Non Firearms you would like to see in game
grindstone50k replied to Jex's topic in General Discussion
Couldn't tell you, but I have found a couple PRISTINE kitchen knives for once. Finally harvesting over 80% meat now. -
Non Firearms you would like to see in game
grindstone50k replied to Jex's topic in General Discussion
Folding utility knives to be used for utility tasks like cleaning and skinning animals and opening beans with less spillage, yet fold to take up only one slot. Maybe require a knife or edge of some sort when crafting with rope and such. Actual sharpening stones to take worn knives, or even damaged knives to pristine. The knife is almost essential to true survival, I would like to see it's importance enhanced in the game. -
Hence, my post.

Is This A Mechanic Or A Bug? Bone Condition Death...

Alpha gonna alpha. -
Unless having it in your hands does not look the same as holding any other pistol in your hands, I don't see much use for it.

Is This A Mechanic Or A Bug? Bone Condition Death...

Considering the game is not finished and the medical system is constantly being changed, I withhold judgement. But the data is useful for modifying current gameplay behavior. -
the bow is terrible at anything longer than melee range
grindstone50k replied to Hi Im Brad's topic in General Discussion
I couldn't hit a docile boar at 15 yards with three or four shots. A hip-fired rifle brought it down. Bows are more accurate than people give them credit for. First time ever handling one in gym class I was sending arrows into the red 6" bullseye at 50 yards. But I'm sure it'll be balanced. All the other weapons have gone through some minor initial balancing even now. We'll see how it is after full release. -
Never had a problem with any of those. Only the occasional upper story floor would eat me. But it's been months.

I have found MP5s, and I have found MP5 mags. But whenever I combine the two, I die a short time later. Either by players or by bugs. I now keep a list of inert things that get me killed. Usually rare items. @OP, you probably shouldn't put sights meant for an M4 on an MP5k.

If proper implementation of a pump shotgun including rapid ammo changes (and re-introduction of slug rounds), I would carry only that. As for the Blaze, that is my go-to long rifle when I don't want a sniper set up. It's handy for somewhat close range shots including a fast follow-up. The round is usually a one-hit take-down if not kill. It's accurate out to usable ranges. And it's viewed as somewhat less threatening than an LRS-equipped Mosin.

Multiple Characters in 1st Person/Hardcore
grindstone50k replied to wud's topic in General Discussion
Probably has to do with the server and it's connection to the hive. I've noticed some "brands" of servers are worse at connecting to the hive than others. -
Dying of hunger wayyyyy too often
grindstone50k replied to MIKEMONSTER's topic in General Discussion
Since coastal spawns are back, so again the rule of leaving the coast ASAP and heading inland is a rule of thumb again. Also, this isn't a sim. Lastly, balancing will be focused on later, usually done in Beta stage. If you're having that much trouble with the game, it might be wise to leave it for a while and come back when it's closer to completion or handicap yourself to an "easier level" by joining low population servers. -

You didn't watch the video, did you?

So the team is trained, am I right?
grindstone50k replied to Good Greef's topic in General Discussion
Agreed. Stuck at work doing basically nothing, so these delicious tears are a much-needed pick-me-up. -

Then go outside? It's not hard to "fool" the zombie AI. Pull them back into the room, run around them, profit. Not rocket science. So, the game not being close to finished is no reason for the game to be crap. Thanks for clearing that up. -

grindstone50k replied to Good Greef's topic in General Discussion
Yep, takes "uber skills" to walk in a circle-strafe. -
I think you're over-thinking a video game.

Your name perfectly captures my reaction to your little rant. Welcome to early development. Enjoy the ride. -
Was afraid to play since hearing about cold problems but then...
grindstone50k replied to huf757's topic in General Discussion
To be honest, I was just repeating what I had been taught in SERE training. In my somewhat limited outdoors experience since then I have found wool to be far superior to insulation than most other common fabrics. -

grindstone50k replied to huf757's topic in General Discussion
That's kind of disappointing. Wool keeps you insulated even if it's wet. It's highly valued by the military and outdoor enthusests. -
0.49 crashsites (& a few observations)
grindstone50k replied to Davidiusz's topic in General Discussion
The possible helo sites cover half the map. Ciricling around one hill and not finding any does not mean crash sites are bugged. -
Dying of hunger wayyyyy too often
grindstone50k replied to MIKEMONSTER's topic in General Discussion
It's called "being bad at the game". People whining about dying, about how "hard" the zombies are, KOS, etc. I know it's hurts and it's not very nice, but the bottom line is that people are just bad players. -
A look at one of the new zombie models
grindstone50k replied to haknslash's topic in General Discussion
How about you start a new topic discussing child zombies somewhere else? Now for an actually on-topic post: Nice to see a zombie model that's very different from the originals. I do tire of getting ganged up on by the same three hookers.
