There is NOTHING at Green Mountain. Nothing. No good loot, nothing worth while. There is a mass grave of NPC sprites, and a dozen zombies. Nothing extraordinary.

I think someone should contact the media next time there is a mass shooting. There seems to be many of these confessional threads of time bombs just waiting to open fire...

I know what you mean about how awesome it is to survive an insane zombie onslaught... My buddy aggro'd about 12 and we booked it into a nearby barn. We figured we could take them out as they came single file into the barn, what we weren't expecting was the 50-60 more zombies to flood every door and window of that barn, 8 clips later, between the two of us, and a floor full of corpses, we ran to the hills

The way they can spot me from sniper-distance, I'd be inclined to agree

I thought this game was DayZ, not DayI... These are supposed to be Zombies, not "infected" superhumans.

For the record, across the map is when the zed is about a half inch on my screen. In other words, barely within my visible spectrum. I find it difficult to believe that a zombie with rotted out eyes has 20/20 night vision. Hearing, I can beileve. Sight, not so much.

There's a serious issue with random aggro. I've proned my way through a city, only to have a zed rage at random from half way across the map (I thought another player ran past it, but nope it just roid raged) and ran in a semi-circle around me, then directly at me. The entire time I was prone, the entire time I did not move. I don't play COD at all, can't stand the game and even I know BS when I see it.

The worst is when you're at full health and a zed barely scrapes you as your running away from it, only to find out it took out over 1k in blood and you're bleeding half to death. Meanwhile, you can sit there and whack them with a hatchet and get smacked 2-3 times and not bleed from that.

Not everyone has a military grade silenced rifle. Anything less seems to attract every god damned zombie that's been generated on the map, at least on the server I play on.

Gotta say on both points here... Point 1: I was swarmed inside of a barn with at least 50 zombies pouring in ALL entrances. They did not stop, walk around aimlessly or leave. They were tracked on me and my friend and lumbered towards us endlessly. Point B: After we made a break for the forest, we had about 12 zombies chasing both of us, after 10 minutes of straight running around trees and through bush, we had 2 zombies pacing us. 10 more minutes of that, they were STILL following us. It took 4 bullets to stop that.

I was scavenging with my friend the other day when we came across a town with two barns, so we were making our way through, when a zed Aggro'd from a football field away. My buddy headshots him with his AKM, and stirs up about a dozen zombies. So we start booking it towards the barn so we can get out of there, when we get FLOODED with zombies and no choice other than taking them out. Every entrance to the barn was filled with zombies and they kept coming for a solid 5 minutes. By the end of it, we both had wasted nearly 3 clips of ammo each, leaving about 50 corpses on the barn floor. We then took off from the barn and saw the town was STILL littered with zeds. I thought they were only supposed to spawn when characters came nearby?

I wouldn't have been so upset if we could have just ditched the horde in the barn, but the fact that EVERY OPEN ORAFACE of that barn was jammed with zombies, I had literally never seen anything like that before. Every gunshot attracted every zombie that freshly spawned, ad naseum.

QFT, Me and my buddy were marathon running away from two of these insane zombies. I was watching as my friend would get 50 yds between him and the zed, only for the zed to make it right back up to him in the matter of 2 seconds. It took us going deep into the woods and me headshotting (twice) each zombie. I don't know what this latest update did, but I'm sticking to looting deerstands and staying the f*ck away from towns and cities now.

The only thing I find VERY annoying (and I can't find out how to fix it) is the fact that if I have a gun or a sidearm, I CAN'T EQUIP MY HATCHET. I'd be happy to just hack the crap out of the zombies, and conserve ammo, but I'm being forced to shoot them or drop my gun, equip my hatchet all while being brutally beaten senseless.

Yeah, zombies can't see you. BUT they still aggro and seek/destroy you if you make more than 1 bar of noise. This game has made me rage because of this. I've turned the gamma all the way up, so I could see blobs and movement, and there were no zombies around (I was on the coast, away from any cities) when I started to crouch-jog, and low and behold a zed flies out of nowhere and freaks on me. I figure, no problem I"ll just sneak away quietly and he will lose me, right? Nope. He manages to find me even while I'm prone and stationary behind a tree after booking it out of his LoS. I don't mind most stuff in this game, but this aggro issue has to be the worst I've come across.

One does not simply "walk" into a bandit clan camp.

For too long, my worry is not zombies within major cities, but snipers counter snipers goats who's only joy in the game is killing people snipers counter snipers. Often they won't go for their loot which demonstrates how they only want to kill humans snipers counter snipers for the fun of it - despite what many of them lose in gear. So I'm issuing a warning... wherever I am, in any server the snipers counter snipers goats in Cherno will be brought to justice. I will wait, and wait, and wait, and wait in darkness (or a gillie suit) and pursue you. I can't do it alone, but I hope to kill enough so they stop - at least on that server. If there are none, I will move server, and find you. If I kill you from long distance: again, I will wait. I will wait until you foolishly try to regain your gear and BANG you're dead again. When I reach the top of the roof and skilfully crawl up behind you, make no mistake about it - I WILL say in direct communication "Stick this up your arse you little prick!" before I blow your brains out. Snipers Counter snipers Goats, I'm coming for you.

I'll never believe anyone who uses that line, I mean unless you're 6 years old, this game isn't scary at all.

I've been playing this for over a week now, and I've got to say it was hellish for the first few days. It took my friend and I nearly a week to finally meet up on the map, and I've gotta say it was the biggest sense of accomplishment I've experienced so far in this game. I've learned to stay the hell away from firestations and big cities... I've learned that gunshots attract a crap-ton of zombies... I've also learned that helicopters are deadly. What's your biggest payoff in DayZ? On a side note, for those who may not have tried this yet: Don't try to pick off zombies on the outskirts of a town/city, I believe they have fixed the hearing and agro, cause we had about 12 Zeds bearing down on us before we decided to take to the hills. Happy hunting folks.

It's probably a good thing you haven't seen one. Getting a vehicle makes you a very large target, especially considering Hueys are back

Yeah, we found that out pretty quick. My buddy was popping off a couple rounds from his rifle and four zeds rushed us haha... Good times

If you disable 3rd party comms, people will just use comms outside of the computer. Case in point: My buddy and I were taking over cell phones, cause we didn't have headsets right away.
