I also only bought the game to play DayZ, but i am willing to pay full price for a stand-alone version because it gives the developers a chance to bring in much more content, work out bugs, weed out hackers, and put the game in a real positive direction. I feel the mod was worth the 25 dollars I payed for arma just to get a taste of what it was.

No you won't, same thing happened to me. Fell, DC'd in an attempt to save myself, succeeded i thought, because i didn't see the "you are dead" , then I logged in choosing whether i was a male or female. *edit* No i did not run off anything, i was on a sniper spot and somehow my gun pushed me off >.< -

Apparently battle-eye has a plan in the works to ban a bunch of hackers. So just wait and see. Besides, it's just a mod, no need to get your panties in a bunch about it- I'm sure the stand-alone version will address the problem since they are more connected to it than battle-eye is. -

I don't do it myself, it kind of ruins the value of game-play when you do things that exploit. I wouldn't consider it cheating though, you're just doing something that half of everyone else is doing anyways. -

Where someone runs around has nothing to do with where they found their gun. Cherno and elektro are the most trafficked areas, of course someone with a new shiny sniper rifle would want to go there to do their kill shots. -

This gun is zeroed up to 300m. I'm surprised it's labeled as so inaccurate. Thermal vision can not see through glass, and that is really the only negative besides the scope not having a normal vision for day time. It is by no means OP, and while it's dupable it will never be "rare", regardless of how tweeked the spawn point becomes. I think it's a pretty cool gun. It has it's ups and downs like any other rifle. The thermal does not cut through solid objects, so if you can be seen through their scope, you could find them through yours. Rifle is not broken, should not changed, in my opinion atleast. -

Barbed wire set ups have no positives right now. They effectively stop players, but it is very easy to make them irremovable. Which means they are broken. Until they are fixed, they should be removed. Just like the gillie suits. Fix em, re-implement em. -

Yes, quite unplayable indeed. Even if I were to bear through it and attempt to play, I certainly would not enjoy it. Bottom line, artifact error needs to be a top priority in the fix list!

If you still have a desire to play, I would suggest playing on low-pop servers as a temporary fix until the issue is dealt with. Hard to believe anyone gets enjoyment from hacking the game like that.. Kind of defeats the purpose..

You're right, because Arma 2 brought in such a large player base on it's own. Oh wait, That's why Arma 2 released a patch to cater specifically to DayZ. Because they're doing so well on their own.. See, it's kind of like a lego set imo. Anyone can follow the instructions and build the picture on the box, but It takes ingenuity to take that same lego set, and build something else that is fresh and well thought out. -

Yeah, me and my buddies were locked down in a 3v3 firefight out north of balota in the middle of no where for about an hour. Eventually we won, of course. But it was totally unexpected, and very exciting. I understand why you're getting so mad. Because the game is in alpha, you're more that welcome to voice you're opinion on the game in hopes that the developers will change something to make it more appealing to you, but you have to understand that trolling and grilling other players for their opinion on the game isn't going to help anything. Of course, negative comments were made to you first, and that's why i understand you dwelling under the bridge with the fellow trolls. Remember, positive feedback has much more impact than negative. Edit: More like south of Kozlovka. -
Night time doesn't serve a purpose

In my opinion, a cool idea would be putting those power plants to use, and allowing players to activate street lights in that area/city connected to the plant, even if only for a short period of time. Otherwise, grab NVGs, or pick up a flare/chemlight you throw down- But careful! you might become a beacon for some lucky bandit! -
Is there actually confirmation that radios are going to be added? or is it just a suggestion that's been thrown around? Seems like it would be the same as having a optional side chat. Unless, of course, you could change the frequency to certain channels. That would be a great alternative. Although it would be kind of hard to find out what frequency a player you want to team up with is using without a side chat Like i said before, I'll be playing with my RL friends and patiently waiting for a good solution to this death match mentality for as long as it takes. Thanks for the food for thought though.

I agree. Right now, I feel there is no encouragement to team up with other players in game. Sure, you could post that you're looking for a clan or team or help on the forums, but other players can easily pose as friendly's, then gun you down for entertainment. There's actually several videos of this happening. The same thing could happen in game, of course, but... In a server, it's real time and people are actively engaged in the game, which makes it more desirable to group up with someone else who's in the game (who's facing the same challenges you are) for a little bit to get through a city, or help repair a vehicle, or whatever, then go your separate ways. Or, come to like each other's play style, and decide to group up more often. They say trust no one in DayZ, and i agree. But I know there's a lot of players out there who just want to help the newbs get set to defend themselves against bandits and zombies.. But the newbs don't know which players are friendly and which are bandits.. So we get the fire fight fest automatically on sight of players. Haven't seen a zombie apocalypse in real life, but in the movies there's usually camps with several survivors that work as a militia to defend the well being of the group. Then again, they usually all end up turning on eachother.. Of course this is just my personal opinion, it's not backed by a lot of facts, and in no way am i grilling the DayZ team for disabling it. The negatives are there for side chat, but i feel the positives out weigh them. With an enable/ disable feature, i feel it would please the majority of the player base. Just a suggestion to improve a mod that is still in alpha. Regardless, mod is still very enjoyable and interesting, and I'll continue to play with my RL group e/w.
