  1. Server Name: US Hardcore 1-4 Slots: 50 Difficulty: Expert - No 3rd person, No crosshairs, no FOV dots. Version: 1.60 (Not Beta patched) but Beta is allowed Location: Dallas, US Time Zone: PST Teamspeak 3: dallas.jestservers.com:7080 pw: freedom Rules: Typical DayZ rules apply. We kick high pingers (+250) to keep lag down. No VOIP allowed, other than over Direct chat. Contact: Myself on here via PM, or on TS3. Donations welcome, please ask for information on TS. We have 4 servers up now! All of them are setup with no 3rd person, no crosshairs, no death messages, no scoreboard, and will soon be setup to be in expert mode. I'll have to have a chat with the mod devs, because despite the mission settings, and server settings, it always goes back to veteran mode. All difficulty settings are set to disable the noob stuff, only difference is the FOV dots that show where rabbits, cows, zombies, and hidden bandits are. Looking to get those disabled, and they will be ASAP. Servers are supported by http://13thsfg.com head over there for teamspeak info in order to link up with us on the server. We are actively looking for other groups or individuals to help create an anti bandit coalition.

    US Hardcore Servers

You used racist words that were not tolerable in any circles except the KKK, and will remain banned from our servers. Racism is not tolerated in the mod anywhere, and I feel you as a person have a lot of growing up to do. to other server admins, his Player ID is: 10752966 Hope you enjoyed the beans while they lasted.

To US Hardcore admins (server 2 especially)

We are also testing bandwidth settings to see what works best to allow us to keep all 4 servers online and without lag. So untill we can find the perfect settings we will keep tweaking things. All for the better in the long run!

    tent issue / gutting animals

I have this issue. Cant place tents, and cant gut animals. I also always have a "save old camping tent" in my action menu.
  6. @LEV: Yes bandits can do this too, any group should be able to. The risk comes in remaining in place long enough to revive your friend, if you even have the equipment. Also you would have to complete the revive before 5 minutes. If there is a huge firefight between two groups, many would not be able to be revived, due to the time it would take to finish the fight, ensure the area is now safe, and then locate the downed person. Assuming the people still alive carried the medical gear (or had access to it in the downed person's backpack), they would have limited time to revive people. The revive function would then serve to revive the unfortunate losses due to a zombie rush, or a single bandit doing something stupid, and not neccessarily clan wars.

    Chopper Radar

This should be disabled, as its too easy for people with choppers to simply fly around and find the dots on the radar, corresponding to working vehicles on the map. In most cases those vehicles are parked near the campsites of the vehicle owner. This gives way too much power to those with choppers.
  8. I tried using your information to run the beta on my servers, but it didnt work. Can you post your full start line for an example?
  9. Best reward for working as a group I feel should be the ability to revive somebody. Revive that costs a good handful of medical supplies ie: 3 bandages, 2 bloodbags, 2 painkillers, 1 morphine, 1 epi. is a good way to balance it. Most groups would have this on hand if it was about 3-4 people, where a group of two may have a hard time carrying this much medical supplies and enough food/water/wood/ammo to survive well enough. Larger groups could easily afford to distribute the supplies across their members, as they can spare the room. Its nothing forced on players, but an option for all to use if they are lucky enough to have the equipment. It being a bit time consuming also has some inherent risk involved (more bandits attracted to the gun fire, zombies for several reasons), and should also be limited to a 5 minute timer. It would save a life or two (maybe more in larger groups) when they come across a random bandit that is out for some lulz. It would be very rewarding to save the life of a downed team mate, and not ruin the fun of the group if a few members are now KIA and back in beanville.

    US Hardcore Servers

AFAIK the main difference is no FOV dots (those little white dots that move around showing you where objects within 200m are, that are just off you screen in any direction). Bigmorgan, no worries man, you took from us some nice stuff, but nothing that was really needed. You have to understand that this is war though, all in good fun of course.
  11. Every time I try to launch monitor, I just get some python error saying theres nothing named "linecache" and some other bs. People are having issues connecting to the US Hardcore servers.
  12. I'd love to rocket, but I have no clue where to get the files.... EDIT: Finally got a link from somebody on the live chat, I had to damn near beg to get it, yet my server is still getting some python error when I try to start monitor.

