If it was indeed a hacker then I certainly wouldn't blame them for d/c'ing. Granted they had no evidence that these people were hackers versus people who had just snuck up/camped out behind them. But given the "heat of the moment" decision and their previous encounter, I probably would have thought the same thing too.

If you stay in pretty much any of those areas then you're not a sniper. You're just a maniac with a long range rifle.

Half of my kills with my DMR have been headshots which means instant kill. The others have never disconnected on me. The only person I've had d/c on me in a fight was some guy trying to sneak up on me with an axe until I started blasting him with an AKIM. DMR has a good range too, if you know how to use it. I've gotten those headshots anywhere from 460m to about 680m (mostly because that's just where I see people). Though I'm sure the AS50 is an absolute beast, I do enjoy some challenge when sniping. If I can't get a headshot on them then I probably don't deserve the kill anyway.

I've actually been on servers where everyone else logged out and I was the only one left online. Much raiding was done, including the NWAF :lol:

Might just be your server. I've seen three people in Stary just last night, and it was on a nighttime server. Granted I shot two of them :rolleyes:

I found both a bus and a Ural while playing as well. But since I always play solo, cars are usually more dangerous than anything else. Lots of noise, lots of attention, and I really can't watch them when I park. I prefer to just walk and use tents. Good luck with finding and actually repairing your first one though!

I prefer different times based on what I'm doing. If I'm traveling or looting places then I prefer night time servers due to the general low population and the fact that zombies can't see you as well. But when I look for someone to shoot, like at NW or Stary, I usually like daytime simply because they have more people online and thus I'm not sitting on my ass for two hours waiting for someone to wander into the area. Though I did happen to find a server with 25+ players on it that was at night time, last night. DMR + NVG + High pop. night time server = Awesomeness

Honestly I like the DMR for the exact same reasons you listed. I've never had the pleasure of using an AS50 but it just sounds way too easy. I prefer at least a moderate challenge. Plus, since you can't zero it in, it makes for an interesting challenge to try and predict the path of the bullet moreso than other guns who just require you to push a button to change the range on them. And I currently have 100 rounds of ammo for my DMR just on my person alone. I fucking love common magazines with 20 rounds each <3 Not that I'll ever use that many, only fired it twice since I got the latest one. Two headshots.

So you're saying it isn't a survival game because you have to try and survive players killing you? I'm pretty sure even Rocket himself said that players are meant to be the biggest threat. Once you get used to the zombies and good at getting around them, they become more of a minor annoyance than anything else. But it's the fear of being shot, even in the middle of the woods, that really adds the tension to the game.

I'm a dude and I play as one. Can't say I'd ever try to play as a girl simply because they can't use camo or ghillie right now anyway. Which really sticks for the women out there who do want to play as their own gender, sadly.

That's not very impressive. I want to see the option to shove the flashlight up your ass too.

As a programmer I have to admit: -Adding new features, like dogs, is a lot of fun. -Having to lock everything down to prevent morons with scripts is not fun. That being said, as a player, I couldn't care less if dogs were introduced. Just gives me something else to shoot.

There's multiple different rumors out there right now, some of them mostly true too. Such as the "ghost gunner" or the.. "man" who sings with a little girls voice and hunts you with an axe, even across multiple servers. And some things...... some things are just too horrible to speak of.

Just so you know, I wouldn't go in the back room of that particular market until it airs out. I really had to go, what can I say?

Nope, PVP action is just part of DayZ. After awhile you'll learn that the zombies are only a minor threat compared to the players, that's what will really put you on the edge of your seat. Even in the middle of the woods you're not safe.

Honestly, most people never find anything when they go there. That's partially why people like me keep going on about it, because it's funny. But sometimes strange things DO happen there. Usually because of a hacker or just other players knowing about the place and deliberately setting things up. Who knows though, maybe there really is something more sinister about that place though.... ;)

So you tell people that you have lots of great loot, tell them your location, then wonder why you get shot? You may want to see a doctor about that.
