Isn't it so that ArmA2NET currently only works with the latest BETApatch though? (due to the "callextension" command) Correct me if I'm wrong. It sure seems like a more elegant solution though. -
If you call zombies intelligent, then you've clearly never encountered the regular ArmA2 AI. Zombies are actually scripted animals (as far as the game is concerned). So not really what I would call intelligent.

Hmm if you just want to battle another group to see who's better, then why don't you simply join an ArmA2 server with a PvP mission on it and duke it out there? Theres no need to include a deam-deathmatch feature in DayZ, because Teamdeathmatch is already in the game. With a bit of editing knowledge you can even make TDM maps that behave almost the same way as DayZ does in terms of playerdamage.

It's a mystery to me why those PMC models where used in the first place. But yeah, that is correct. Without the DLC, you still get all the units and weapons from that DLC, but only in a "light" version with lousy textures.

Personally I care little if that guy sitting near a hospital with a CZ has a bandit skin or not... his intentions are obvious. I also care little if I get a bandit skin for shooting those campers. Either way, they get what they deserve.

There is also an open source program called "freetrack" available, for wich you need as little as a webcam, some LEDs and a tiny bit of technical knowledge (they have tutorials). I assume its probably a bit more accurate and faster than this variant. I use it sometimes, works like a charm. -

From my experience, backpacks last longer than items that are dropped directly on the ground and as long as someone is nearby, it wont disappear. -
I believe it can be fixed, I've even made a script for it once. I'll have to test it again to see how effective it still is, but I'm rather positive that it should work. The fix is based on a "AnimChanged" Eventhandler that checks for the animation that is played when you exit a ladder.

Good thing that a clear statment about this has been made now. *thumbs up* Beeing allowed to host a server is not only a service to the community, it is also a privilege that not everyone gets. I think server owners would do well to keep that in mind.

Hmm, another option would be to make every night a night with no moon. When the night is really as dark as possible in the game, then gamma doesn't help. Had this a couple of times already.

Should I tell the story of 3 survivors with assaultrifles who immediatly disconnected after beeing shot at by a single bandit ? Kudos to everyone of you who actually puts up a fight. -
Just saying... you can already play dead in ArmA. I've used it in some pvp scenarios, though not in DayZ yet. Lie down on the ground, press G to drop your weapon and look down. It's not exactly the same thing but it can still be enough to decieve players. Hiding among other dead bodies also helps.

Think again ;) The basics are rather simple really, but you're gonna have to figure it out on your own. The forums are not a good place for such knowledge. :sleepy: Anyway, why would you want to be stuck inside those barracks when defending them? That sounds like a terrible idea. Better take up some decent defensive positions around it. Thats how I did it with 5 of my pals, and we could hold it pretty well without loosing a single man. -
Well... 1. This is currently a mod, not a full blown game 2. It's alpha 3. This specific thing is not related to the mod, it's a flaw in the ArmA engine or more precisely, in the way how some of those buldings are made. (Fights in buildings are not really the main focus of the engine) Better get used to it for now, lets see what ArmA3 brings.

Oh those neverending discussions about weapons. Like it or not but there are no really huge differences. It all comes down to how you use em and personal preference. I recently dropped my M4A3 (which some seem to consider to be uberleet) just to get my trusty old AKM again. Complaining about western weaponry in these parts only means that you obviously haven't played any of the ArmA2 campaign and that you somehow manage to overlook all those dead us-soldiers and hmmwv-wreckages around.
