Gasmask. Definitely, without even attempting to see if you were friendly.

G Damnit, I just listed to that whole Paula Abdul song -
Enoyed your vid. I'm looking forward to the game coming around again to not just be all KoS all the time. I'm sure where the survival becomes a moderate challenge we will see heroes rise again. My friends and and I have been shading more toward banditry when I was one who always had hero skin in the mod. Mainly because there isn't much else to do, and want to get my skills up with a gun. Free Advice: I'd have shot you too if I saw you running the city with a gas mask on. Masks pretty much mean bandits to me and my friends.

My backpack: full of tuna. Can openers are for neanderthals. In fact, I've been thinking of some good slogans to help market tuna in Chernarus. тунец - Civilized Food for Civilized People Refined tastes prefer тунец!

Dayz Anti-Game philosophy, is this still relevant and true?
Ramblin Hans replied to ProGamerGov's topic in General Discussion
To me games like this shine because they highlight the one core feature that makes us human: free will. This freedom and choice allows REAL good guys and bad guys to emerge, not just arbitrarily determined and enforced "teams". The problem DayZ faces, in my opinion, is that the server system allows for too much anonymity to effectively leverage this, and people just spree kill (or be a battlefield hero) and disappear anonymously. A system where you character is locked to a server(s) and somewhat identifiable so he can build a reputation would allow emergent, player created factions and events. Rivalries, hatreds, friendships, and shared server history begin to build the thing this games lacks - true community. In most multiplayer games from Call of Duty to Warcraft, you are put on rails and forced into a role. You will be on this side, no friendly fire, and you will go after objective x or lose. You are in a big safe zone, feel free to trade, and when you choose to magically warp to a balanced player vs. player battle. You pretend to be a hero of your side, and can enjoy it from an rp perspective, but you really had no choice in the matter. The guy you fought next to the whole game who was complaining and being a complete dbag? You really had no choice but to fight alongside him, he was on your team - and this team was structured and enforced by the game rules and mechanics. Games like this tear out the walls and allow people to be who they want (or fantasize about, or whatever). And in response, you are free to respond accordingly without very many limitations. Take orlok's reference to a guy sniping new spawns. Against the rules? No. But this action could create an enemy for you a rival. Or, perhaps, a potential ally if you are are looking for a serial killer mentor :) Without evil, there can be no good. -
Most scenic spot in Chernarus plus?

I found a guy on top of the rocks outside Kamyshovo, just sitting out and looking at the sunrise, with country music jammin' out his broadcast. I brought him some water, but couldn't scavenge any beer. -

While I don't totally agree with your post you do make some good points, and I do suddenly want to listen to "Jump Into The Fire" by Nilsson. -
do backpacks spawn anywhere in electro?
Ramblin Hans replied to bioned's topic in General Discussion
There's always one at the top of the firehouse. Climb up the ladder outside for free backpack, probably an M4 too. -

Is it better to travel with your gun in your hands or on your back?
Ramblin Hans replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Obviously, for travel its slung over my back and I'm running. But it town, its out almost always and usually shouldered. I find I run into more "friendlies" this way. People are always more friendly when you see them first and when they see you they realize you are already aiming on them. Too many times been shot/killed by trying to interact with someone while my gun was up. -

Battleye Client: Update successfully completed. Restarting...
Ramblin Hans posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Ok, so I found a few other threads with people whose Battleye client failed to initialize and how to fix, but couldn't find any with the exact problem I am having. My Battleye client is succesfully initializing..over and over and over. Every few minutes I get Battleye Client: Update successfully completed. Restarting.. Battleye Client: Initialized (v1.206) I just keeps repeating. I have tried several servers, and I can play and do not get kicked off. I think I may be getting a performance hit every time this happens, because I also sometimes get infrequent FPS slow downs, but this is anecdotal and I'm not sure its related. I am pretty sure it started the same day the patch went stable, but not sure exactly. It has been happening for several days now, but did not every happen before that. It isn't keeping me from participating in the Alpha, but I'd like to get it resolved. -

This seems to have fixed it! I didn't have to reinstall. Thank you very much for responding here. -
Stuffed status is bugged. Since the latest patches if you get the stuffed status indicator, it doesn't ever seem to go away. But its jsut the status indicator, your stomach does actually empty out. When you next get hungry/thristy, you will be able to dring fine without getting stuffed messages in the chat again. Its just the new status indicators in the character screen. You can totally eat and drink (at proper rates) and get healthy/healing/energized/hydrated without exploding your stomach. Also, you vomit it seems before you actually reach the "too full" point. But that's besides the point.

Reading through this threads responses, I have come to the conclusion there should be an IQ test to get into the alpha.
