Hi I have thought of an idea to help friends/clan mates play together.... It involves a Map/GPS and radios (walkie talkies) See what you think:- Idea behind it:- In "real life", if your part of a group, 1 or more people would maybe go out hunting, town raiding etc away from the main group, and if the Main group wanted to help or know where they were they could use the radios and find out that they went to the big tower they found or the train station etc. How it works you can invite players to your group (this would need to be added to the game) Items people own------------------------------Result Map/GPS ----------------------------------------Nothing Radio----------------------------------------------You would show up as a dot on the other players ------------------------------------------------------maps (that also have a radio and in the group) Radio and map---------------------------------You can see where other players, with radios, ------------------------------------------------------are on the map.. ------------------------------------------------------BUT you can’t see where you are on the map. Also you could make it a bit inaccurate(upto alf a grid out or something) unless that player has a compass and that would help pin point a bit better and a GPS would be spot on. This just helps people who play together to meet up when they come online (emmm I mean wake up in the game and see his mates gone out hunting on his own) 2) another possible idea:- You could also maybe introduce some sort of way bandits could intercept their chatter on the radios and see them on their own maps (but without pressing the "TALK" button they dont show up on the map to the other players, so you could get stalking going on, trap setting (2 people talking and showing up on map and 20 people "runnning silent" hidden around the area). Maybe have clan channels (i.e 295 frequency) and everyone tunes in on that, so a bandit could find that on the clan forums or keep scanning the air waves in hope of finding other survivors etc. or police scanners?? (im not sure how these work as i have never had one but i believe they keep scanning till they find some chat going on??)

its fine as it is, i just needs to be less inventory intensive (as in stacks of bolts or a seperat bag for them) and the bolts should go into the dead persons inventory or something like that so you can re gain them. The crafting of ammos is intresting and i kind of like it, but then it would be to easy to get ammo??? maybe put a 10minute crafting time on each bolt??? of course you can stop if you see a zombie/survivor coming etc..

Bad example as blizzard did give diablo 3 free if you bought WOW 1 yr subscription ;) I see both side of this argument as i consider myself one of the players who "bought dayz" I heared about dayz from firends and i had to buy arma 2 to play it, i will never play arma 2 as its a terrible game and even though i like dayz the core engine of the game is shockingly bad (even though its an alpa i accept this, but it is the arma 2 parts that im talking about). So YES i did pay for dayz!!! Having said that, i know it was my choice and i am willing to pay for the stand alone as i realise how all this works and i think its fair enough with all the work thats been put into this "free" mod. Also dont forget they have said it is going to be a "cheap" game, its not going to be one of these annoying £40 games that just piss me off with the price, for 5-10hrs of game play

I agree and dont agree........ Its good to be able to collect stuff (im like a magpie, collect anything shinny), but yes you do need a penelty for dieing.......... So maybe your tent(s) die with you? Or i do like the skill level idea..... so its no good running to your tent to pick up your "new shinny" weapon if you cant use it (for example)..... get practising with it for a couple of days :)

Hi I see you are doing a lot of work on this mod (which is really good to see) and I have seen a few clips of ideas to come up, but I thought I would add my ideas to the mix, some of which may have been mentioned before. 1) GOT to have pickable spawn points or something so you can meet friends easy (or a pointer on the hud showing where friends are, requiring a group option). 2) Flash light and gun (2 hand locations, left and right), I think we really need to be able to see what we are shooting and fire at same time (like in real life), possible have 2 slots for hands so I can have pistol in 1 hand and light in the other...... or pistol and crowbar (for silent kills), or mad man like double pistols, etc. (but i do like the idea of keeping the "put away right hand weapon, taking out flare/cam light and throwing, then getting out right hand weapon again with ONE click of a button. Now there are a few extra points on this that I’ll throw in at same time:- Don’t know if this a bug or what but, AT CURRENT, I can’t seem to have a rifle and a pistol and switch to a torch? I should be able to put gun on back, and switch between the pistol and torch? I can if I replace the rifle with an axe and repeat…….. but I do not want to have to drop my rifle every time i want to see. 3) Water bottles- I think this should hold enough for 2-3 lots of drink. 4) damage meters (if not coming off their body then in txt at the bottom left corner), like if it hits in head say I have done 50 damage, body 20 dmg etc just so I can see what are best weapons to keep, because I have no idea if my revolver is better than the pistol I just found or the rifle I have etc…. **before people say it’s not realistic, if in the real life I shot someone in the arm I would see the difference between a small hole in the arm and the whole arm blown off!?! 5) ****EDITED: i have changed my mind on the following they dont need changing imo:- Cam lights and flares should do a bigger area of light, sometimes I have seen this happen (like fill a whole street with light) and other times a 30cm patch. 6) A separate window for your bag, it’s far too hard to navigate…... AND I don’t know if it’s because of a bug but I have lost far too much stuff moving it from my bag to my inventory etc…. a nice drag and drop action from 1 window to the next would be awesome and far easier to use....... I bet 100's of people have been shot while trying to look through there bags for stuff (I don't mean so you can quickly run around bandaging stupidly quick, I mean just to make the game more enjoyable, and easier to use) *another 7) doors that work... If you run in a building and close the door I think this should stop the zombies coming in, and they should defenetly not be able to walk through like a ghost.... (I'm sure your working on this but just in case ;-)) 8) when ammo is put into a gun it should be in the gun and not still in inventory, so it frees up a slot.......... and also maybe put ALL ammo types in the belt not just pistol ammo? 9) I would like to be able to open my bag and or loot in what ever potion im in..... at the moment if you are lay down because zombies/players are out side a window, and you open bag or loot you kneel so everyone can see you... 10) Change weapons while running, for example go from my crossbow to my pistol while running. 11) make crossbow BOLTS easier to pick up of the body you just killed (maybe make it go into inventory of dead body?) As i go along i will update any more ideas i have here, if thats ok :)

