    Humanity Farming= Possibility?

Yes there is an easy way to farm Humanity. Go to a nice little town with a few of your friends, get them to aggro the Zeds, and, well yeah, just get your mates to get hit till they're low on blood and possibly broken bones / KO. And there we go, kill the Zeds, patch up your mates, and your Humanity will be on the rise. You'll need a lot of blood bags and epi-pens to do this obviously. Am I still one of the few people that sees how broken this system with humanity and the skins is? Seriously just take them back out.

    Gaining good equipment.

I've seen at least two Coyote Backpacks in the deerstands, so they do spawn there, but it is a low spawn chance, and only two loot spots on the deerstand. This is not the place I would search for them myself.
  3. My first death to a player I think was a fresh spawn at the hangars in Balotta. I'm there, hatchet out looking through a nice pile of tin cans, and I hear running behind me. Turn around and this guy with a Makarov comes pretty much to my feet before noticing me. He just says "Oh shit, friendly, I'm friendly" So I agree that we're both friendly, then the next thing I know he's shooting me in the face, Nice guy, wish I'd caught his name. My first kill was pretty crazy, scouting out one of the castles, I start to loot a pile on the floor. Still looking for a primary gun I'm picking up most ammo I find (fairly new at the time too, so I didn't know the best types to pick). While looting I open up my bag and start to put in the ammo, then I notice that my bag items are disappearing quite quickly, so I exit inventory, turn around and there is a guy right there stealing from my bag! Well I was quite fond of my possessions, so I unload a mag from my 1911 into his head. Felt a little bit bad, but reasoned with myself that a friendly player would have initiated contact rather than searching my bag probably for a gun of some kind to steal.

    Gaining good equipment.

I don't get this guide, the first thing anyone wants to do when first starting up a life is gear up with at least reasonable gear. Going into the Big Cities is the best way to do that. Yes it is dangerous, but what else do you expect? Before moving off the coast you at least want to find yourself a bigger bag, a gun, a map/compass, The Fabled Trio and a water bottle. Without these you're not going to get very far inland, and getting a bike? Most people are not going to see a bike at the spawn, because someone else will have made off with it already, so that seems like a strange thing to suggest as well. But yes the places you've mentioned are the best places to go for high end loot (don't forget Helicopter Crash sites) but I would learn how the game plays out a bit before going anywhere near the NW Airfield. And my own personal tip is to definitely hit up a Big City to begin with, just try on a low pop server and make a run for it, you can find almost everything to survive on one run through either Cherno or Elektro. Also it is probably less of a pain to die quickly in town, than it is to get all the way to the Airfield just to get shot by some Sniper waiting for people.

Running Speed - Heroes faster then bandits

Lol, apparently we're in the minority. I made a poll about this a while ago and it does seem people want the skins in. I really don't know why, it takes so much from the game. It's even more like a death match to me with them in because you know on sight who is likely to shoot you. That's the theory anyway a lot of the time doesn't work because as you said, killing someone that was shooting at you doesn't count as self defence, it counts as a murder. Does that mean a hero or bandit can't wear the Ghillie suits? Or that if they're wearing a Ghillie the effects of whether they are a hero or bandit will no longer apply? Still seems a broken system to me. Even if they can wear the Ghillies but with the effect of the other skins, you don't know whether they are a hero or bandit underneath it.

If a suspected hacker is holding you hostage...

^ Agreed, last thing we need is these people enjoying themselves while they ruin the game for everyone else. Ruin their good time, and hopefully they will find another game with a bridge on that they can live under.

Brand new player, some questions :D

To bandage someone you need to stand next to them and use your scroll wheel, and an option should come up, so click on it. Try to not pay too much attention to Zeds at first, since the new patch they don't seem to run faster than you any more. This makes it easier to escape from them by losing your line of sight, then crouching and moving away from your last known position. (Even if they've lost sight they will keep going towards the last place they saw you). Buildings with 2 ways in and out are your best bet to start off with, as not finding any weapon can be troubling if you can only escape the way zombies are. One more good tip is to try and fire as little as possible in the big cities. You will alert other people to your presence, and that could be a bad thing if they're a bandit.

