I think it's hilarious that people think ammo rarity is going to reduce KOS at all, if anything it will increase it. People are not going to want to KOS any less just because there are less weapons and bullets laying around, all that has happened is you have reduced the number of weapons, not the desire to kill. If ammo is extremely rare than I will make doubly sure to kill anyone I see so I can collect the ammo that they have been collecting on their body. It'd be so much easier and less risky than trying to scavenge ammo continually. and chances are that if ammo is rare laying about, than players will be more likely to become large deposits of bullets, as they will pick more of it up knowing it's rare.

Why do people cry so much when they presume on my mercy?

I'll take you all with a revolver and twelve shots. One for every two heads. -
Before you Kill On Sight, Try This!...

Mountain dew is nasty ass shit. I drink sake for entertainment purposes. Does not killing on sight get me more sake? If it doesn't then why would I bother? -

Why? What do you get out of it? -
You say I can't be taken seriously, yet my topics receive hundreds of replies, and people like you come into them repeatedly! Don't mistake me: I am always serious. That is why I'm always taken seriously. My way of thinking is based on my viewpoint. But it is not based on my viewpoint alone. I am pretty sure KoS will be just as rampant in SA as it is now, if not more. the changes that have been added simply will not do what everyone is thinking they will, if you thnk about it for ten seconds instead of being stubborn and refusing to see different options. I'd say your problem is just a refusal to be wrong.

faaaaaaaaaaaaaaart If you run from me, I'm just going to shoot, and you're going to die. I don't trust people who run away or make sudden moves. It means they plan on doing whatever they want. -
So does the way you play Dayz reflect your 'real life' personality?
Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Jock McScottish's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I do act in DayZ very similar to how I really do though in general terms. I help people with the goal of expanding my circle of friends, allies, and contacts. Also I always do whatever I can to gain face for the organization I am representing. Whoa bro. Lighten up bro. Be cool. It's just a forum discussion. Not everyone has to be like you. Some of us have a plan to kill everyone we meet, some of us... Sit around and sing songs and hug or something? -

Why kill them, when you can steal, cheat, or force what you want from them; then kill them? If you want to rely on someone, it's going to catch up to you one day. That's a true weakness. -

If a real zombie apocolypse happened, I'd run off alone, collect as many weapons as possible, and kill everyone I see. Just like I do in game. There really is no other way to do it. -
rofl if all I do is not shoot anyone than I won't ever have more than a few rounds. shooting people means I have a chance to find bullets for my gun on my body. I'm going to use EVERY round I have on people's headcases because it's the most economic way. If all else fails and there are so few weapons and ammo left that no one can arm up, than it will just resort to KOS melee style.

Give me one logical reason why gear destruction will delay KOS
Ozelot (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You can't. Because it won't. I don't shoot people to get their gear in the game now. I shoot them so I won't lose mine. And I'm really not going to be too concerned about shooting some guy with just a flashlight, just incase I might break it, even if I did care. I will continue to lone-dog it and kill everyone I meet, armed or not. -

Why do people cry so much when they presume on my mercy?
Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I never said I was a 'decent human being' (whatever that means.) So many assumptions lately! I'm the one with the gun, so I decide what is etiquette and what isn't. If I'm giving you a chance to live and walk away, than that's more than anyone deserves. -
Why do people cry so much when they presume on my mercy?
Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have repeatedly stood completely still when someone was staring down me with a weapon and I had nothing. Guess what happened? More often than not I was not shot, and let go. There is a legitimate psychological predicate that if you are dealing with someone who is going to shoot you anyway, it will not make a difference. But if you are dealing with someone who is less likely to shoot you, what condition do you think they will fire? When you run, or when you stay still? Chance of getting shot if you run = 100% Chance of not getting shot if you stay = 90% (According to you) Which has the better chance of survival? The reason for this is very simple actually. If you stay still it indicates you are willing to cooperate. If you got shot after running away in someone's line of sight, sorry but it's your fault. You should have stayed still. It's sad folks are so foolish as not to recognize this simple survival rule. but if they want to die bloodied and screaming, it's their choice. Just don't cry like a babby and blame the 'mean ol' bandit' for your foolishness. -

You're going to have a hard time intimidating me with that flashlight in your hands. Maybe if you flick it on and off really fast it'll blind me. Oh look, I have one round left in my m14. Let's see how fast you can get to the roof of the firestation and jump off. -

I'll let my gun do the talking. It doesn't matter if you think it's a 'logical conclusion' it's still an assumption that resulted in your death. Never assume! Maybe the next time you're in this scenario again, you'll consider my words... Or not. -

He got the chance to make a choice, on his own. He made the wrong one. I never said anything about it being fair. The world isn't fair, my friend. I'm not out to change that. -

Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
And stupid assumptions like this are what get you killed, rather than alive. You make the choice, not me. At the very least he shouldn't have just up and bolted. Staying still until he or I said something would have been a better decision. If you get up and run away from someone with a long gun pointed at you, they're probably just going to shoot. Running won't help because they'll hit you any way. At least I will. I hit the target EVERY time. Gun pointed at you = Good time NOT to make ANY sudden moves. No exceptions. -

Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's etiquette. People get banned/killed for breaking unspoken rules all the time. He stared directly at me for an entire five seconds before deciding to turn and run. If he had taken those five seconds to think 'hmm, this person isn't shooting me?' and decided not to just bolt, he would have lived. You do not have to say things to make your intent clear, when you have a gun in your hand. It sort of speaks for you. -

Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
He made a sudden movement without identifying himself or saying anything, so he lost his chance to live. He should have understood implicitly that if I was going to shoot, it would have happened long before he even saw me. -

To the people whinging about how they get reveng killed in the cities, I really have to ask: If you just killed someone in a high-profile spot that is easy for them to re-reach, why the hell would you hang around there continually like an idiot? If you get killed because of this, do you really have ANYBODY to blame but yourself? It's not the spawn-choosing system that's at fault, it's your own stubbornness and stupidity. Logic: Knowing a bandit is coming, but staying and choosing to die stubbornly? Oh, I'll just whine later and blame it all on the spawn system. -

Ecuse me but those "cheap tactics" have nothing to do with finding your friends, so it does not in fact fail. -
