    The Mosin Problem

Oh damn, if I could put a scope, even a PU scope on the Blaze 95, I'd totally use that in Dayz. Sorry for the interruption, continue!

after death run back to storage ?

True enough! I never played a private hive in the mod, but I think I'd like to when it is available in SA. I'd like to know that guy that logged out in a building after taking fire...he isn't going anywhere else. He can either come back later on or go play another hive, but his character isn't hopping around servers to get a position advantage, to regear, to get gear out of a stash.

    My dayZ experience so far

Servers named that are traps. There are no safe zones or rules, so you need to be ready to return fire on any server at any time. I basically suspect they are titled that way to get people to run around carelessly and be killed easier. Plus they probably feel that little immature giggle joy of "lolz I trolled himz".

Is this seriously the whole game?

The irony is that is exactly what makes this game fun.

Is this seriously the whole game?

Thank you for your $30 donation. Sorry it turns out you didn't like it. Those of us who love it and look forward to it being completed thank you!

after death run back to storage ?

Anything that ties characters to a server, will help build community on the server, and thus be good.

First discount of DayZ standalone on steam

Really? Awesome, I'm travelling and pray its still on sale when I return, been waiting.

    DayZ SA Security Leak.

I'd be more worried about someone hosting a box with what they have taken somehow. If one somehow accidentally joined a compromised dayz server, it would be easy to then pop the client machine...I'm sure alot of people are running dayz.exe with elevated privileges, Thanks for keeping us informed, I'm confident you will be giving us more info when the facts are known.

    you call that jumping?

Yea, not nearly enough time to 360 no scope. In addition, going prone shouldn't require me to kneel, I can't pancake drop shot either.

    Vegetarian Survivors

Thanks ref, I was gonna have to say the same thing. Vegetarians get plenty of protein, you just have to get a nice variety. We only drink soy milk here too. Whole family. My two kids have never eaten meat, and they some of the tallest and strongest in their age group, play sports, etc.

    Vegetarian Survivors

I am in fact vegetarian, over 12 years. However, I don't really feel bound by it in a game, there often isn't really viable veggie options. It is survival, I mean c'mon. In any event, I wouldn't have a problem eating meat I raised or hunted/fished for sportingly, my main issue is with our disconnection from our food supply. If you are physically, in real life, willing to kill an animal personally with your own hands, skin it and cook it - power to you.

    Bandits ruin this game

Feel like I could be being trolled, but I'll bite anyway, because I know there are people who's opinion of the game is similar. In fact, I bet the good majority of the bubble sales of this game hold some of the same sentiments. You won't find as many echoed here; this is a forum with a lot of hardcore fans who have been posting since the early days of the mod. The hype that surrounded the stand alone coming out I think really brought in a huge influx of people who heard the chatter, saw a few vids and decided to jump on board. The really is an answer for your questions. You bought the wrong game. Now, don't get me wrong, you might learn to love it. You might not. You might have a love / hate relationship with this kind of no checkpoint, no exclamation point quest giver, no dialog option, no safe zone type game. I'm really saying, you probably thought the game was something else. The game is intended to be primarily survival from a variety of sources not just zombie battles. Zombies have never been a major threat though I do miss the days of having to crawl around every town desperate, desperate for a can of food, and not even being able to punch the zombies. You have to survive those, hunger, thirst and eventually hopefully weather too. But humans are the real threat. Yea, a man might stand out in the crowd and try and do something to save you, but most will quietly slink away if they aren't putting another bullet into you. There will always be men who are willing to kill for sport, to take what you have rather than gather for themselves. There will always be bandits. I hope you learn to love this game. This type of open experience is not like any other sort of game. Cool experiences in the game are results of people, not scripts and cut scenes. It is organic and unpredictable. I urge you to give it a chance, learn to trust less, and be less attached to your gear. Pick a cool challenge for yourself and role play it a bit. Maybe you only use a crossbow this life, or maybe you grew up in Cherno and completely gear and survive with in its limits

You are fully geared, would you shoot these people?

My votes went right with the curve. Interesting the second one, the key word for me was "village", as opposed to airfield. In all cases, location really sets my mindset. I've shot unarmed people in certain places if they acted hinky, and wouldn't hesitate again.

Why do my arms look like salami?

Be thankful you don't have THIS problem
  16. I had one character in the standalone that WOULD NOT DIE. I survived probably 80+ hours on him. He got shot to near death multiple times in huge gun battles and pulled out. I manged to accidentally drink alcohol tincture while trying to disinfect, and recovered. I literally fell off the roof of the giant building in Cherno, the one with the big sign? Landed on one of those walkways below without a scratch. Ironically, I don't recall how he actually died. Some mistake, not being careful, feeling invincible no doubt. I do recall that I died about 5 more times that night to roaming bandits all over the Kamyshovo coast.

500 second wait timer? Rant @ devs

You're right, sitting in a position in a game like this is retarded. I should run out in the street and chase down the guys firing at me! Let me quick get my P90, choose my marathon / lightweight kit, and get my C4 ready.

Do you want pooping in this game?

200+ replies to a poop thread. This is what we have become. P.S. I voted yes, 'cause why not. I dare them.

The True Story, Of a True Hero.

The opportunities are rare, but they do happen. My friend and I were well geared at the time, in some midmap town I don't even know. Middle of nowhere, we were looting around without much caution. Suddenly, my buddy says "You hear that?", and we go on alert. "There, I see a guy. He's...he's naked and rolling in the street with a bag on his head." Immediately, I saw Admiral Akbar on my shoulder screaming about it being a trap. I go on high alert, scanning everywhere, every window, bush or other probable hiding spot. My friend approaches the man and confirms he is a guy rolling in the street naked with a bag on his head. He has a broken leg, and has been trying to kill himself since without success. We give him morphine, get the bag off his head, and get him fed and hydrated. He kind of cautiously follows us, not in a sketchy way, but just tentative like not sure what to do. We continue helping him get gear around the town and he gets his mic working. He played the mod, but is new to the SA. We inquire about his status, he replies he has a red "Sick" icon. Not sure how that happened, but knowing that we have helped several friends back from consuming rotting food, we work to get him stabilized. Eventually, he informs us he drank a whole alchohol tincture in the process of trying to kill himself. Well that explains that. We continue to travel together, and a few IV's later, getting him to the Sobor's and the clinic's there. Was a great time, and got this guy back on his feet. Added him on steam, first time I've ever actually made an acquaintance that way in DayZ ( I play with people I know previously from other games). Was pretty fun for all involved. You can't make this stuff happen, you can't force it, but it CAN happen.

    Mountain Pack vs. Hunting Pack

With all the slots from pants, shirt, etc...I always used Improvised for the low profile. That may change as features get added and you need to haul more stuff that right now is useless - cooking supplies, antibiotics, painkillers, vitamins, etc.
  21. I really think that's should be a top priority. So hard to be cautious when there is crazy reloading sounds in your ear the entire play session.

    regrets? i have one son

Yea, I found a newb afk in the upstairs of a house. He wasn't responding, and after some investigation was obviously AFK. Handcuffed him, opened some food and water and put it in his inventory, go rid of his 2 batteries and two flashlights (...wtf...) But I regret that I forgot I didn't have a handcuff key. Oh well, he was probably hella confused when he got back to the computer.

Sal's 13 Rules For Lone Wolves

Haha, I worry when I pick up a gun without ammo, then this goes through my head too. "They'll probably shoot me anyway"