    Dealing with death

I sometimes get a bit disappointed when I die, It's always a shame to get so far just to die usually in some stupid way. (Me being stupid I mean, all my deaths bar hacks and glitches have been my own fault). But every life I learn something new about what to do in the same situation next time, to make me live that little bit longer. The disappointment never lasts longer than it takes for me to respawn, because of coming from Bethesda games, I'm a massive looter. Love to search places just to see what I can find, so every new life gives me another opportunity to find those items I've yet to see, or ones I have that are essential to survival. (Pain in the arse matches are far too rare IMO). I do still look for loot on my current life, but as I have everything I want on me, I never pick anything up, except for the occasional Mag or Food/Drink. Last respawn I had gave me a coyote Backpack in the Firehouse in Cherno (third building I walked in, and second time actually getting the bag). It's all fun, enjoy the long lives while you can, but eventually your character will be killed, either by hacks, glitches, or a player who had the drop / was better at the game than you.

    There is still hope.

I was thinking that when I watched it earlier (Frankie is a beast PC player) but I'm guessing its just that, he tried getting out the car when it was moving too fast and it killed him. He obviously didn't want to put the gun back, and even said to Frankie that he should kill him if he wants his gear back. What a turd of a person.

    There is still hope.

You said it yourself, Shooting on sight is the best way to survive, it always will be, and as I said, morals mean nothing anyway. Morality would be short lived during an apocalypse, because those with them get killed by those without. Who survives longest? The ones willing to do more than the other guys. So murderers and bandits will always be more common in this type of situation. You can have morals and survive, but you better be sure you don't trust anyone else, because chances are they will kill you, either for fear of their own life, or to grab a bit more loot and survive longer that way. Do you honestly think morals mean much? Do you think everyone in Nazi Germany believed the same as Hitler? No of course not, that didn't stop them from killing other people though, because if they didn't they would have been killed themselves. Willingness to survive will trump morals 9 times out of 10, that is the true Human Nature.

    First vehicle you ever drove?

The first vehicle I drove? Interesting story, to me anyway. So I was fairly new to the game at the time. But I knew I wanted up North, away from the spawning towns and to find me some good loot at either Stary or the NW Airfield. To my joy I actually made it to both, hitting up Stary just before heading to the Airfield for a quick barracks run. This is the part of the story that may be a bit hazy, it happened a while ago, but what I do know is I got knocked out by one or more Zeds. By the time I regained conciousness, killed said Zed, and bandaged myself, I had a little under 1000 blood. No meat on me, but the tools to acquire and cook some, I head North, or West (maybe even South) of the airfield in search of some animal to save my life. Ever been alive on 1000 blood? Black and white blurriness that is almost impossible to see anything with, not even a compass 1 inch in front of my face. Again, the haziness strikes and cannot recall in full detail what exactly happened, but finding no animals, and bypassing some buildings a little too closely, I'm now running for my life with 2 or 3 zombies that I can pretty much only hear chasing me. Running across a field, not even sure what I was attempting to achieve now, since I couldn't have shot the zombies if I tried, I hear a rumble in the distance. It gets closer and closer, and I know that it is the do or die moment. But then sadly, the noise shoots from one ear to the other in my headphones, as I see a Ural shaped blur cross my path maybe 100 meters in front of me. (Absolutely gob smacked I hadn't been shot or run over by them, they really did pass pretty close, and a train of Zeds led by one guy can't be too inconspicuous running through the centre of a field). The only consolation was that it was heading for a group of trees a little to the left of where I was running currently. Perfect I thought, they have to be parking that there as a stash, and it might just save my life. At this point I had fully accepted that I was probably going to die, so I wasn't too bothered about even getting shot by the group who must have owned it. With renewed vigour I sprint after the truck noise, as its distinct blur had disappeared into the trees. My vigour ran out fairly quickly as the truck got quieter and further away into the distance, until I could hear it no more. With nothing to lose I keep running, no wavering from my line I keep going in the last known direction of the truck, getting more and more aware that it had been a considerable amount of time since I had last passed out, and was surprised to have made it this far really, but it is all random chance. And there it was, in all it's glory, A nice Ural, civilian model, parked right in front of me at the edge of the woods I had run through. Salvation, I thought, I really could make it out of this one alive, and with (potentially) some good gear in the back of this beast of a vehicle. I don't bother looking to see who was about, it would have only ended up with a death by Zed had I done anything other than run up to the drivers side door, get in and get the fuck out of dodge. I was ecstatic, I had done it. Beaten the odds of randomly falling unconscious, beaten the Zeds that had been chasing me for so long, I could have wept. My foot hit the pedal and I got a little Braveheart-ish, screaming FREEDOM as I floored that glorious vehicle to victory. Well, that sounds nice but As I was driving off about 4 or 5 different guns start pelting hot bits of lead my way, I would say I was glad they were a terrible shot and couldn't hit me. But had they been so bad as to miss the Ural then I don't think they would be playing a game with shooting mechanics. My saviour started to die slowly, as wheels were shot off, and resigning to my fate I switch the engine off and sit there, waiting for that one bullet to end me. Then inspiration strikes, I start to type rapidly into the chat: "Does anyone fancy helping me instead of shooting me?" I was not expecting it to work, but you may as well try your options when someone is using your head to knock on deaths door. And then it happens, I died. Haha. Sorry for the anti-climax guys, but this is the stuff that can only happen in this game, and I loved that encounter as much as I love the other random stuff that happens. I wish I could remember more of the little details, but honestly, all the main parts are there. Sorry for the super long post, but it's not much of a story if I only use the last few paragraphs, I hope you enjoyed anyway.

