The average life expectancy dropped rapidly yesterday from around 3 hours to only 30 minuets, is this due to the increase in Zombies or the fact that everyone was placed back into the coast causing more PvP kills? Or maybe its the huge influx of new players? Who knows! -

Thanks for the great responses to my OP, the debates I have been reading are great and very interesting. It's clear to see a wide variety of responses to in game situations. I would like to note that people will play this game in different ways (obviously), some will play it more seriously than others. That was part of the basis of my original post, how different people respond to different situations in this simulator and why they do so. I look forward to reading more of your comments and debates! Yes same thing here, it's always said that for me. I think the developer intends to eventually implement it so you have a chance of finding who they were and what caused them to die.

Never heard of a motorcycles spawning, however if they do they may well be bugged in the latest patch. Try checking the latest patch notes, good luck!

Seen any scripted events?

The developer has mentioned in an interview that he has added (A very small number) of secrets to the game. Find the interview here, http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/05/16/day-z-interview-how-zombies-arma-2-created-gamings-best-story-machine/ So you may well have found a secret. Well done! -
Bored? Unable to play? Watch this!

Better hope the Bandits don't get hold of which server your on! Have fun :) -
I think by design players will spawn near the south and have to work there way towards the North. It used to be only on the coast however now you can spawn a little further in land if my reading is correct!

So about the crashed helicopters

Hello! I'll quickly introduce myself as Bill, a politics and IR student currently at university and I joined today to pass on my thoughts on what makes DayZ a very important experiment in my humble opinion. In DayZ, life is "nasty, poor, brutish and short", a world of no rules, and no leaders. It's "everyone against everyone for survival" that is the human nature. These fundamental laws of human nature without laws and governance that I have stated are the words of the important philosopher Thomas Hobbes who wrote at the time of the English Civil war. Now I wont bore you on what made him so important, however what he defines as basic human nature without governance or laws is evident in DayZ. DayZ is (at least for me) becoming an interesting social experiment which brings out some very interesting emotions and behaviour in those individuals who are playing it. I'm aiming down the sights of my rifle at a survivor, and although I know it's only a game I pause as a decide on my next action, do I kill him, will he kill me if I wait any longer? How long has he been playing? Do I attempt to trust him? Just another mouth to feed? Or I'll just end his game, because I can. It stirs something deep in the mind, something very basic yet very unique from a game, I feel it will keep me coming back to DayZ for a very long time. DayZ's brilliance is in its simplicity, it reduces us to our basic human nature to survive and how each individual deals with that in this excellent simulation is fascinating.
