Been playing for a bit over a year, Skype is SCVinyl.

I've tried literally everything, and no matter what, I can't get above 20-25 FPS in cities such as Cherno and Elektro (even on normal settings throughout). My [important] specs are as follows: GPU: GTX 670 CPU: i7 3770k @ 3.6 GHz RAM: 16GB @ 1600MHz I know those aren't my full specs, but my other specs probably wouldn't matter too much. It's obviously known that DayZ is terribly optimized, but my setup should be able to run it at 40 fps at least in the cities... And yes, like I said, I [try to] play at normal settings. Also, I do have quite the amount of fans that I've thrown into my case, so it's not heat that's the problem (Max GPU temp is 60C and max CPU temp is 55C). I've tried about 10 servers and have no luck on any. Each server I try has a ping of below 40-50 ms in relation to me, so I really don't understand this. I've tried every config trick, updated drivers for everything, etc. Anyone have any tips? Thanks.

Wait a minute... If anyone can help me, I just realized something. The problem appears to be microstuttering, and it only happens when I'm zoomed out. When I zoom in, it's smooth as can be... Anyone have a fix for this?

Are you sure about that? It seems unlikely that the generation of processor could effect the performance of a game so much. Meh, you could easily be right, it's quite strange that people with lower-performance GPUs are getting better gameplay than me.

Wow, that actually mostly fixed it! I was able to get 30-35 fps in the center of Cherno with even higher settings than I had previously. Thanks for the help!

Alright, that might be just it. I tried disabling Vsync (my monitor is 60 Hz) to prevent tearing when my FPS was higher, and that did make it somewhat playable. I always play on highly populated private hives, so I'll give lowly populated publics a try. I'll give an update on what happens afterwards.

In the middle of the cities I can get down to 15 fps. I mean, seriously, does Rocket run DayZ on like 9 GTX 690s or something?

Right, so I got a bit bored of my current life in DayZ. I had an AK-74 Kobra and an AKM. I decided to head up to the Northwest Airfield. I quickly found an M249 SAW. I wanted to play the new maps, and I really didn't care what happened, so I ran out with around 4 boxes of ammo into the middle of the airfield and started blasting it off. I had a couple snipers fire at me, so I ran into the nearby forest and got a kill from someone who didn't really have much and was getting to the airfield. I ran back into the airfield, killed as many zombies as possible, before a team of about 3 people took me out. I regret nothing. Huehuehuehuehue

Just a question here. I've never looted the town of Balota because I always just go through the airfield and find an AKM or something of the sort, but I need a new backpack soon as well as some food and water, and those seem to never be on the airstrip. So, I ask of you, how successful have your raids been of the town in Balota? I'm wondering if it's worth going through all the zombies there. Thanks.

Just warning you all. I was right next to the NW airfield and everyone in the game was teleported to the middle of the ocean. I don't even know what to do right now, I'm just stuck in the middle with tons of other people. Damn it. Seriously pissed off at all the hackers. EDIT: Came back in to see the aftermath. Was quite funny. Dead bodies all over the water. I tried swimming back and ended up dying. Dang it bobbeh

Friendly? I am, all I got is an axe

I'm more of a noob than a lot of people, but I still have experience. I started with an ALICE pack, fucktons of food and drinks, an AKM, and around 3 mags for it. I left the mountain between Elektro and Cherno at around 4 AM server time. I finally got to Stary (VERY carefully) around 5 am server time. Why did it take so long? Because I constantly monitored exactly where I was, how many zombies there were, and listened closely for gunshots. So, I stayed in the forest right next to the military tents for around 5-10 minutes, making sure there was nobody that had their crosshairs on me. Then, I went in. Now I have a fuckton times 3 of food and drinks, as well as around 10 AKM mags. I was actually happy I didn't find another weapon there besides an AK-74 and a Remmington w /flashlight because I love my AKM :P (one shots zombies still) I got out without attracting 1 zombie. Why is this such a great feat in my eyes? Well, maybe because the last time I went to stary I killed two people and was thinking I could raid the camp alive, and then when I walked out of the tent, 2-3 snipers started completely loading me with bullets. Now I have a question, should I go to the NW Airfield? I've actually never gone there before, but I do know the right place(s) to raid. I know it's more dangerous than running through Cherno in plain daylight (which I've done successfully before xD), but is the loot worth it?

Yeah, this seriously pisses me off too. You're walking around in a forest with all the stuff you can imagine having, and all of a sudden BOOM, some asshole teleports to you and blasts your face off. Seems like this would be much easier to prevent.

I'll throw in the usual, what about hackers? They teleport you to the sky, and you can't do anything because you have to wait 20 seconds. I would love for the hackers to be eliminated first xD

Why not just suicide if you have nothing?

I assume you got onto a server with an independent database, therefore it doesn't keep your player in the HIVE.