Please stop using that as an excuse. There wouldn't be any downsides to shooting first, only your own morality, and most people don't have morals, or ones that differ from yours. It is all down to the players, why would people be punished for using a perfectly viable survival strategy, in a survival game?
  13. discombobulated

    Why? Just why?

Most people think that the other guy won't have a chance if you're trained on him already. Which is mostly true, but remember that a head-shot will kill you regardless of whether it is with a Makarov, or an AS50. In that situation if they turn towards you, don't let them get a shot off, it could be the last thing that goes through your mind.

    Player vs Zombie Server

But neither of your suggestions turn the game back to zombies with PvP, it just ends up being a large group of people not killing each other, and not doing much else either, because surely you can't expect people to be able to migrate characters from SP/LAN to MP. So in the end what makes it different from being in a proper MP server with a group of your friends to an SP server? Hackers yes, they won't be able to join, but nothing of interest will ever happen because no one else will be able to join either. And "Rampant PvP" fits perfectly with survival in an apocalypse situation, because there are a lot of people that don't know who to trust, don't want to trust, or are too trusting of other players, and it ends up with people killing or being killed. Also my statement was there to inform you, you don't have to turn around and bite my head off because I misunderstood what you meant when you said: "Dude, those rules don't apply any more" to Delta saying that Non-PvP servers are against the rules of server hosting (Again, I might be misunderstanding that, if so, just tell me)

Need Medical Assistance? We can help.

I'll do my best to help out any way I can. I usually play on UK or German servers, but whatever gives me a good connection at the time really. Next time I find a vehicle I can fix and stash I will give you a shout out or something. Give me a PM or Skype me on: discombobulated187 if you need anything else, I get bored of playing on my own and usually choose to not play at all if no-one I know is online (I know like 2 people with the game, lol)

    Player vs Zombie Server

Same thing really, if you don't want to get shot by other players, there are ways to ensure it happens less. Not everyone will shoot on sight, I only will if I round a corner facing the barrel of a gun. If I see someone at a distance, and they're no threat, I will leave them be. If someone comes into the building I'm in, I will tell them to leave or I will shoot. If you don't like or accept PvP as apart of this game, then you will never enjoy it, as a lot of people will Kos, whether it's because they're bastards that do it just for fun, or people who have had bad experiences and shoot out of fear of getting shot again. Even if you find a server that mostly involves people that don't shoot, there will always be other people joining the server just to aggravate other players. A lot of people are dicks, and don't really care about irritating other people, just don't get attached to your character, you will die, even if it takes months of playing your character will eventually get killed by a glitch, hacker, bandit, or random chance. @sivart There are some things you can't change when you set up the server, and I'm pretty sure PvP is one of them (not 100% but hey)

    Player vs Zombie Server

It would just turn into a farming server, with everyone hitting up the high risk, high yield areas looking for the best gear with little risk. So no, there isn't any, and there won't be any in the future.

Need Medical Assistance? We can help.

Hey, do you medics need a hand? I would love to help you guys out, either by getting supplies, fixing up vehicles, or providing over-watch on any healing you do, (Can't stand people that act friendly then back-stab someone). At the moment I don't really have many people to play with, and being a lone wolf is a bit tedious at times. But yeah if you want/need anyone else to give you a hand from time to time, hit me up, and I'll see what I can do.
  19. Do the medics need any protection? I know they probably have some already but I will happily keep over-watch for you guys to make sure no-one back-stabs you. And if they do, they will be in worse health than when they started. I need some sort of goal in the game at the moment, so even gathering supplies or fixing vehicles for you guys would make it more interesting. Just send me a message or something, and I will be on later on tonight I hope, so I can give you lot a helping hand.

