It might be good to remove the blur and instead realize it in a different way. Perhaps by changing the aperture or with an screen-overlay. Why? Simply because that blur effect is nonexistant when someone disables postprocessing.

It's tied to your game-id which depends on the cdkey. Theres currently not much you can do about it.

Aye, thought so. I seems very optimized and yet the spawning/despawning is barely noticable. Having worked on a similar script for a domination-like arma-map, I think you did an quite impressive job with that. :exclamation:

The total number of zombies depends largely on where the players are and how much they're spread out. I theory you'd get the maximum total number of zombies If every single player on the server is within the spawn-radius of a different city/village. Not sure if theres also a maximum number, I guess there is. I've seen numbers much higher than 460 though.

Since it's not mentioned here: You can often find painkillers on deerstands.

Ofcourse, but thats not the point. You dont need 7 units of food/drink in 70 minutes of continuous gameplay. (except for regaining blood, but thats a different matter). The person logging in after a day only to play for 10 minutes however, (might) needs that food every time. So if they both essential have the same playtime, why would one need more food than the other just because he distributed his playtime over a longer period? So hard to understand? -

Yup, was about to say that. A slow refiring rate, as well as an additional animation triggered after each shot should do the trick. There's a different problem however, as far as I remember, the ArmA2 scripting engine does not sport a command to set the number of bullets(bolts) in a magazine. All in all, this whole thing is certainly possible but it might end up getting more complicated than expected. If I have time this weekend, maybe I'll try to put something together as a proof on concept.

It has been mentioned somewhere that the alive-times are a bit off. Aside from that it should be pretty obvious where it gets it's data from. -

I'd love the ACE system for this. I'm sure it would recieve alot of hate, but it would be awesome to see some overloaded players run by and fall on their nose. ^^ A basic fatigue system is there. Its not based on weight and it may not stop you from running but it will affect your accuracy. I always rest my character before going into a dangerzone. (risk of hostile players)

I don't get why a game like this would need some boring artificial achievements. *yay* Really, you can easily set your own goals and pat yourself on the shoulder when you achieve them. Why would you have to find a hospital if you're not wounded... and if you are... actually finding the required healing is reward enough. Actual sidemissions that make sense are a different thing though.

Interesting idea and fairly simple (those are generally the best ideas), surprises me that I've not seen anything like that before. To optimize things further, I guess it should even be possible to spawn those underground structures on demand. However, that might lead to some other problems, and would have to be tested.

Lets say (extreme example) someone plays DayZ for only 10 minutes each day (yeah I know, its exaggerated). Due to this mechanic, every day when he logs in, he'll need food and drink. After a week of this (a total playtime of 70minutes, barely more than an hour) he would've used up 7 units of water and 7 units of food. A player who continuously plays for 70 minutes would probably be fine with just 1-2 units of food and water. -
GPS is for people who don't know how to use a map.

You know... PKs can coop aswell. So this isn't really in any way related to PvP. I wouldn't mind making the game a bit harder though, but not really by making the blood-regeneration harder (this would lead to more people getting killed while scavenging for bloodbags). Rather by making food harder to come by.

Characters should login in exactly the same state as when they logged out. Everything else is rather pointless. -
Yeh thought so too when I heard about the numbers. Too bad I allready know the location of every single deerstand on cherna. ;) Anyway... pretty cool idea to add something like this. Now shush and leave my deerstands alone ! :P

So far it wasn't much of a problem to be, but yeah getting hungry and dehydrated while not playing doesn't really make sense and is somewhat unfair to those who only play for short periods a day.