Also i think the first time i tried a new weapon on a zombie and blew his head off i think i would be saying "Boom did you see his head explode then... brains went everywhere!!! this weapon is Awesome (aka imba, as you put it)"

Im sorry to say but I think nights are to dark (most of the time) so I have to turn up gamma and brightness which kind of spoils the "scary/dark" aspect of the game but makes it playable... So I'm wondering is there anyway we can make it so u can't change these setting OR limit it a bit please.... ALSO:- flares and torch lights The reason I do this is because the flares and defenetly touches are "broken" in my mind (but this might get fix later on) -flares in my mind shouldn't attract 100 zombies to it, you should be able to go through a city throwing flares to light ur way "in peace"... BUT they should make you more visible (like daylight) so you have to crawl abou etc and then there is the obviase thing that SURVIVERS can see someone's in the town from miles away... That's where can lights would keep you safer but u have to chuck 1000 of them down for same effect.... -torches shouldn't be able to be seen from as far as they are AND defenetly not go through walls, in real life I would shin the touch through my fingers or put a sock over it or something like that to cut down the light going out..... And military torches are just as bad to be honest... But ya you should be able to go into a building and shine a torch in a corner quickly without everyone knowing your there at all

Sorry let me get this straight...... Your saying That flares prime function is NOT to light up an area?? Dude you got it backwards...... That's what they do, but that's not what they should do.... Like i said falafel should be more commonly used and shouldn't attract zombies but runs the risk af attracting bandits from miles away..... That way it makes night time play more viable.....

I have tried and you need about 100 of them to light up a city which is not only impractical to carry that many but also time consuming sitting there throwing things.... So it's just easier and safer to turn up the gamma which kind of spoils the "risk" :-( I would happily play in the dark (no gamma increase) with the changes I mentioned and it would be more risky than how I'm playing now but also more fun..... I think

Hmm I think we miss understand each other again.... If you throw a flare miles away from you, zombies start running/walking towards it (NOT you) What I would like is, for the zombies NOT to walk to the flare.... Just carry on normaly as it is not food....... but if you walk in the "light radias" then you start to show up as if it was day light, so you have to start crawling through the flare "area" to try and stay undetected.... And the closer you are to the middle the more visible you become......

Lol sorry about that yanky :-)... I don't think I have ever used that word, it's always torch :-) Anyway what I mean is the game should just assume I'm doing my best to hide it..... And I'm not stupid enough to light everything up... And default it darker

When I say peace I mean from zombies... Would a zombie really be attracted to a glowing light??? What are they flys? The flares would light you up so they can easy spot you if you go close (like day light) but shouldn't make 30 zombies come and look at it...

Sock is an example..... You could use a cut of curtain (which you could cut using broken glass or your knife) And I'm not sure why u can't use a sock.... 2 billion dead people who have 7+ pairs of socks each and you can't find a sock?? But if by some mericalr u cant find a sock..... like I said you can use your fingers and have it shinning from small cracks between ur fingers...

YES IT'S BUGGED!!!!! I put some on last night and lost my Alice back pack and all the stuff in it It gave me a Basic bag instead.... And tbh I'm not to impressed at how "camouflaged" it looks...... It has short sleeves? But I was playing in the dark soooo haven't seen it properly yet in the light. -
So how effective is the crossbow REALLY?

I like the crossbow because it makes me feel like I'm playing the game "properly"...... You should be killing zombies quietly :-)....... And it make me feel cool :-) But there is a down sides, and they are really big downsides 1) you will loose everytime in PVP even to a hatchet running from 50meters away... (unless they are under 5000 blood) 2) getting the ammo back from dead zombies etc is VERY bugged and I can go from 10 bolts to 1-2 in 1 town.. (I think it should go into the dead persons inventory.... Along with the empty can he was carrying lol) 3) the ammo taking up an inventory for each slot is just plan annoying and does need to be stacks of 2-3 4) reload is rediculously long (but realistic for real life) 5) put all this together and add a zombie attacking you at close range you have a fast moving zombie with "small" hit boxes, and if you miss it feels like a 2hr reload as he's munching in your face!!! -
Lol I get your point but it's a useless weapon in PVP (unless they are already near dead) and surely the 1 shot and huge reload time and limited range is the trade off? With out me having to always be low on food drinks and other important things?