    The Bandit Code

The real bandit code: pewpew from the hills with my CZ, and alt+f4 if they find me.
  14. I like it how it is. I'm not a noob, nor an NVG owner and I still operate just fine in the dark. Wait till there is some moon out and you'll be able to stay up late to play with the big boys.

Sounds good BigMorgan! We call server 1 our home, and actively kick retards, high pingers and known sploit groups. We do need to build a team of trusted admins to help control the kiddies on servers 2,3, and 4 though. Send your resume to Bandit or myself for consideration.

An open letter to the silent majority

Excellent post OP, I had voiced a similar concern about 3-4 weeks ago, and it is still a concern to me. I have faith in rocket keeping true to his mod, and his goals for it. I enjoy seeing the new content he is adding, and don't mind if things don't work so well the first time around. Today I logged in as soon as the 1.5.8.1 patch was on, and had a cough immediately. I could have been upset that I got screwed right off the bat, and came whining about it on the forum. But instead, I ran around giving "AIDS" to all my buddys and had a laugh about it. I knew that the feature would not stay as it was, rocket needed time to gather data and make some tweaks. If everybody just got offline, or didn't get anybody sick, how is he supposed to know what to change? I did my part getting him that data, and had a good time doing it. Keep true to what your doing man, have fun with YOUR mod, as it is wholeheartedly yours to do with it as you please. I love the new gameplay mechanics, and the game feels more REAL already. Having to gather wood for a fire, is something that is a real necessity in a survival situation. Everybody sitting around the fire for a while is pretty cool too, it forces to you stop what your doing and bs with each other for a while. Kinda off topic, but the idea that he is implementing things that other people might hate or think was a dumb feature is awesome to me, and i want to see more of those ideas coming into the mod in the future. Love the work, love the mod, keep it up!

You Do Not Get a Cold From Being Cold

WHO CARES! its a game, and a game mechanic to force players to focus more on surviving, rather than being beanherders. ffs get a life. And for the record, no you don't get a cold from being cold... but it works for the game, so quit all your wannabe internet educated bs, and enjoy the hard work rocket has put into the game to make it fun.

