The one problem I have with NIGHT...
chrismgtis (DayZ) replied to hannibaldaplaya's topic in General Discussion
No the #1 problem with night is you can't see a zombie from a mile away. But they damn sure will see you and you won't know it until they are eating your face. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
chrismgtis (DayZ) replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
What I've seen of hackers is undeniable hacking. So yes, it's a fact. Helicopters that aren't obtainable in the game and other undeniable hacks that I've witnessed on a consistent basis are indeed a fact and not "desync" that so many losers like to lay the blame on. -

Most people that feel that there are few hacks in SA or Mod simply don't play on populated servers. They will find that once they start playing on servers with actual people logged in and playing that their experience becomes pretty bland because of the amount of cheating going on. While you may be right in saying that about "aimbotters", the fact that is that 90% of hacks are very blatantly obvious in this game (Mod or SA). I've seen people flying aircraft that weren't obtainable in DayZ Mod, invisible players that would walk into a room with you and kill you and you couldn't see them... the list goes on. Not everyone is just crazy or stupid when it comes to claiming that there are hackers in the game. The game is riddled with them. It always has been. The only thing that might make it worse is making a DayZ mod with Call of Duty. That's the only place I've ever seen more hackers... then again I barely played CoD and in that very short time I witnessed countless hackers spinning around doing headshot after headshot every 1-2 seconds on a constant basis. I've spent a lot of time in DayZ and witnessed a lot of very blatant hacking. -

Then you couldn't have played very often on servers with actual people on them. Simple as that. -
That's a quite stupid and pretty much unworkable idea. If you ignored them then you were doing it wrong. I got a hell a lot of good loot off them and visited them regularly. In fact I was more likely to get geared up doing that then visiting NWAF for example. And loot spawns were way better at crash sites.

It's time that characters are forced to remain on one server, eliminating server-hopping. The wait time does no alleviate the issues of server-hoppers. It will also solve other problems and add realism and fear to the game. Server hopping makes the game entirely too easy. It also makes it entirely too easy to acquire loot. I've been playing on an off since semi-early DayZ Mod and allowing people to server hop, even with a wait time, simply damages too many mechanics and allows people to survive too easily. It might also be time to keep characters in the game for a number of seconds after leaving the server to prevent people from simply leaving to avoid death. Everyone knows this has been an issue since the beginning, especially when facing other players. Zombies are obviously still very bugged and not being able to simply just leave might add a little headache when wanting to avoid zombies, but it's a necessary evil regardless. Face it, anyone who disagrees is probably a server hopper that abuses the option instead of facing other players and drops when they can't win.

Looking back, Do you think that EA release was a good idea?
chrismgtis (DayZ) replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
I call BS on that. They knew they were going to make a lot of money by doing it and they knew they were going to be making money TWICE in many cases, because a LOT of people purchased Arma 2 just for DayZ and you want to capitalize on the current demand which would fall off as time went by. THAT was their reason for releasing it. NOT because people begged for it. Don't fall into such BS lies. -

Hats, masks, random useless items and a few UI changes are not progress. Easily amused? -

I've yet to have the following happen to me (which happened in DayZ Mod too often): - (no helicopters in standalone) players acquiring a helicopter not available in DayZ and flying it around. - Nuking a server, killing all players on the server when someone kills them and causes them to lose their hacked helicopter. - Going invisible and killing me at point blank when I can't see them. - Server hopping (not technically hacking). - Combat logging (not technically hacking). Standalone: - Server hoppers moving to my position and then "ghosting" to kill me (not hacking). - I've been made aware of an exploit/cheat that let's a person stand in a certain position where they are unable to be seen. - I've been told about a hack that allows players to remove walls so that they can see players in buildings. -

Yet another kid that doesn't understand the concept that developers love to call things alpha just so they can get away with doing practically nothing at that point. Which is exactly what SA is doing. The past is 100% proof that you won't see much of any progress from now until the end of the year. You can't argue differently. DayZ Mod and SA's past both prove my point. So is your uninformed opinion that because it's labeled as an alpha better than the factual evidence of the past and present history of little to no progress? No, it isn't. Not to mention the many lies we were told about how standalone was a grand move forward well before it was even released as a "alpha". They practically represented standalone as a practically new and better engine. It's not even remotely that. There is little to no difference between standalone and Arma 2 except minor differences here and there. The same bugs exist. A few very very minor things are "better" or just "different". If you can even call it that. Nothing meriting the time involved whatsoever. So I tell you: provide some actual evidence that things will change. Because we have actual evidence that it won't. Stop getting butt hurt. It's apparent that you are new to DayZ and just don't get it or have the experience to back up your fan boy raging when someone points out the obvious truth from experience. You sound like the children that flew off the handle when people told the truth about WarZ. Now they know they were scammed and lied to. Hell, people provided them with facts and evidence that they were being scammed from day one but they still chose to ignore it and talk about how amazing the game was well before release. -