    Worst Way You Ever Died

Well my most idiotic death happened as follows: I was in one of the office/school buildings, happily marching around with my Mak in hand for any Zeds I come across. I get up to the roof, and instead of running through I decide to run around and see the scenery as I did so. Probably a silly mistake as my character wanted a very close view of the ground scenery and hurled himself off the roof. I had resigned to my fate by half way down, broken legs if not dead, unconscious and surely bleeding. Amazingly I only got knocked out and was bleeding slightly, I was so happy to be alive. Managed to regain conciousness and bandage myself, at about 8900ish blood. Pretty buzzed at surviving that, I start to get up and... Damn Zed hits me in the back of the head and I get knocked out, AGAIN, just enough time to see more and more zombies flood to my soon to be corpse and eat away. I don't know if I regained consciousness before I died, after the Zed knocked me down I just got up and went to get a drink. I was not happy. My worst death is another story, and inevitably involves another player. I shall save it for a rainy day. Wait I live in England... I'll save it for a rainier day.

    Bandit Skin Again?

If there is already a post for this, my bad, anyway are they really bringing back the old skins? I heard about this but wasn't sure if it was true or not, and yes I could look it up, but then I would have no thread for people to enjoy ranting for or against in. To set things straight, I'm not a bandit, but I don't want to know if someone is a bandit or not just by looking at them, it takes so much out of the game, and do you really know if someone is a bandit or not just by looking at them? Only in certain situations, none of which need a skin to tell me so. Not to mention how inaccurate it is. If someone starts shooting at you, but you manage to kill them, if they haven't shot someone before you get given a murder count. Really, a murder after killing in self defence? Clearly that should be a bandit kill, but the system doesn't work on whether a player is intending to kill someone or not, as it can't know. It means a lot of players are going to be bandits whether they are or not, which then makes them targets to all other players. Finally what is going to happen to people with Ghillie suits in the game, will they cover over the bandit skin or not? Neither way makes sense, as if the bandit skin shows over the ghillie, then there is no point in wearing one at all. And if it doesn't, then what was the point of the bandit skin in the first place, as it can just be covered over. That's just me though, if it's not true than the relevance of this thread = 0. If it is happening, (or has happened in the most recent patch, because I've yet to manage to log on for more than 25 seconds since) then post your own thoughts about how you feel about bandit/survivor skins.

    Bandit Skin Again?

This seems like a bit of an invalid argument in my opinion. If you are willing to change your play style drastically just because of how others play, then that's down to you and not the game don't you think? If you don't want to get killed by a bandit, team up, avoid high risk areas, if you see someone, approach in a way that gives you the advantage and initiate contact. Or just go off in a different direction if you want to. And yes I agree not everyone is going to kill you in a ZA just for fun, but in the same RL situation people are going to be scared, and they will kill you for fear of their own life, which is exactly how this game plays out without bandit skins. There are ways of avoiding death that are easy and simple. I don't go to a shoot on sight mentality, I might do if I walk round the corner facing the barrel of a gun, but I won't just kill for fun. The game lets me choose how I react to other players, but it takes away a lot of the choice if you can see if someone is good or bad. But the advantage will always go to the easy way of playing, which is banditry. It is an easier way to play, and therefore much more satisfying to do well as a survivor. Just knowing if someone is a bandit or not isn't going to save your life. How about if you meet someone who has only just re-spawned, but found a gun. Are they a survivor or a bandit? Same situation with the Ghillie Suits, if you can't see the headband then you will probably just assume they are a bandit. Then you get the murder count for killing them, and now you're the bandit. The mechanic for the skin is broken, and will always be, because you can't program human errors into the game.

    Bandit Skin Again?

Care to elaborate, I mean, do you mean the Mod or this Poll?
  24. discombobulated

    Bandit Skin Again?

Even with it working properly it will just ruin the game for me, this is my own personal opinion, but that fear factor is gone when you spot someone and instantly know if they are a good or bad player. It just seems to ruin the whole atmosphere of the game, without any good reason for it.
  25. discombobulated

    Bandit Skin Again?

He could be a bad shot and keep missing you until you kill him. Also that is the smallest point, the biggest point is that it ruins the game if you instantly know if someone is good or bad, and if the Ghillie suit can counter it, then it is even more pointless, as you don't know if Mr Ghillie man is a bandit or a survivor anyway.
