[NAMALSK] Our bandit group got hit pretty bad after a clan and some other people assaulted us with.. helicopters? That's right. I counted in total five helicopters. We were stationed ontop of a garage building in a custom city on the server we play after a firefight, when we suddenly see a helicopter in the distance. More came and they were of different groups. They tried to kamikaze us twice and parachute down but we took them down as they got onto the ground, when suddenly one of them did it again and didn't miss this time. His little bird exploded however we managed to get away quickly. We came back and then our helicopter exploded and we all died. We had managed to move back to the custom city and get some of our stuff back. We moved over to object A2 and I being the sniper provided sniper overwatch as they moved in. The assault team cleared out the bunker with a frag, and stormed inside. They had killed someone with the grenade and the victim's friends had moved down deeper into the bunker, holding up. After a chaotic firefight three of us were killed, and we managed to take them down. They had great cover inside one of the rooms in the bunker, having great advantage over us. My job as the sniper was also to pick dead people up, so I picked up the dead friends -and dropped them off. My last destination was in Old Sawmill. I made my way over there, and went on the Tara Bridge... biggest mistake of my life. I think you know what happend. (For those that haven't played Namalsk: Tara Bridge is bugged, and it launches you high into the air and you die)

This is what makes DayZ what it is, the moments you get in this game overcome any of the bugs.

I get knocked out so much it ain't even funny, but atleast it's a lil bit more challenging. Haven't died yet due to the zombies and got 5 murders since the patch.

Well, yes you are correct, however to be a good bandit you need to be good at PvP as most attempts to hold people up will end up in a shootout - nowadays bandits are also just plain murderers, which is something that I despise. I tried being a friendly when I just started playing this game and people just killed me on sight. So since then I've been a bandit, and I've had to adapt my play style to how other bandits play now. If I see someone and he does not see me I let him go, however if he is in a city that I have an interest in looting, I will take him down. If he sees me then I take him down immediately. If he might oppose a threat to me and my squad, I'll take him down aswell. Me and my squad also focus on taking down other bandit groups mostly. I'll put some more tips later on, and thanks Stevelord.

I'll go more into this later on, but a few very brief tips; stealth is very important. Research some guerilla tactics, what you need to do is use the environment against the enemy. You need to be very patient aswell. Impatience gets you killed in this game, do not be the first one to make the move - if your enemy knows where you are and yo know where he is and you're both in hiding - wait for him to get out and you'll get the shot on him easily. People get impatient and that's how they die. Never pointlessly shoot for fun or shoot zombies without an sD weapon unless it is really necessary, as it will reveal your position especially if you have a loud weapon. While moving even though you think you are safe, still look around as ywhen you think you are safe your guard is down and you are the most vulnerable. Do not trust anyone, under any circumstance, unless you want to take the risk of getting killed - a bandit is someone you don't trust at all.. but then, I've met friendly bandits that were indeed bandits and killed people regularly. Do not enter cities without scoping them out. If there are zombies in a town and you are far away from it then that means someone was there and spawned the zombies there. As you are a bandit you will kill many people, do not run to their body straight away to get your new sweet loot, they might have friends camping their body protecting it.. or someone might run to loot him and you can kill him aswell. Scout the area out and make sure that no-one is surely there before moving. Have an escape route or a plan of what to do if things go south. Don't shoot at people moving if you are sniping, wait for them to start looting something - or just stop moving to say, shoot a few zombies.. If you miss your shot, do not panic and run - immediately take a few more if you do not hit. Many players will prone and try to see where the shots are comign from. Sometimes they might take cover behind something but their back will be turned behind you and really they're just making themselves exposed. Do not panic AT ALL, remain calm and you will win. Do not rush or do stupid stuff. Sniping does not necessarily require a sniper as it can be done with weapons that have scopes that allow long range shooting. I'll add more later.

I love me DMR and my G36A camo. The G36A is just boss and it's scope allows you to take people out from distances and it's powerful.

I haven't encountered a single player except my friends and some guy that was shooting at me from buttfuck no-where. Guess I just have no luck. Or luck? Depends on how you play, I wanna have some PVP now..

Your backpack is still there and can be accessible but it can't be seen on your back. Same when you're wearing a ghillie suit.

There are advantages of playing solo. You do whatever the hell you want, it's harder too, and there's just this one thing.. that 'magic' of DayZ you were talking about. I don't know, but I preffer playing solo even though I play with friends too.

Some of the "thousands legit players" probably have been hackers, but some were actual legit players. A friend of mine who I know wouldn't hack for sure got banned. He got a response from Battleye pretty quick, saying something that didn't make much sense, like try to stop running all engines and something - can't remember.

After you climb a ladder, it automatically lowers your gun. Annoying, I know.

If what Killroth said is true then that might of been it plus the fact that you might of been missing or the guy might of have had hacks.

You know if someone gets banned it doesn't always mean the person did hack? You guys are like Battleye is the best anticheat engine and it detects every hacker. Yeah, totally.. not. A friend of mine got banned and I can confirm that he did not hack at all, but got global banned.

Nice story, glad you finally found a server without hackers - I haven't yet encountered one, guess I'm just lucky.

People like you are ruining this game, giving such tips to new players, lol.. You're not gonna get flamed for shoot on sight, you are going to get flamed for telling people to go on empty servers to loot and server hopping.. Are you even serious? On topic, it's easy, just read "A Beginner's Guide" on the wiki, I did that, and use the dayzdb map (if needed) on my first day and got along pretty well.

I have yet to see a hacker and a bug. Yeah, I'm new to the game but I have been playing for 3 days now and I have not encountered a single bug except the one that when you disconnect your mags become full again.

They don't indeed which is why my dad lets me use his credit card while I give him the money back for the games I buy. Age verification isn't a law, I don't think, I was let buy a few 16+ games on my own but most of the time I was asked for consent of my parent so I had to get my dad to tag along. The age restriction isn't that strict here in the UK, I don't know how it is in the US. What's even worse is kids from foreign countries, I am one but I'm not an annoying one.. When I try to change my avatar, I click on import and nothing happens. I can't click on my name in the top right c orner either, and some other buttons. Is this happening just to me? @edit In fact, nearly NO buttons work. Quote doesnt work so I have to use bbcode and do it manually, post in quick reply doesn't work.. what is this sorcery
