Men and women have clear physical differences. This doesn't make them 'unequal' so I don't understand all this alarmism.

Devblog video confirms that if you get shot in the head with a helmet on, you get knocked out. It's NOT realistic at all to take a shot to the head and keep standing, even with a heavy-duty ballistic helmet on. Unless you're getting grazed by like a .22 from far away or something. -
A light dissertation on Morality in DayZ
Ozelot (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Morality of convenience is still morality. Hell, morality is really nothing more than a facade put up by people in order to function in their given societies. -
You can't hit anything up close with the DMR. And if you can SEE somebody at all, chances are you can hit them with the red dot if you're skilled. It's how I roll. I always level up from lee > cz 550 > dmr > m14 aim for PKs. Usually doesn't take me more than two hours after a respawn to do so on a decent pop server :)

A light dissertation on Morality in DayZ
Ozelot (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Absolutely incorrect. There is NO such thing as an objective moral truth. Try to come up with even one, I dare you. Nazis were considered morally wrong from those outside their social order. Inside, what they were doing was the highest moral imperative. You can argue that Hitler did not accomplish what he set out to do but you cannot prove what he did was objectively wrong. As an aside rule of thumb, however, those who claim they know what is objectively right and wrong, are usually the ones who are the most incorrect and least able-bodied to comment on such matters. -
A light dissertation on Morality in DayZ
Ozelot (DayZ) replied to SalamanderAnder (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The point is that morality has traditionally been derived from such sources. The bible and texts like it, are in fact treatises on morality. Morality IS subjective and has varied between time and place. Hitler thought it was moral and just to commit genocide and prevent racial mixing. Was he wrong? From a moral perspective he was to everyone OUTSIDE his regime. But the people on the inside... -

You speak as if logic always gives a direct, infallable, objective answer. As if someone like you could have all the answers. In fact, morality cannot be defined with logic alone, and rarely is. Unless you ACTUALLY believe something like the bible or the koran is 'logical.' -

Morality is based on opinion, not fact. I doubt you've taken any college classes at all. I have a 3.9 GPA at a private Chicago university. -

Basically, anything you think about morality in this game is bullshit because it's all subjective. One thing right to one person, is wrong to another and vice versa. -

It doesn't matter how you poor, poor people feel about it. It's their servers and they get to make their own rules, what they are doing is completely legal. Deal w/ it. -

Ozelot (DayZ) replied to anderse's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What you THINK is okay, and what is legal have no correlation between each other. Shop owners rent out their spaces from other people and use that space to make money. If you have a problem with it, report it to the authorities. Whining here changes nothing. -

>Implying people should never do anything unless they can pay for it 100% by themselves and give it away for free. I'm guessing you don't feel like Dean Hall & company deserve to even get paid for the work they do on the mod/SA? -

Give me one logical reason why gear destruction will delay KOS
Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
All the people saying "Oh, killing on sight was just meant to be dissuaded, not stopped" are making me crack. Gear destruction will not dissuade anybody. Maybe 0.000000001% of players. As I have repeatedly stated, KOS happens because you want to protect your own gear, not take someone elses. It's sad this simple concept is so hard to understand for you. -
Give me one logical reason why gear destruction will delay KOS
Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Actually, I can. Because we've seen it before. Hundreds of flashlight-toating noobs are killed on the coasts in the mod every day. No one cares about the gear they have or how conservative they should be with ammo. Why are people going to care after? I doubt most KOS'rs even PICK UP the gear from their kills, because it's extremely risky to even bother with most of the time. -

Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If someone chooses not to kill regardless, how does the change actually affect anyone or anything? The answer: it doesn't. People who KOS'd before will continue to. Just saying well this person won't! doesn't mean EVERYONE else will follow that example. Many people might decide to KOS even harder. -

Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No one is going to care if ammo is scarce. If your gear can't be gotten back, you aren't going to want to take the risk of dying even more than before. See somebody with a gun? any gun? BAM. And if all it takes is an accurate shot to kill someone and steal their gear, it won't stop good gear-hunters from getting what they want. -

Ozelot (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I never said I didn't like it, fool. I just find it hilarious that stupid people think it will actually prevent everyone from killing everyone like they already do. I don't care about your gear, and even I did, I wouldn't take the risk of trying to take it from you while you're still alive. It makes 0% difference. This game will continue to be nothing more than a permadeath counterstrike with weapon scavenging elements. -