What exactly are you smoking? As far as a 660, the engine is quite bad and a 660 simply isn't sufficient to make up for the engine's issues. -

Funny thing is in DayZ mod stealth DID allow you to avoid zombies, if you were slow and low enough and used cover. Now they see you through an entire building from 5000 ft. -

I will give those working on DayZ (mod and SA, current and past) this: the engine is just inexcusably bad and I'm pretty sure it's damn near impossible to do anything productive with it. -
There's nothing wrong with bikes. A little comedy in the game never hurts and bicycles are a quicker way to get around.

Speaking from experience as an experienced "fun jumper" (parachutist) I'd never pick up some random parachute rig laying somewhere, but as we say I guess... any fabric is better than no fabric. Let's just say the "condition" of a parachute should play heavily on whether or not it actually opens. That could be pretty "fun". So parachutes being easy to find isn't a big deal, but whether or not they open: that's where the danger should come into play.

So you're admitting (or claiming) to have provided hacks for yourself and/or others. It's people like you that need a swift brick to the face. -
Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
chrismgtis (DayZ) replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
Issues: - They see through walls and bolt toward you. - They can see you from a mile away. - If you're carrying ANYTHING you can't run fast enough, it takes a while to move the item out of your hand. - If you experience any lag, they will gain on you quickly. - If you log in to a server next to a zombie you just might have a zombie in your face when the game loads up. - They are 10x the hassle that they've ever been, even as far back as earlier DayZ Mod. - They "bunny hop" like some Counterstrike kid. From what I've seen on YouTube and the state zombies were in prior to now, this update is FUBAR. But we are used to no less from the parties involved in development of DayZ. Since you're new I'll enlighten you since you want to be a smartass. When will they fix zombies? Never. They've been claiming that they would soon for several years. Dean even claimed that he did before DayZ SA was released to the "public" back when we only had pre-alpha footage. Experience would prove at this point that they don't have a clue how to fix it or can't and never will and that you shouldn't be gullible enough to believe that they will. -
I can't imagine why people are saying he might have been a victim of a restart. He simply could have just logged in at that moment for the first time. Derp. Surely that isn't a possibility.

The term was basically used incorrectly. He didn't define really how it applied to DayZ exactly. -

If you knew anything about the gaming industry you would know that many companies have an inclination to label something an alpha or beta so that they have a "valid" excuse for little to no progress. There is very little about the game that makes it an actual alpha. The fact always stands: every party involved has made little to no progress since the beginning of DayZ Mod to now. And for the love of God, helmets and masks are not progress. It's nice to know that someone was paying attention and has a clue. -
I'm not entirely sure English is your first language, but if you just said what I can only assume you just said, you must be smoking something less healthy than cannabis.

Dean and the rest have been making those empty claims for something like two years. You obviously haven't been around long or you would KNOW that all these promises and statements are nothing but empty words that won't ever be fulfilled. It isn't happening. In a years' time you will learn just as the rest of us have. Calling this game an alpha is nothing but an excuse to get money while they can. That is why it was released and they know very well what their intentions were. Whole studio working on Zed AI? You're doing a great job of sucking the nip. PROVE to me that they are doing much more than sitting back and spending most of their time on a company yacht. Oh wait, you can't. Especially with any valid proof with any actual real progress. And that won't change. As far as the engine involved: you can't fix it or they simply don't care to. They've proven that. Bohemia's track record is more than enough to know that is a fact, as is Dean's. It doesn't matter if development is changing hands. In a year's time, you will be proven to be a fool just as many others were who claimed DayZ Mod was going to see amazing progress. -

I'm literally laughing my butt off right now. You're as clueless as you can possibly get and basking in the lies. The game DOES suffer from those same bugs. You might want to actually have experience with these engines before you make an absurd claim like that. It's also just hilarious how developers can simply call their product an alpha or a beta and people like you that have no idea what is going on, bite the bait, line and sinker. So many companies are doing this and simply continuing to call their product an alpha/beta a year-two down the road well until what is full release (and many of them never drop it and people continue to defend these products claiming they are alpha/beta). DayZ players clearly fall into that crowd of gullible players. This will, I promise you, be the case for quite a long time with DayZ. If you seriously think that shifting the development to some no-name developers now that Dean is "leaving" is going to change anything, I feel sorry for you.