    Survivor Honor

Today I witnessed more than 6 people disconnect after being killed in PvP. All of them were kitted out with all the cool toys, but as usual lacked the skill to use them properly. My team, while on supply missions, encountered most of these players within a short 10 minute period of a hotspot in the North West. We were attempting to get some good gear for our own protection, and ended up getting into a firefight that ended up with one of our own dead, 1 confirmed enemy KIA, and 5 downed enemies who disconnected before death. Every single one of them was a bandit prior to our engagement. Each one of these players I henceforth despise, and to say I have no respect for them would be a gross understatement. On the flip side of the coin, I had another engagement today. This engagement was nothing that went in my favor by any means, yet I felt compelled to tell it. Coming back from a supply raid on Berezino to stock our teams patrol base with medical supplies, we drove our UAZ into its hide hole and dismounted. We began moving towards our tents to stash the gear away before we moved onto the mission all of us were really looking forward to going on. As we moved up to our tents, myself and one other team mate fell to the ground and saw the hourglass for a split second, before the "You are Dead" screen appeared. I sat in front of my computer shocked, thinking it was a glitch at first. I realized that it was no glitch, when I called out over teamspeak that I was dead, and one other replied back "same." Two others reported they were wounded, and calls of "grenade" started coming across the channel. I realized the nade landed so close to me, I wasnt able to even hear the explosion before I was dead. I backed out to the lobby and got ready to make my sprint off the coast, back to my team. I listened over teamspeak to the hunt now going on for whoever was in our base. Only one man had been spotted, and wounded by one of us. He had taken shelter in the very spot we had placed our tents, and was quickly surrounded and turned into pink mist by an M107 round. He had more than ample time to disconnect and knew he was surrounded, bleeding, in shock, and about to die. Yet he didn't, he stayed and faced the very loud and violent music, for his attempted theft, and the murder of me and one of my team mates. My team mates examined the body to get the name of the outsider, and when he was loaded back in game, I sent him a message on text chat. I told him that he had my respect, and he asked why? I told him that I respected him because he did not disconnect during PvP. His honest reply, was "Why would I?" Thank you so much for that! He admitted that he had stumbled across our camp, and was only looking for engine parts to fix up a car he had been working on for a while. He noticed we had some nice gear in our tents, but left it alone as he did not have a direct need for it. He was on his way out of our camp when we drove up in our car, and he had nowhere to run. He turned around to face us, and was on a slight incline above us. Nobody in my group had spotted him, as we were all excited to have pulled off a flawless hospital raid, and were about to be onto a much more fun mission. We weren't focused, and paid for it. He thought one of us had spotted him, and began to fight for his life. I understood immediately upon his explanation that his actions were in defense, and it was just an unfortunate set of events. Had we had the time to announce we were friendly, we would have allowed him into our camp (since he was already there), and traded with him. However due to the nature of survival in DayZ, there was no time for second guessing, and I can respect that he did what he did to try to escape with his life. There was no hard feelings, as my team secured our camp, and began preparing to move it to another location. The two of us who died were on our way back to the camp, and our gear was safe, except for one body had dissapeared along with all the gear on it. It was a minor setback, but overall we were only delayed by the confrontation, and used up a bit of the supplies we had just raided from the hospital. Once at our camp, the guy who killed me asked if it was OK for him to come recover his gear. Had this guy been any other typical player, I would have told him to go F himself, and would have setup security to smoke the guy if he showed up. However since he didn't touch a thing in our camp (and we confirmed by checking his body), I thought it was the right thing to do. He had respected my property, though he would have stolen an engine had I had one, I thought fair is fair. I told him to get on teamspeak, and he did, and we organized his entry to our camp. On the way we laughed and joked about the incident, brokered a trade for some gear, and extended an offer of alliance between his group and mine. He entered our camp, recovered his gear off of his body, and we exchanged items, saluted, and he was on his way without harm. We have as of yet to make any further contact with him, though he has been on the server with us for hours. He has a mission, and we have ours, no need for interaction as we operate in different areas. However we have shared steam information, and I will check on them just to assure we avoid conducting raids in the same area they are in. Its not out of fear that I desire to avoid him, however respect. The man was honorable and respectful to me and my group (despite the confrontation out of need for survival), and I feel no reason why I should want to go after him or his friends. He was just looking out for his teams survival and meant no harm, lives got lost over unfortunate timing, but we still have all our important gear. All is well in DayZ land. To the person in concern, keep fighting the good fight, I hope you find that group of snipers and give them a taste of their own medicine. I also found some engine parts tonight, that I would be willing to trade for some good gear. Hit me up and maybe we can work something out.

    US Hardcore 2?

It was having an issue launching earlier guys, we noticed it pretty quickly and restarted the entire server box. After the next patch we will look at turning 3 and 4 back on as well. the 1.5.7 patch was just spawning too much stuff for the box to handle all 4 servers.

Kicking of Players for Clan members

My fear is getting blamed for kicking/banning players for legit reasons, but those players make complaints against the server, claiming it was for "kicking for clan members" or something similar. I don't doubt the mod devs would give us the fair shake and let us defend ourselves for our action. However I dont feel i need to run fraps 24/7 in order to protect myself from shithead trolls.
  23. All I ever need to do is shut everything down, then restart HiveAtuh, then Hive, then the servers, and everything works fine, every time.
  24. If I'm correct and we are supposed to close down the servers, then the hive/hiveauth/monitor... then it would be best to utilize a program like this to auto exec the stop.bat file, and the monitor.bat file on the server at set time intervals.
