

    ADS twitching.. STAPPAT

What twitching? After you sprint for 15 minutes and are out of breath? That's your weapon shaking, it's a feature and as such there is no intended "fix".
  3. As long as you are using the same steam account, you should have the same character. You only get one CD-key. Not that it matters anyway, it's likely that you'll get killed and lose your character before you get your new computer.

RIP DayZ - Yogcast started a LP

I can't believe they're playing on a private server. Truly pathetic.

    Alternative Creepy Music for DayZ

That first one sounds a bit like an air-raid siren, especially if you are running around Chernogorsk with it playing.

RIP DayZ - Yogcast started a LP

Two months ago DayZ was on /k/ being called "operator as fuck". Now it's flooded with minetards. FFS

    Pending Update 1.7.1 Details

Fuel leaks are part of the game. You will lose fuel if your tank is too damaged.
  8. What's funniest is that the reset OP has wished for will eventually happen. Sooner or later the central database will have some sort of error/corrupted data and everyone will get reset.
  9. Well that's the point, Somali coders work for pennies ;) Joking aside BIS is a business selling Arma not only to gamers but the US and Oz Army (Unless that contract went tits up). I obviously don't know the details of the business but Arm 2 is OFP 3, an engine that has been around well over 10 years and still has not had addressed simple things like getting stuck in doorways or narrow corridors. Something like Dayz which has had a huge following (in it's alpha stage!) is an opportunity, a big opportunity to make some big money. Everyone loves zombie games and this is king (it still needs work to make it a blockbuster but...) Christ even girls are buying arma just to play this lol. Whichever way BIS decide to go, I hope they make a shit ton of money so they can start producing more quality games for the PC. Sorry for being so abrasive earlier. You seemed to me like another "DIS SUX BIS SHUD USE FROSTBITE ENGINE INSTEAD" kid. The things you talk about aren't actually deep flaws within the engine and are rather easily fixable. For example, getting stuck in doorways was patched years ago with the ShackTac Movement add-on. RV is actually an excellent, highly modular engine - the perception of clunkyness comes from ArmA 2's subpar animation system (which is being fixed in A3) as well as the poor framerates (which couldn't be avoided, no matter what engine is used). It also supports an extremely comprehensive scripting engine which is the very thing that made DayZ possible. BIS is great at giving modders new tools and capabilities (just read the changelogs for the most recent beta patch builds) but it's mainly the little things that they disregard. There's nothing wrong with the engine itself.
  10. Since when does the M40 have camo on it?
  11. OP, that may have been the stupidest thing I have ever read. Everyone in this thread is now a few IQ points dumber because of your post. They will never again be able to operate on the same level of psychological functioning as they enjoyed before entering this thread. May God have mercy on your soul.
  12. If DayZ were to be released as a commercial product, I expect it would be a DLC for either ArmA 2 or 3. Since all DayZ players already have ArmA 2, it would be a colossal dick move for BIS to sell it as a full game since they'd be selling you content you already have. It's not something they would do; they're not as greedy as EA or Activision.
  13. Quick note: A thread like this already exists, but my suggestion is more extensive and better detailed. Anyone who's played the ACE mod for ArmA will know what I'm talking about. There are several things that go into this and this feature would, in my opinon, greatly enhance both immersion and playability of DayZ. 1. Weight-based inventory and stamina system In ACE, if you sprint with 50kg of gear, you will run out of breath and possibly pass out. This feature would force players to consider how they are going to move from place to place instead of just sprinting everywhere. ArmA already simulates stamina in that being out of breath negatively affects your aim. This would expand upon that. Now, besides losing your accuracy (which is restored in under a minute anyway), you might face the risk of passing out due to exhaustion. So, we could have all items take up just one inventory spot and assign each a "mass" value in its config. This way there is nothing to prevent you from carrying a lot of things, as long as they aren't too heavy. 2. Volume-based backpack space In ACE, backpack space is not expressed by the number of empty slots you have, but by how much volume (in cc) your backpack can fit. You can store pretty much anything in backpacks (even more than one rifle) as long as it fits in terms of volume. Items like bandages require very small amounts of space to carry and yet under the current system they take up as much backpack space as things that are much larger in volume (and mass) like canned food and water canteens. Backpacks wouldn't be weight-restricted but the total weight of everything you have would still count against your stamina. Right now you can run several miles without dropping dead while carrying a machine gun, its ammunition (this alone should be too heavy - there's a reason that the military uses assistant machinegunners), flares, canned food, water, a sidearm, first aid supplies, binoculars and NVGs. That's pretty ridiculous. A system like this would force players to think ahead a little more. "Is it a good idea to pack this stuff? Will it slow me down? This is a good weapon but this other one is lighter, maybe it's better suited for me?" I remember playing an ACE scenario where I was running away from the enemy, taking fire, while contemplating whether I should throw away my rifle or my satchel charges to lighten my load. Something like this would, in my opinion, add a new degree of depth and difficulty into the mod.

    ACE-like inventory system

All the code would most likely have to be rewritten to work with DayZ so I think it'll just be easier for rocket to code his own system.
  15. That many kills and you didn't even call in predator missiles? F'ing scrub

    ACE-like inventory system

One possible penalty, instead of passing out, might be to make you noisier if you are carrying a lot of heavy equipment. Ain't many ninjas around with 50kg rucksacks.

The ability to mark spots on your map

To keep other people from seeing the markers you make, press [ > ] until it says "Group Channel" in the bottom left corner. This will make the markers visible only to your group, and since there is nobody else in your group, the markers will only be visible to you.

    Is rocket satisfied with us?

One downside I could see to having this as a commercial product would be the fact that it would give a lot of people a sense of entitlement such as "I PAID MONEY FOR THIS, YOU BETTER MAKE IT THE WAY I WANT". But it's all pretty much up to rocket.

    Removing or Moving 'Debug Forest"

You can certainly fly there but I'm not sure it's worth the fuel or the time. And no, there is no aircraft carrier out there. The carrier is on the small map, Utes.
