Also getting this when looking at Berezino from the SW. Also in an unrelated, unpopulated forest area that just happened to have some barbed wire. Glad it is being looked into, since it basically put the kabosh on a Supermarket run for my group last night.

[Video] Highway to hell - Fun with a bus
Dirtylimey replied to Dirtylimey's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
Thanks :) Need to find some more vehicles. Adds so much more to the game once you find one. -
Just a montage set to highway to hell of our first experiences with a bus. :)

This? :P

Would be helpful, seems like an Arma II limitation though...

Jump off of a high barn and live, go prone on a stairwell and instant leg break and bleed to death. Gravity is fickle in the DayZ universe.

Is this always the case? I have tried to test with friends and none of us could see one anothers map notes... I have also noticed when I have seen map notes from other people, I can delete them. Not sure if maybe exiting the server saves your notes at that point or what.

Chances of Finding a Vehicle Spawn?
Dirtylimey replied to puppetworx's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In a couple of weeks of playing on various servers, not once did I ever see a vehicle at its spawn. In fact, I saw maybe two vehicles in total. One driving through berezino at night, the other, a busted military truck that dissapeared from the server the next day. Then all of a sudden, joined a server the other night and found most vehicles at their spawns. So, now we have a UAZ and a Bus and have spotted boats (too slow) and a tractor. I guess you just have to be lucky and playing on the right server to find anything... -
I dont know about that... A battery is a consumable, like gas... Kind of different to a head gasket or piston rings and what not.
-
That would actually be cool, maybe harder to implement? Would make for some memorable escapes though :P Unreliable engine starts would also add to the brown trouser factor...
-
It seems kind of strange to me that all of the vehicles you find in a post apocalyptic world would have fuel tank/engine problems/missing wheels, but would all have fully charged batteries? Car battery would be good as an extra item you need to get any vehicle running. Maybe add jumper cables too to allow other running vehicles to charge a battery?

My god, I would LOVE this feature, for one reason and one reason only. One of the people I play with has a serious problem with accidental firing his weapon and it usually panics us all and makes us have to relocate, fast. Cooking Meat ... *BANG* SORRY! SORRY! Filling up water ... *BANG* My Bad! Sorry! Looting hospital ... *BANG* etc We would give him a hatchet, but he has a habit of flailing it around in combat and knocking people out :/ Safety selector would be great. But just for him.

Stay out of town until you can find a hatchet from a barn or a shack. As of the current patch, if you are not running and are not in front of a zombie, he probably will not see you. As others have said elsewhere though, run into a building with two entrances (like a barn). Go in one side, wait for the zombie to enter and go into walk mode, then run out the other door. Get yourself a hatchet though and you can kill any agroes :P

So if you don't happen to have a G17, M4 or Remington with flashlight, you can always pick up a chemstick. Sticks to you and provides a light source and you can still use whatever weapon you have equipped. Though chemsticks AND flashlights at night on a populated server is kind of a gimme for bandits...

I'm sure quite a number of you have been teleported by hackers before, to a central location where everyone proceed to shoot eachother, or more sensibly, Alt+F4... right?? Happens to me all of the time. The other night this happened to some friends and I and we ended up getting teleported to the roof of the barn at Stary Sobor. Naturally, we wanted to get down safely and tested a couple of methods to do so in the video below. Perhaps someone has a better method, but here is how we handled it :P
